the rowing machines in my gym are beyond broken, unfortunately.
RIP!!!!
Bro just tell them, if you complain and say it's important to you they might get it fixed. Don't ask, don't get. Now do it!

Change gyms
Watching your videos feel somehow more relatable than the other fitness videos. Because your body does look more believable and achievable considering the "natural" spectrum. No excessive abs (in fact, slightly fatty) and biceps.
I did this today, because I love the rowing machine and prefer it to anything else in the gym. Even engaged my 1 pack to having a 6 pack 😅 in the future.
Thank you so much for your videos. I'm terrified of most of the machines at my gym and your videos have really helped.
Excellent advice... very simple, to the point and accurate.
Thanks my friend!
Can you do a demo of the first exercise please and thanks. 😂
Thank you for the simple and easy to listen to video. Very helpful.
Love it mate , keep up the good work it helps
Wow! I didn't know you had to straighten your back. This is helpful!
Short and sweet, thank you!
That’s what she said !😢😭
Used it first time today, thanks for showing how to change resistance on the side . I thought it was too easy, next time I’ll adjust!!
Must. Do. Shirtless!
Just done my first rowing machine exercise at the gym for 30 minutes yesterday😊thx for vidro
Whut tha hellllll was that combo at the start lmao
I ❤️ the Rise & Shine videos! 👍
Nice good work out👍👍👍
Hi Austin! I love how you explain things. Your app is great too. Happy New Year ~ Tara
The only bad thing is at the finish of the stroke you put your hands all the way down but you should think of it as a table where you only drop your hands down around 3 inches.
good Stuff
You've become huge 😎
We just purchased a Concept 2 a month or so ago and are getting started. What would you recommend for length of initial workouts and number of days per week? Thanks for breaking things down in this video!
3-4 days a week ~20-30 mins a session! My ebook has a perfect beginner 1-month plan! My app has full programs for all levels too :)
Not intimidated by puzzled. I've been looking for a rower to buy since last September and I'm still looking. I'm a cyclist and I love moving around out in the open but with a rower I'm afraid that I will easily get bored from repeating the same motion in the same surroundings without the element of surprise of discovering something new. And then I see your passion for rowing and I love it.
Rowing is so rewarding. I have never had a workout that is as great as rowing. I recently hit my one million mark and that in itself keeps me motivated. It seems like you just get started and 45 minutes is gone. I also looked at many rowing machines and the Concept 2 always came out on top. The C2 is relatively inexpensive and the quality is top notch. Customer service at C2 is great. You will love rowing.
@@mr.wilson8340 Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it. I'm afraid Concept 2 didn't do it for me. I'm more excited with aero-magnetic rowers but the one I really liked was of a questionable quality.. Still looking. Happy rows!

Its hard to row alone because of how repetitive it is so music is recommended. If possible maybe try to find a club to get out on the water, if you’re near any.
ah I've tried this in 8th grade, surprisingly the 10th level wasn't really too difficult.
but I've done a lot of reps and sets on it
With rowing machines, the drag factor only slows down the fan faster - it doesn’t make “more resistance”! Give it a try again next time at the gym!
@@trainingtall alright and yes I will, this is the first time I've actually seen the machine itself since years ago.
This is a good tutorial. Sidenote, Omai God if you want to impress a girl get on the rowing machine
Then grow to 6' 6" and you'll be rowing like a champion.
When I was rowing I tried to have my arms come in basically at the same time as my legs came down fully. The logic was that in the boat the oar blades are at such an inefficient angle at the end of the stroke and the arms already contribute a lot less strength proportionally that I wouldn't want to waste time on doing it on its own like that. Ideally I shot for having all contributing muscle groups peak together when the blades were perpendicular to the shell. Did it this way on the machine too to be consistent. Thoughts? I know this probably already happens sorta anyway automatically at a high spm.
So you want it to be like a chain reaction that moves up your body, as its the most efficient and least painful way. So you really want to keep your arms straight until your body pivots. The arms should be the last part and you want to make sure to pull level as to not strain the shoulders. Being loose is preferred over tense.
This doesn't work as bending the arms will limit the ability to transfer force from the legs to the hands
How do you breath, I think I can row correctly but can't hold 1:50 for more than 500m
Inhale on the recovery and exhale on the drive. In general, 1-2 breaths should be good. Don’t breathe through your nose, it’ll make you lightheaded
That opening clip lmao. That's gotta be India
I really enjoy the rowing machine and it comes easily which makes me think I’m doin it wrong 💀
If it’s easy, you’re doing it wrong!
@@trainingtall dang, its the one thing i enjoyed. I’ll probably just stop using itX.
great video, but don’t drop your hands! it saves your energy, and the machine’s!
Hey Dude, you forgot to lift your elbows up to the height of your shoulders as in the video about the 7 most important things when rowing!!!!!!!😊
?????? No, don’t do that. Have them somewhere in the middle
I used to love rowing machines. Then, I got injured using it like 3 times.... haven't used it since. I was sitting on my buttcheeks.
Why are your shoes so big? Definitely not the right size
Mate the guys like 6ft8
Omg you are doing it so wrong in am a rower and ahhh everything is bad
Funny enough I can’t exactly remember where we put ourselves on the seats because I usually just go off of the indents lol
Wrong form
😂 good one
There's alot of crap on the internet and this guy's videos fall into it unfortunately - coming from a health professional.
well don't leave us hanging what is he doing wrong?
@@LiamYager keeps coming off the resistance and bad posture.
Well rowing does cause a lot of stress an over use injuries. One of the most common serious injuries being stress fractures of ribs. The resistance is really just to imitate water and head winds. The posture is a weird one because we are trying to find the most efficient way to transfer our pull as we move, so stretching and strengthening core and quads are most important.
@@anneke_yep2407 like I said, there's a lot of crap on the internet.
