    Watching your videos feel somehow more relatable than the other fitness videos. Because your body does look more believable and achievable considering the "natural" spectrum. No excessive abs (in fact, slightly fatty) and biceps.

    I did this today, because I love the rowing machine and prefer it to anything else in the gym. Even engaged my 1 pack to having a 6 pack 😅 in the future.

    The only bad thing is at the finish of the stroke you put your hands all the way down but you should think of it as a table where you only drop your hands down around 3 inches.

    Not intimidated by puzzled. I've been looking for a rower to buy since last September and I'm still looking. I'm a cyclist and I love moving around out in the open but with a rower I'm afraid that I will easily get bored from repeating the same motion in the same surroundings without the element of surprise of discovering something new. And then I see your passion for rowing and I love it.

      Rowing is so rewarding. I have never had a workout that is as great as rowing. I recently hit my one million mark and that in itself keeps me motivated. It seems like you just get started and 45 minutes is gone. I also looked at many rowing machines and the Concept 2 always came out on top. The C2 is relatively inexpensive and the quality is top notch. Customer service at C2 is great. You will love rowing.

      Its hard to row alone because of how repetitive it is so music is recommended. If possible maybe try to find a club to get out on the water, if you’re near any.

      With rowing machines, the drag factor only slows down the fan faster - it doesn’t make “more resistance”! Give it a try again next time at the gym!

    When I was rowing I tried to have my arms come in basically at the same time as my legs came down fully. The logic was that in the boat the oar blades are at such an inefficient angle at the end of the stroke and the arms already contribute a lot less strength proportionally that I wouldn't want to waste time on doing it on its own like that. Ideally I shot for having all contributing muscle groups peak together when the blades were perpendicular to the shell. Did it this way on the machine too to be consistent. Thoughts? I know this probably already happens sorta anyway automatically at a high spm.

    • @anneke_yep2407
      @anneke_yep2407 11 місяців тому

      So you want it to be like a chain reaction that moves up your body, as its the most efficient and least painful way. So you really want to keep your arms straight until your body pivots. The arms should be the last part and you want to make sure to pull level as to not strain the shoulders. Being loose is preferred over tense.

    • @Tom-vu1wr
      @Tom-vu1wr 6 днів тому

      This doesn't work as bending the arms will limit the ability to transfer force from the legs to the hands

      Well rowing does cause a lot of stress an over use injuries. One of the most common serious injuries being stress fractures of ribs. The resistance is really just to imitate water and head winds. The posture is a weird one because we are trying to find the most efficient way to transfer our pull as we move, so stretching and strengthening core and quads are most important.
