You speak the truth. I poisoned my gut with so-called “heart-healthy” and “keto-friendly” artificial sweeteners for many years. My recent switching to using primarily Allulose has helped me to restore my health. I have also found that I can enjoy Monk Fruit and Black Strap Molasses without any ill effects, although I reserve their use for special recipes and not as my daily primary sweeteners.
Hello David! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are so happy to hear that you have found a healthier alternative in Allulose and have seen positive changes in your health. Keep up the great work and thank you for being a part of our community!
Allulose is quickly absorbed and excreted, but isn't metabolized by the body. Because it isn't metabolized, allulose doesn't increase insulin or blood sugar levels, isn't stored as fat and won't promote weight gain like sugar does.
I ate 2 chocolate chip cookies that I made with coconut flour and 1 1/4 Cup allulose. My stomach was in shambles for hours. I had diarrhea after about 30 minutes, followed by stomach cramping for 4 hours. Crazy thing is, I used 3/4 Cup allulose in homemade sorbet a week prior and had no issues. I don't know what to do. My family and want to enjoy a sweet homemade snack during the weekend, but don't want to eat refined sugar. Refined sugar seems like the only sweetner that doesn't cause gastrointestinal discomfort tho. Smh
I am guessing, then, that you should stay away from the Coconut flour. I am doing Keto-Carnivore and so no flour of any kind in my diet now. Any noun suffixed by -ose is a sugar, e.g. glucOSE, fructOSE, allulOSE, sucrOSE etc. Any noun suffixed by -ol is an alcohOL like ErithytOL. I had a problem with some Allulose because, unbeknownst to me, the brand I bought was made from corn instead of figs. After eating homemade cranberry sauce during the holidays, made with allulose, my doctor 'read me the riot act' because a blood test showed my liver enzymes highly elevated (we were trying to resolve my fatty liver). You may put stevia down on your list, but I haven't found anything yet, except for liquid stevia, that won't raise my liver enzymes. Sticking with stevia.

Wow! That's great news because I've been using Allulose for several years. However, since I reached my target weight and have kept off the excess pounds for a year and a half, I've added honey to my Allulose to give it a better honey-like flavor for my coffee when I want a dessert drink with milk. I bought the Allulose with the 'honey' flavor added but it had a terrible chemical aftertaste. Even worse in coffee. It was even more expensive than necessary too. Corporate Rip-off if you ask me. So, I made my own. By using actual unfiltered honey to flavor my Allulose, I can enjoy the flavor of honey and the benefits of Allulose. Sparingly, of course. One tablespoon of unfiltered honey in an 11-ounce bottle of Allulose will do the trick adequately. I get the honey flavor without the glucose spike!

I been using organic nutmeg , mix with cinnamon for my coffee and chocolate for decades it works fine and my Glucose stays fine. My grandmother got me into it until she pass away at age 101.years.
Also while I love the idea of allulose after experiencing an increase in my pain from eating it I started looking into it and it seems like it’s derived from corn which I know causes a severe increase in my pain when I cut the allulose back out my pain got better so if someone has a corn allergy maybe stay away
I'm surprised you put Stevia below Molasses which has a glycemic index of 55 as opposed to 0 for Stevia. I'll have to do research on Stevia and damage to gut biome. This is a first for me. As for the bitterness, Sweetleaf brand mixes it with inulin (fiber) to tame it quite well. I have found that using a very, very, very small amount of 100% stevia is still very sweet yet, not bitter. If I use too much, it becomes bitter. You need to find the fine line with it. Anyway, I guess I'll look into Allulose.
Monk Fruit Extract is expensive because it's the best and has anti inflammation, gut health, no erythritol and good heart, great blood pressure, gastric and is 250 x's sweeter so 1 tablespoon is equal to 1 cup regular white suger! Never heard of his #1 but he put Monk Fruit = B

I newly found allulose and I even like it in keto desserts. I don’t understand your low rating for stevia though. I wish I hadn’t used even liquid sucralose for years before I switched to liquid stevia.
Xylitol works best in a good chewing gum or mint form (in frequent small amounts), not so much as an ingredient within food as a sweetener since there are side effects going over 9g (can also raise risk of clots) unlike sugar in fiber-rich whole fruit, so kind of a mixed average.
You only need 6 to 10 grams max daily of xylitol for teeth/mouth benefits. At 10 grams (4 to 5 pieces of gum sweetened with xylitol) can give you gas. That's why it's a C rating. Not really practical to use more than a few grams at a time. Double that too 20 grams in one sitting & you might have an upset tummy with lots of gas etc. For mouth benefits you usually would chew 1 to 2 pieces of xylitol gum after each meal for about 10 minutes (chewing longer might wash the effects away) I do 1 piece of gum after a meal 4 to 5 times a day.

Great question! Both liquid and powdered allulose can be used in various recipes, but they may behave slightly differently depending on what you're making. Liquid allulose can be a great option for drinks or sauces, while powdered allulose may be better for baking or dry mixes. It really depends on your personal preference and the specific application you're using it for. We hope that helps!
So far I have been just blown away with allulose sweetener, it sounds too good to be true, a sugar that is not only safe but has benefits, I also heard that allulose will prevent sugar from spiking blood sugar if allulose is added to foods with sugar. Am I correct?
Allulose has not been properly tested. I'm sticking with sugar of choice in moderation. Some allulose is made from corn, and it could be GMO. Xylitol & erythritol are GMO, too.
I love allulose, but not able to buy in Canada, as there haven't been enough studies to have it approved by Health Canada. So monkfruit it is until it's available again.
I was using Allulose until it was found to cause intestinal problems for some people. I started using monk fruit instead. Now after realizing that I was not experiencing discomfort from Allulose I started using Allulose with Monk Fruit. After listening to this video I will consider going back to just Allulose.😂 It can get so confusing! 🤔. Thank you for this video.

Monk fruit and Allulose is hard to find in the UK, I heard isn't allulose made from starch through a process called Hydrolysis, starch is isolated from corn, isn't corn a GMO?
Sounds like Maltodextrin to me. Enzymatically partially digested starch (usually corn). Higher on the Glycemic index than either table sugar or straight glucose. Can initiate an Insulin reaction twice as much as table sugar. Is not considered a sugar, ad is used as a bulking agent with many of the better replacements like Stevia or Monkfruit. It is everywhere.

Dr. Gundry I must find out if allulose is a diuretic. I known it is excreted through the kidneys but does it affect the frequency and quantity of the liquids you lose if you are trying to keep your gut hydrated and your stool soft? I fast intermittently and when I am not eating my digestive system doesn't move what is already in my gut. This can lead to constipation on longer fasting days.

I am thinking about trying it but I have read that the commonly reported Allulose side effects include digestive issues, such as bloating, gas and diarrhea. If this is true should it be called a superfood?
Allulose is quickly absorbed and excreted, but isn't metabolized by the body. Because it isn't metabolized, allulose doesn't increase insulin or blood sugar levels, isn't stored as fat and won't promote weight gain like sugar does.
I only found Allulose at 1 store it was Sprouts..other than that gotta go online I found u have to use a good amount but it's worth it if it's not gonna hurt my gut buddies. Thx Mr. G
I read online. research shows that allulose may promote the growth of certain bacteria associated with poor effects on gut health. I wonder if you had side effects. Everything is better in moderation.

I use stevia with a little bit of cream in a bowl of blueberries every day. Secondly, I use Splinda in my morning coffee. In addition, I switched from Coke to Diet Coke 15 years ago then to Coke Zero about eight years ago, thinking that although they weren’t perfect all of those things were reasonable choices. what are your thoughts? And further, if not, are there better alternatives in each of these situations?
Hello there, thank you for reaching out! Dr. Gundry recommends avoiding Splenda along with all diet and "zero" drinks because of the types of artificial sweeteners used in those products. Based on the principle of: corn was not used 10000 years ago, therefore our body is yet not used to consume it, how are these sweetners....My doubt is on their safety long term
Wouldn't it be nice if foodstuff manufacturers ditched aspartame, sucralose and HFCS and shifted to allulose? I can't swing a dead cat without hitting something with those three ingredients in them. Fortunately, I personally don't need a sweetener in my food, but when it's added to almost everything I might eat or drink, it's damned frustrating.

that's what I read somewhere as well.
@@Courtannica it makes you paranoid about everything you buy you have to research beforehand
Well that's probably why my gut gets rid of it sooooo fast.
I been using organic nutmeg , mix with cinnamon for my coffee and chocolate for decades it works fine and my Glucose stays fine. My grandmother got me into it until she pass away at age 101.years.
wow im gonna try that
Thank you for sharing, that sounds delicious!
@@PavelMatous-vu9vh
Add cardamom to that. You will be over the moon 🌝
Brown sugar is white refined sugar with molasses. Mescabada Suger is pure cane Suger not refined.
Oh my goodness. Oxalates are horrible 🤢🤮
Thankful for the info....so frustrating we don't have it in 🇨🇦
I am using glycine. It does not taste as good as sugar, but it is very useful to help the body make collagen.
Glycine should be up there with Allulose.
@@brunob54 I also using glycine in my tea in morning from long time, its amino acid and no any side effect , but take 5 to 10 grams per day not more.
I had temporary vision problems. They do warn of this.
Glycine also lowers Uric Acid levels.
@@BabulalPatel-ln4ij you can take 50gr a day and there won't be any bad effect.
Also while I love the idea of allulose after experiencing an increase in my pain from eating it I started looking into it and it seems like it’s derived from corn which I know causes a severe increase in my pain when I cut the allulose back out my pain got better so if someone has a corn allergy maybe stay away
@@letsstartahomestead good tip. Thanks
Did you find something about stevia?
Stevia damage the gut, that's the only one negative downside.
Have you found stevia damages gut or not? 😊
@@IMKSURVIVOR What do you think of allulose?

I want to try Allulose, haven't seen it yet. Thank you for your expertise, and superb productions!
I order it from Amazon. That's the only place I have found it.
The Brit’s have been using allulose a long time. You can order it online, but it’s at most natural food stores.

I use liquid Stevia and Swerve. The Stevia for 25 years and the Swerve for about 5 years now. And Swerve is very safe
swerve is erythritol
@@cynmalin5728 It is and is very safe contrary to this vid.
@@ethimself5064
Safe? It depends.
It dilates blood vessels, and very suddenly.
This is unsafe if you have low blood pressure, and many athletes do.
If you have a heart condition this could be bad.
Food products for the public should safe for the public and the public includes athletes and people with medical conditions.
I think erythritol should have a warning label.
I like Swerve! Loaded with gut-healthy pre/pro biotics.
We have Allulose, Mon Fruit, Species, Sucralose and Xylitol.
I use Xylitol for Xylitol Pulling after oil Pulling to get rid of cavities and preventing them.
I usually mix the other sweeteners in different ways for Icings, Fillings, Baking, Cooking, Drinks, Puddings, Ice-Cream, Milk Shakes and No Bake Cream Pies.
I will start to rework my recipes and try to narrow down to just Allulose and Monk Fruit.
Certain things must taste like normal, or they just taste like fakes.
No Bake Cream Pies
Puddings & Fillings & Icings
Pancakes & Waffles
Southeast Asian Glazes
Donuts & Muffins
Ice Creams & Milk Shakes
Teas & Coffees
Other Low carb Things like Ham Glaze, Sweet Bread Rolls, Baked Pies, Lemon and or Lime Aides, Baked Cakes and Baked Puddings I can work to alter some.
I will put an effort into doing the Gundry on my Recipes. 👍
❤no no no, another great benefit of xylitol is the mouth health, teeth health so be accurate. It stimulates your gums to produse enzymes who strengten and mineralising your damaged teeths. Also It kills off plaque, check it out yourself. I have tried it and know this to be a fact. But Allulose also sounds very promising! I`ll try it happily. 💥☺

In Canada I've yet to fine pure monkfruit unblended or Allulose. I hear good things hope i can find some here soon.
@@leesoftley2685 - Allulose has not been approved by the FDA in Canada. It's banned from sale in Canada.....unfortunately. I've bought Allulose from the US. Fantastic stuff. It's dropped by blood sugars by an average of 2 points. As a type 1 diabetic, I will take any help I can get.

anyone can explain why he gave Xylitol a C right after he said good things about it, like Xylitol helps with gut and mouth microbiome?
No super
Hey said in the video that it can cause gas and bloating.
What about inuline? It was championed in all Paradox books I have read

Allulose is 70% as sweet as table sugar. In order to bring it up to 100% as sweet add 30% more than what the recipe calls for.
I found a liquid allulose, does that. Does it matter if it’s powder or liquid?
According to clinical papers I've read, Yes you're correct.
@@jeffharp4644Even Dr Eric Berg recommended allulose, I'm definitely buying allulose in bulk on Amazon, this will be my go to sweetener.
Allulose definitely can sound too good to be true, David! Please let us know how it works out for you when you try it out! 🙌
How about inulin, glicerine and glycine?
yes, he used to praise inulin in a lot of his videos
Allulose has not been properly tested. I'm sticking with sugar of choice in moderation. Some allulose is made from corn, and it could be GMO. Xylitol & erythritol are GMO, too.
Awesome analysis

Thank you!!!
I'd be curious to hear what the Doctor thought about Trehalose or Stingless Bee honey which has fair amount of Trehalose.
Monk fruit and Allulose is hard to find in the UK, I heard isn't allulose made from starch through a process called Hydrolysis, starch is isolated from corn, isn't corn a GMO?
@deusvlad2.083 dr gundry sells it. Non gmo
@@yvonnesaucedo1 Thats cool
Both are impossible to find in Brazil especially in energy drinks which are mostly sucralose.
Yes, a grain
Sounds like Maltodextrin to me. Enzymatically partially digested starch (usually corn). Higher on the Glycemic index than either table sugar or straight glucose. Can initiate an Insulin reaction twice as much as table sugar. Is not considered a sugar, ad is used as a bulking agent with many of the better replacements like Stevia or Monkfruit. It is everywhere.
Would love to hear your opinion on Mercola now saying we need atleast 300 grams fructose daily. Mainly for thyroid health and to prevent gluconeogenesis

Thank you for reaching out. We highly recommend contacting your primary care physician if you have any medical questions or health concerns. Your physician will have a better understanding of your medical history and will be able to better assist you. Thank you!

I am thinking about trying it but I have read that the commonly reported Allulose side effects include digestive issues, such as bloating, gas and diarrhea. If this is true should it be called a superfood?
@@JCarlWilson maybe that's only during the transition phase, when different microbes take over in the gut? Not sure, haven't tried it myself.
stevia changes the taste of everything it is in ..
....Allulose is mostly make from corn please advise
Allulose is quickly absorbed and excreted, but isn't metabolized by the body. Because it isn't metabolized, allulose doesn't increase insulin or blood sugar levels, isn't stored as fat and won't promote weight gain like sugar does.
I only found Allulose at 1 store it was Sprouts..other than that gotta go online I found u have to use a good amount but it's worth it if it's not gonna hurt my gut buddies. Thx Mr. G
I have Sprouts near me too. Their my only close choice if not online as well.
I read online. research shows that allulose may promote the growth of certain bacteria associated with poor effects on gut health.
I wonder if you had side effects. Everything is better in moderation.
