Love your dads comment and I can relate , 40 years ago our cars were rear one wheel drive. No posi or lockers. Simple but pain in the ass winter 🥶 ❄️driving 🇨🇦👍😉
I have lived in Colorado Maine and Northern Wisconsin. I have never owned a four or all wheel drive vehicle. I have driven front and rear wheel vehicles exclusively. I fit them with a set of winter tires and they are like snowmobiles. Never been stuck in 35 years...
I just moved to Alaska, near Fairbanks. People tell me that they don’t plow much here. Have you driven in places where the snow hasn’t been plowed? Can you back out in deep snow???
Wow! What a great review. It was cool to have all three of you in the GX at the same time...multiple view points...a bit of humor...and I think most basics covered. This exact vehicle is on my short list for next SUV. Also looking at CX-30, Kona N Line, Seltos SX Turbo, and even the Mazda 3 Hatch AWD.
Southern Ontario is the only place you can wear a t-shirt, sweater, raincoat and winter coat all in the same day haha. I find good all weather tires work the best with the post storm slush. Also, slowing the hell down. Keep it up, boys.
Holy shit man! I didn't know that they had 3 dude's in that little car! Aws or not, that thing is staying on the ground! Plenty of weight to the ground for lots of traction!! Although, let's talk about power and getting up the hill 💪
i have a 2020 Encore GX 1.3turbo AWD- 13k miles and not an issue! Consumer Reports gave the Encore GX a 5/5 for drivetrain reliability, and the Trailblazer (same platform as Encore GX) tied with the Lexus GX for the most reliable vehicle!
First time running across you guys and don’t know if this is your first non truck, but you need to do more American mainline vehicles like the Buick, Cadillac, Toyota, Kia, etc. Being a healthy size 6’ person like your family, I get tired on seeing car reviews by guys 5’-8” and 175 lbs. Those small reviewer get in the rear seat and talk about ample leg room after sitting prior in the front with the jammed up against the steering wheel. These small vehicle reviewers are everywhere! Your family would provide better insight in vehicle ease of entry, exit, and interior comfort. I would also be interested in reviews that cover how the vehicle drives with 3 full size passengers vs one 175lb passenger. Keep up the good reviews and hope to see in more main stream vehicles reviews.
Hey was that "cliche corner" you were driving on? For those who don't know, it's a series of turn used by the straight pipes on youtube to test cars. And if so, i would like to know where it is so i can take a drive on it one day.
You guys are so awesome and I love your program, and I will also like to know where can I get that from jacket on you guys. I live in St. Louis Missouri
I purchased this exact vehicle for my wife, the one thing I was let down about was the fact that I thought it had adaptive cruise control... I can't believe for all that money you don't get adaptive cruise 😡
Most people don't need adaptive cruise because they are watching the road and know how to slow down when they get closer to the car in front of them. 😃
I have a 2019 Envision Essence and the engine noise is greatly reduced so maybe it's a as it goes up the ladder. Love mine so far. Switched from a Chevy Sonic, which was good for whizzing around in snow. Lol. 😂
First, Great Review, who thought of buying a Buick (or any other American-branded car) after 1980? 2015, bottled water outsold all beverages, including soda and beer, and the year SUVs began to dominate the market, cutting pickup truck sales in half and knocking cars/sedans down the top ten list.
See if you can figure out how to make the display show half radio info and half navigation map. Arrgh. Been trying to set my moms like that for three years. I have seen it once.
That’s basically a 3 seater with you guys in there 😂. I’m the same size as you guys and when I was looking for a truck I was interested in a midsize pickup. I test drove them all and they were way too small for me. The back seat became useless and driving comfort was non existent. The larger SUVs are quite nice. I ended up with a Ram 1500 and I’m thrilled with it but suvs are great. Awd and winter tires and you’re good. This Buick is a bit too small.
How does this go up a hill that's 45 to 50 degree angle and curved on snow and ice all at the same time? That's how I have to get to my house year-round. That is once I get to the addition that I live in
Awesome video Truck King. Matt’s a nice addition to the team. Why is it when you review crossovers and SUVs you don’t ever show the payload stickers or really talk must about it. I feel like most auto manufacturers in North America under rate the payload of vehicles. Is it for liability reasons? Love to know your thoughts.
The crossovers Elmer 1,2,and 3 should test in the snow are the Assent,Telluride.and the Durango.Or what about this,Subaru's assent and the Tulluride are what I'm most interested in the way of crossovers. Especially in the snow. But test all of them that has an internal combustion engine. And all Trucks with an internal combustion engine. Untill they make them solar powered I'm not to interested in the EV thing. Now if you want to test something my wife is interested in,test AWD vans. But if you value your safety don't put a wheelchair ramp on it. Otherwise she might come take it.

You should talk about the GM Buick Encore reliability issues! My Encore had coolant leaks and eventually dumped all the coolant out on the highway (there were other issues like the $600 Interface Control Module replacement!). At least the warning light and temperature gaged worked. I maintain my Buick in excess of manufacturer recommendations at the dealer and have a small stack dedicated to coolant leaks. My prior GM car was the Oldsmobile Intrigue. It had 3, yes you read that correctly, three front transaxle replacements in less than 110K miles! Though the 3.8 L engine was reliable, all in all, I don't think I will ever purchase another GM product.
@@alanb3213 I know, but the commonality is GM and I don't trust that the manufacturer's QC will result in a more reliable vehicle. I'll be checking on the statistics over time to if I m wrong.
So we got a video of 3 guys in a little car driving on the road in a little bit of snow and nothing else? The roads looked clean and clear for that drive!! With 3 people they could have done some driving in the snow and mud and show us just exactly how it does in bad weather conditions?😢😢😢😢 instead, we got, well, this?? Whatever this was anyway 😢
Buick.... It's such a boring brand anymore. Once a powerhouse in its own in the auto industry from luxury boats, to muscle cars, to turbo charged sinister black two door coupes and all the supercharged cars of the 90's and early 2000s to well.... This😭
Dear followers!! Don't let the beautiful pictures confuse you . Anyone who buys a new car from GENERAL Motors the chance you threw your money into the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service, the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help will come faster. Buick is, or was, supposed to be the middle ground between the regular car and the luxury car. But everyone has really upped their game nowadays. Take Mazda for example. Why buy a Buick over a Mazda? You can’t even rationalize it with “at least Buick is American “. It’s not anymore. Buick has nothing that excites me.
The ones for North America are made in S Korea along side the original Encore. That said, the Envision is made in China for North America, and that one has actually gotten good marks for reliability. I think the engine noise is subjective. I think it sounds good, and Buick's active noise cancellation probably helps some. Full disclosure, i bought a FWD GX earlier this year.
This vehicle was not built for north america, it was built for china. It's the reason for the 3 cylinder lineup. With that said I still think this and the trailblazer are some of the better small crossovers in recent times. While the trailblazer was designed looks wise for NA, the buick strongly resembles their chinese buick design language. As for the snow, snowtires on an old rwd pickup with no locker and no weight on the rear axle will still be safer than an awd crossover with 3 season tires and 50/50 weight balance because awd means nothing when you're using the left pedal. I know you guy's up there in america's hat have mandates for snow tires this time of year, but down here we don't, and you see way too many idiots in subaru's and rav4's with awd stuck on the side of the road with 3 season tires
I bought 2022 Buick Encore GX Essence in Apr 2022. It is totally amazing
You guys provide a great, comprehensive review.
They failed to mention that the C-pillar is very thick and obstructed your view. Also, since it's a small motor, it's loud as well.

OEM all-seasons
I wasn't really happy with the oem tires on ours, I changed them to the Nokian WRG4 All Weather tires and think they are better in all conditions
Toyota has no problem with your scathing remarks about 4 dr sedans being... Camry has beastly sales.
