Hike: CT. New England trail Sections 9 and 10

- I tried to hike the Connecticut sections 9,10, and 11 but because of the dry conditions I had trouble finding water to finish the trail and surrendered at the end of section 10. This part of the New England trail follows the Mattabesett Trail from the Godwin Campsite in the Rocklannd preserve through the Guilford Land Trust and over to the Cat Tail Shelter along Route 68.
I shot this video a year or so and just got to releasing it as I recently finished section 11.

Wonderful, almost 1K...let me be one of the first to congratulate you!! Great to hear that private lands are being kept open to keep trails going. We could learn from that as many places are being lost...especially some pretty amazing waterfalls. A noisy night rewarded with a breakfast and a drive...that's a pretty good tradeoff! lol A great few days for sure! Bruce and Otis

John, I agree, it is a nice trip and would make a great first time back on trail. My back on trail trip happened to be Mount Washington and I love every aspect of it, have you redone this section since then? That trail that brings you back seems to hold a special spot i find and as such I've done Mount Washington nearly every other year since I've been back on trail. All the best, Gary.

@ConnecticutBackcountry my videos are just an idiot walking thru the woods alone to music! Hahaha! I actually make them for my wife. She can't hike anymore ...she's a nurse and her feet hurt too bad now to hike.. so I make the videos for her so she can see the places I go. But ultimately, it's still an idiot in the woods to music haha. I'm a big fan of all you guys with the really good channels.

Thank you sir! Yeah, the NET runs past some very residential areas so not many "campsites" or noise free nights. Still worth the walk I think? lol.
Ah, the green toilet seat tho! Love Rockland. Stayed there at the end of July and the bugs were awful. The explosions are from the local sportsmans'/gun club, Madison or North Branford I think. Wisdom to "call it" in the conditions you had. Great video Gary! Love the NET! Congratulations on 1K!

@@ConnecticutBackcountryyes, finished the NET last December. MA has more csmp9ng options. We're actually going back in a couple weeks to stay at the Richardson-Zlogar cabin, I think in MA section 16. Great place with great views!😊

I am kinda happy with it though, happier than I was when I recorded it lol. The footage is at least a year old.
