The Fishermen are usually glad if they run into one of the NATO ships because they're often helpful with medicine and new equipment. There's no nuclear waste in that country. The pirates control the waters and the fishing. If they say you cannot fish then you cannot fish. But those waters also happen to be the location of a massive shipping lane, so the pirates don't even control their own waters. Pirate attacks on vessels don't happen that often because now most companies employ PMCs to guard their vessels (and the personnel on these security teams are usually former special forces). So they just stick to robbing their own people.

It seems like it would be cheaper to redirect all shipping traffic around the south of Africa or through the Pacific than to keep warships from various countries and pay out millions in ransom not to mention losing large cargo ships. There is a clear difference between the Fishermen and the Pirates in the region.
The Fishermen are usually glad if they run into one of the NATO ships because they're often helpful with medicine and new equipment.
The pirates usually crap their pants while frantically dumping their Kalashnikovs over board.
There's no nuclear waste in that country. The pirates control the waters and the fishing. If they say you cannot fish then you cannot fish. But those waters also happen to be the location of a massive shipping lane, so the pirates don't even control their own waters. Pirate attacks on vessels don't happen that often because now most companies employ PMCs to guard their vessels (and the personnel on these security teams are usually former special forces). So they just stick to robbing their own people.
