@@willshedo I know right... its like: "would you be happy if I gave you free snacks?" "Yes" "Oh I see, so why should I reward you something for being a squeaky wheel and carrying on? Security!"
Oh my goodness the story about the family from New York KILLED me because they were acting like it’s such a long way away! Lol I’m from New York and travel to the parks multiple times a year and it’s a 2 hour flight! Lol!!!! These stories are so interesting and funny thanks for sharing!
I feel like SOOO many people in Disney world flew from NY. It's basically THE place to go with kids when you live here. That person wasn't unique like at all. Now when I was at DLP and to a lesser extent DL that was a bit more, but yeah Flying from NYC to FL is so common it's like almost expected.
I think that no strings policy should not apply to certain people. Basically you rewarded their bad behavior. Pretty obvious they complained to get free stuff and they won in the end. So annoying but great story 😀
gissneric I agree they shouldn’t be rewarded for complaining but their aim wasn’t to get free stuff but just to use up their dining plan. As they were leaving they wouldn’t have another chance to spend it anyway so it was redeeming their credits without putting it through the system effectively. Generally I don’t like giving free stuff in bad situations but this was up to the coordinator. I prefer using no strings to make magic! Thanks for watching 💕
No bad behavior was being rewarded in this instance. Any location that offers purple icon snacks in all 4 parks can and will convert one QS credit into 3 snacks as long as it is during one transaction. Only if people want to break up the 3 snack credits to use at different locations do they need Guest Services help to convert.
Wow that’s awful! Maybe it’s because I’ve worked in retail, but I can’t imagine treating someone that poorly. Whenever we go to Disney we always try to be very polite and kind to CM’s (not to mention you’re more likely to get the help you need if you ask nicely!)
Due to the sheer anxiety and distress working customer facing jobs has caused me in the past, I can't help but be anything but cheery to employees I come into contact with, I would imagine working at Disney is incredibly stressful for some.
This reminds me of when I worked at a shop in Lapland a few years ago. The shop I worked at sold reindeer shoe tree ornaments with the reindeer's names on them. We sold out of the Rudolph ones and they were selling way quicker than we can stock up on them as people were buying 10 at a time. Adults would shout at me and say how disappointed their kid would be if they couldn't get one. Like the child was entitled to one and couldn't just be told ''you can't have one''. It was really hard as I had to stay in character and pretend to be the happiest little christmas elf at all times. One woman said to me one day ''but I want one!'' and I could help but reply with ''Well, sometimes in life we can't always get what we want'' :) Then she walked away.
First let me congratulate you for your story telling ability. It is SO NICE how you get to the point. Another CM channel I've been watching is just painful and I often end up giving up on her. Second, you did very well dealing with these chuckle heads. Many of us would no thave had the patience.
That was one of my biggest pet peeves working retail was when people would say "well can't you just check the back again" after you've looked at the computer system and have already checked the stock room that day. I live here so I can guarantee that we don't have your shirt.
I felt so bad for her. How horrible. I know I get nervous in situations like that which makes it 100x more difficult to think properly. Why can't people teach their kids in a loving way instead of bullying them and shaming them.
I would love to hear your top magical moments too! Love your videos so much! I’m applying for the CEP right now (alongside your sister haha and praying we both get it!) so your videos are both super helpful and super exciting!! Xx
We had over THIRTY-EIGHT snack credits left among our nine family members. But we understood it would be easiest to purchase the snacks from the resort. So we went crazy in the snack area at our resort the morning before we left, buying gummy Disney characters, pretzels, chocolates, all kind of good stuff. We went to a very funny cashier who joked around with us about having to pack all these yummy items into our suitcases without having to pay for an extra bag. No problem, we rode the train, which put us into another conversation about rail travel and how much fun it can be. It was super easy, and we had a bunch of little gifts to give out at Christmas. People, it's not rocket science, and the snacks are pretty much the same all over the resort. Sort it out the night or morning before you leave, AT YOUR RESORT. It's just simpler.
Yes! I had a friend who worked at a resort and she said this happened all the time but they were used to it, plus it meant the guests could take the stuff straight back to their room or literally out with them as they left! Just makes it easier for everyone and the souvenir snacks are the same everywhere 😅

@@emilyswanderland It is what it is. I try not to take it personally when I'm being screamed at and cussed out because I ask a required question. I have wanted to work in the parks for years, but I know I would not be employed long if anyone ever spoke to me the way that these people spoke to you. In all seriousness, when someone insults your character and intelligence, how much trouble would you actually get into if you were sarcastic or snarky back to them? You are a human being and I would think that even a company like Disney would let you off if someone called you a name or "mimed" you going back into the stock room to look for an item. If you actually said to that last guy, "Sir, my pixie dust is in short supply tonight..." would you have gotten in that much trouble? I love Disney so much, but if I ever heard or saw someone belittling a cast member like that I would speak up. There's no excuse for entitlement when everyone is paying the same price and waiting in the same lines.
I honestly don't know as I was never sarcastic to a guest (only in my mind!) but I think it depends a lot on the situation. If I'd said the thing about the pixie dust, I'd definitely have gotten in trouble because that's rude in any customer situation. However I know sometimes leaders get that guests can be out of line and would treat it case by case.
Ugh!! I hate retail. I still do it, but it's soul sucking. People act like I want to personally destroy their lives just because the STORE is out of stock of an item. I have a ton of crazy people stories, it comes with the territory, lol!
Man that dad was just rude to his daughter but I’m glad she got what she wanted. Would’ve made the dad look even worse if he had taken it from her just because she couldn’t figure out how much change she’d get. I understand learning how to count change is important (I’ve worked in Walmart and worked the register at a quick service location in Disney, trust me I know how important knowing how to make change is) but that was not an appropriate time to do that
We just got back this week from Disney World. What amazes me is the vast number of people who actually believe that the world (Disney World, specifically) revolves around them! One woman on a shuttle bus told me that her kids expected at least five souvenirs each day and that she felt she owed it to them and then kept talking about how expensive it was. This person would be the kind of person to demand something that didn't exist so that her darlings weren't disappointed in getting one of their fifty souvenirs for the week. Good grief! Working with the public is hard. You have a good attitude about it. Just keep smiling. (:
"Don't summon me by ringing the bell." Haha, I feel for you. I'm a cashier, and people will repeatedly ring the bell we have on the counter. Even when I'm RIGHT there. Great video ! You seem so sweet :)
"My pixie dust is in short supply at the end of the night when you're being rude to me. I don't feel like sprinkling that stuff around." Ha ! Loved this :) SAME
I stayed at Grand Floridian in August, beautiful resort but will never stay there again because of some of the guests, doesn’t surprise me at all that someone was that clueless there.
Emily’s Wanderland oh it’s definitely not every guest, but the ones who are nasty can really ruin it for everyone. I stayed club level and ran in to some of the most entitled guests, I really made sure to treat the CMs up there well to make up for all they had to put up with.
Emily your New York accent is great for a Londoner or someone from the South! Fascinating stuff. If you work at Euro Disney Emily you will have 20 years of stories for UA-cam in the space of a couple of years!
I had a private mailbox at one of these maildrop services. The staff had left 30 minutes early and I had a key to get in to check my private mailbox. This one-man demanded that I open up shop so he could mail his package. He didn't believe me when I told him I didn't work there!
One of the most special relationships a girl can have is the one with her father, too bad the jackass was too busy worrying about whether his daughter could make change that he ruined that special bond.
I’m laughing at your New York accent. I have a Pacific Northwest accent so I’m told. Lol. I used to be a telephone operator. UK operators said to me, “ I can tell you are from U.S. People love to be snobs. Especially from a wealthy area. They talk down to you. I hated it.
DCP alum from 2011 here! Also worked in merchandise but at Hollywood Studios. Had my share of rude guest experiences and it's especially disheartening to see a parent berate their kid for something completely beyond their control, especially the kid whose dad made her do math at your counter! Or when parents use their kids as an excuse to rattle your cage!
You know that story about the father trying to check for that Pixar shirts, I think I probably would have gotten fired over that one. I have a pet peeve about two things number one is willful stupidity and the other one is thinking and acting like you're better than somebody else. He knew that you would checked for his daughters he knew that you would gone back and checked again specifically for him and yet he demands that you continue to check. I would have done one of two things, either one probably would have gotten me fired if not at the very least written up. The first one I probably would have just gone backstage and sat there for a half hour, or just taking my lunch break and then come back afterwards saying I'm sorry sir I still could not find it the second thing I probably would have done is I would have grabbed him called him backstage with me and had him check every single shelf and hook and had him see personally but there was literally no shirts left in that size.
It is hard to tell because I wasn't there, and you said that his tone was bad, but I think it also might be a culture thing. I am from the Midwest (US), and I would ask a fellow guest those questions and would think nothing of a fellow guest asking me that (and would try to answer). But when I went to England (London / Liverpool / Ormskirk) I realized that strangers don't really talk to each other, and when I asked that type of question people look put off (we thought they didn't like us because we were American). And then talking to English people that had been to the US, and specifically the Midwest they said it's just different in England, you don't talk to strangers unless you are drunk in a pub (then they won't stop talking!).
Nice vid. Yeah working customer service in any capacity shows you the best to worst in humanity. It must especially hard for Disney employees by virtue of the fact there are such strict rules on how you can handle less than ideal guests. It must be difficult, you have guests who spend quite a good amount of money on these trips and as a result some have a sense of entitlement. They forget or don’t care that the people working at Disney are normal people with feelings who are trying their best to give the guests a good experience, that most are willing to bend over backwards to help when a persons request or issue is a reasonable one. They also don’t consider their kid probably doesn’t want his or her mom make a scene or his dad hit on Cinderella.
🤣 The NY family might've been related to Rosie Perez!!! 😂 Or at least from your interpretation, that's who they sounded like!!!🤣 (just kidding with ya)👍 Our daughter unfortunately has experienced not so nice guests like that but in the fashion industry, so imagine those snobs!!!🤨 Not Cool at all!!! You might need a pixie dust refill. Thanks for sharing!!! 😁
So, that father with the bullying I swear was my father who I hate. He did the exact some thing to me, on my 5th birthday, at a toy store, in front of other costumers and at the cash register in front of the employee. He told me, after picking out my presents, to solve how much it would cost and what the change would be. But I couldn't. I was Five and had an undiagnosed math disability at the time. He then grabbed my hand, as I'm crying at this point, and walked out of the store telling me I couldn't get my birthday presents on my birthday because I couldn't solve the amount of money it would cost and the change back. He walked us out the store and left the toys I wanted at the register and took me home to my mom. they were divorced by that point and I was at that point starting to see how big an ass he was. But this father you talked about was just as bad. You do not ruin your kid's vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth with that. I wouldn't be supersized that he did that stuff at home too...it's just disgusting to do that to your kid.
When you worked at the tower of terror gift shop did you get to wear the bellhop uniform like the attraction attendants or do they have a separate merchandise costume?
Man that family saying they’ve come such a long way from New York. Lol try coming all the way from northern Canada xD Thats where I’m from and I’ll be going in a couple of weeks to Disney World
Sabrina Miller it’s not typical for any store to have them. Post offices, hotels ect occasionally have them but it’s rare. In other countries do they have them in more store then?
I actually have a question. We love to bless those who help us and work there. My daughter is planning on giving cast members something as a gift... thinking about a sucker, a cute small button or something like that. What would you suggest?
Wait, what's this about an entire floor for cast members? I thought they still slept in the stinky threshes strewn across the sub-basement's cold stone floor.
You would think that people would be happy considering it’s Disney! I have heard horror stories about some of the guests. A good majority of them had this stuck up in better than you attitude.
Sorry but with the bullying dad and the math problem, I would've just handed him the changed and said, "NEXT" to the line! He would be forced to move aside with somebody coming up behind him. No way would I stand there for 10-15 mins while this is going on. Beside it being terrible for the kid, it is rude to you AND the customers waiting in line. And if I was in line I would yell at the dad to take your change and leave! If everybody in line was telling him to hurry up, then I bet he would care that he is holding up the line!
It was very uncomfortable but I was one of maybe 15 registers just on that one side so nobody really noticed. People often spend a long time at the registers in world of disney as they buy so much!! But I didn’t know what else to do but stand there awkwardly 🙈
It's hard to believe people act like this at Disney! Wow. Just wow. It seems like because these people have paid a lot of money for their vacation, they expect everything to be perfect - items in stock, short lines, no attractions are ever down, etc. And if it's not perfect, these people feel entitled to treat the cast members like rubbish. 🙁
Ommmmggg “why they takin so long? Why they being so stupid !! I just wanna go sit down” in the New York accent was hilarious 😂😂

I understand learning how to count change is important (I’ve worked in Walmart and worked the register at a quick service location in Disney, trust me I know how important knowing how to make change is) but that was not an appropriate time to do that
Yor accent was hysterical!
Wow bad parenting 101 right there 😂 thank you so much, I will ☺️
"Don't summon me by ringing the bell." Haha, I feel for you.
Loved this :) SAME
Ahhh the struggle is REAL!! Thanks for watching! ☺️💕
I can’t believe people lol.
This video was so funny!
I would love to see some magical moments video x
Emma & Jon - You're Welcome! Aw I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I’ll be sure to film that soon ☺️💕
In America, you DO summon workers with a bell in many places. Its just typical. Don't get offended. Its quite normal.
I stayed at Grand Floridian in August, beautiful resort but will never stay there again because of some of the guests, doesn’t surprise me at all that someone was that clueless there.
Like everything it wasn’t everyone but it does happen. I’m sorry you had that experience!!
Emily’s Wanderland oh it’s definitely not every guest, but the ones who are nasty can really ruin it for everyone. I stayed club level and ran in to some of the most entitled guests, I really made sure to treat the CMs up there well to make up for all they had to put up with.
The girl with the dad figuring out the change- she's going to develop anxiety :///
My dad does that to me as well and I am dyslexic and I struggle with money.
Your New York accent is pretty impressive
Emily your New York accent is great for a Londoner or someone from the South! Fascinating stuff. If you work at Euro Disney Emily you will have 20 years of stories for UA-cam in the space of a couple of years!
ahaha I'm glad you approve! And I wouldn't want to work in the paris parks personally as the vibe isn't the same!!
Oh man this was major deja vu to my summer at mouse gear. Can almost guarntee I know what coordinator helped with the snack demons lol
Olivia Rose aha that’s amazing you got to work there!! He was very sweet and calm if that tells you much ☺️
I had a private mailbox at one of these maildrop services. The staff had left 30 minutes early and I had a key to get in to check my private mailbox. This one-man demanded that I open up shop so he could mail his package. He didn't believe me when I told him I didn't work there!
Dead lord i cant imagine treating someone like how half these people treat cast members :(
"we came all the way from New York" I'm British and this made me cringe like try a 9 hour flight lady 😂😂
Ahaha ikr I literally was looking at her like um how long do you think it took ME to come work here?! :P
I hated it.
Love your channel 💜😊
Thank you so much!!
Aww I loved working at DHS!! They weren't nice experiences but thankfully the good outweighed the bad overall :)
That NY accent is so funny . I’m from NY . Great job on the accent. LOL 😂
Hahaha thanks that's praise indeed!!
Thank you for calling it bullying. That's exactly what it is! Referring to the father math lession incident. I hate parents like that. 🙁
Your American accent is so cute :)
My father was a bully too. Thankfully I'm a grown up now and can cut toxic people out of my life. I doubt his impact on me will ever be gone however.
When you worked at the tower of terror gift shop did you get to wear the bellhop uniform like the attraction attendants or do they have a separate merchandise costume?
Nope you wear the "strawberry" costume that all merchandise cast members on Sunset wear :)
Yay storytime! :)
Yay its so interesting ! :)
Greg Ponce I’m glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for watching ☺️
Man that family saying they’ve come such a long way from New York. Lol try coming all the way from northern Canada xD Thats where I’m from and I’ll be going in a couple of weeks to Disney World
Aha yes and I was standing there having literally flown 9 hours from London 😂😂
Omg that poor little
I'm genuinely curious, in the UK do stores and service counters not have bells?
Sabrina Miller it’s not typical for any store to have them. Post offices, hotels ect occasionally have them but it’s rare. In other countries do they have them in more store then?
They might have thought that what the bell was for?
Omg the New York accent 😂😊
you are the cutest!
Ella McCartney thank you 🙈💕
Emily’s Wanderland 💖💖
I actually have a question. We love to bless those who help us and work there. My daughter is planning on giving cast members something as a gift... thinking about a sucker, a cute small button or something like that. What would you suggest?
Small buttons would be best as food is sometimes not allowed to be accepted ☺️ that’s very kind of you!
The grandma sounds like stuart from madtv lol
the New York accent 😂😂😂
Wait, what's this about an entire floor for cast members? I thought they still slept in the stinky threshes strewn across the sub-basement's cold stone floor.
Lol not quite 😉
I wonder if the Jessie doll was a lovey that she lost it somewhere?
How about a video on stupid and rude Disney cast members. I'd love to watch that video.
Hahahaha people are crazy lol and pretty good ny accent
Your NY accent was great IMO lol
I would have given you some of my rude guest moments to share! 😂
Sarah McKnight I think only you could do justice to those stories 😉
SO many rude guests!
Morty Mouse but there are still many lovely ones ☺️
It sounds that father was a nightmare
Figment isn't popular because he lost his Dreamfinder!
Ok I wonder if mouse gear sees the wildest guests because of the plentiful adult beverages in the park 🤔🤔
Happily Ever Erica I never even thought of that but it’s a very good point 😂
EPCOT in general is wild when it comes to guests
Who cares if you came from New York to Disneyworld? Now if you came clear across the country from New York to DisneyLAND, that would be something.
Loved your ny accent lol
Ahaha thanks!
You would think that people would be happy considering it’s Disney! I have heard horror stories about some of the guests. A good majority of them had this stuck up in better than you attitude.
Magicoftomorrow it’s sad but true 😅 most guests I encountered were lovely though ☺️
Did u know the information or not
Watch the video with your audio on...
There is a college program to work at Disney???? Wow
Money is definitely a big part of it! Would help if they knew we weren’t benefiting from the price increases though 😅
