Maybe the problem with this motion is that religions have both proved to be helpful and harmful to society... Then there's also the question on whether there is a scientific basis to believe in God. There isn't. On the other hand, there is the question about whether it is possible to scientifically disprove the existence of God. Yes, sure, many institutions have been created by religious organizations. But one must remember, that back then, there wasn't much more THAN religious organizations. EVERYTHING was religious and if you where not, then you wouldn't get very far in life. So of course! Religion had it's hands on everything.

Tory austerity has killed many working class people. I've been to an Atos assessment centre, I've seen what they've done to people. A young woman suffering chronic pain, in tears, with her carer, being dragged into an assessment. A middle aged women who worked as a nurse and suffered a severe brain injury being harrassed by Atos. I will never forget those poeple. And now the Tories want to punish disabled people even more by forcing them to work with the new disability benefit changes on the horizon. They will put those that can't work through more assessments and deem disabled people 'fit for work'. More disabled people will suffer and die because of this. Yes. A terrible thing, a member of Parliament, meeting his constituents as we expect them to. I cannot be a hypocrite and claim to have liked him, I first met him when he was candidate in Basildon, in 1983. He asked me what I thought his chances were of winning. I told him 'none', and then regretted it when I was working at the count, and he did win. I watched as Harvey Proctor MP raised David's hand in a victory salute.
He did work hard as a constituency MP, supported a lot of things I disagreed with, but he should have been looking forward to a long life and a pleasant retirement. Yes, sure, many institutions have been created by religious organizations. But one must remember, that back then, there wasn't much more THAN religious organizations. EVERYTHING was religious and if you where not, then you wouldn't get very far in life.
So of course! Religion had it's hands on everything.
But when it is today such a huge difference, why are most soup kitchens still done by religious groups?
For one religious organizations use those kitchens to get more believers. They do the same with addicts, and 3rd world countries.
Additionally, there are many secular organizations that help all over the world that don't indoctrinate or expect anything back.

I wouldn't be so sure about that non indoctrinating theory of secular organisations you have there (feminsts are a great example of indoctrination women they help with their ideology). Oh, and I worked on different help projects, some organised by religious groups, I have not seen much indoctrination happen there, so maybe your absolute views are some kind of self-deluding, so that you can justify your own irrational worldview?

Tory austerity has killed many working class people. I've been to an Atos assessment centre, I've seen what they've done to people. A young woman suffering chronic pain, in tears, with her carer, being dragged into an assessment. A middle aged women who worked as a nurse and suffered a severe brain injury being harrassed by Atos. I will never forget those poeple.
And now the Tories want to punish disabled people even more by forcing them to work with the new disability benefit changes on the horizon. They will put those that can't work through more assessments and deem disabled people 'fit for work'. More disabled people will suffer and die because of this. This is what the likes of David Amess stand for, it's what he supported. Low life scum is exactly what they are.

Why are the poorest countries in the world also very religious?
There is a big difference between being religious and serving the creator, the only true and living God. Religion brings confusion, Jesus Christ had brought peace and total freedom to humanity. Oh, how I pray that we may know him the true deliverer and Prince of peace.

Perhaps a world not overcome by diversions like TikTok, jetskis, and alcohol and a move to the earth, farming and connection to the earth without trivial diversions might lead one to humility and grace. God never made it His business to only work through those who had every material comfort known to man, did He?

Who told priests and nuns to give themselves to church and not marry !! I am a Muslim and God telling me about Christians clearly that they invented these roles upon themselves and ( God did not asked them to do so ) they’re human just like everybody else and should practice a normal life beside religion life. They should have married and have children and just be normal. Holy religion is all about mercy and compassionate and common sense. Is all about true and ease and guid peoples life, never the opposite. So I ask churches ⛪️ to lift up the marriage ban and return to normal, and to be perfect accept Islam ☪️ because it’s the last and for all. God bless you ♥️
