I am a 57 year old DPC and I do understand how hard it had to be for all of you. I am happy to say however that I don't have all the issues that your roommate had. My roommates are not friendly as of yet because I had to move in with them from the 3rd floor. They are scheduled to leave sometime in July and have been here for a year. So yes I understand their apprehension to get t know the old lady .Third floor wasn't comfortable for me with grocery runs. I never expected to get this internship on the first try. My age was on the application just like theirs. Disney has been extremely accommodating to me and I appreciate that so much. I just wish my roommates would understand that I am not here to run their lives. I just want to empower mine. Yes I can still do that at 57. Thank you Disney for allowing us older ladies to experience the magic too. My body might not be as strong but my spirit is young and ready to experience the next adventure God has planned for me. Besides, I can't wait to share my experience with my students. Since Disney has become part of that and I earned it I will do what it takes to make the best of it. Thanks WDWDCP!!!
Forgot to say that all my children are gone, but I do have a wonderful husband at home. So glad he wanted me to experience this. It has been very difficult. The ups and downs of emotions in that sense is killing me. I miss him so much. Wish they had spousal housing for older DCP's. They surely wouldn't regret it.
Very well said Ms. Linda Graham! I'm 37 years old and I still feel and for the most part look like I'm 23... only in part of my coloring over my few gray hairs to my natural deep chocolate brown and not having any real aging to my face or body! But if I were to have thought about this in my late teens/ early twenties I would have loved the opportunity..... now I have children and roots kinda planted and couldn't ever think about leaving off and heading away to take advantage of an amazing opportunity such as this!!! If I had help with my children and it worked out for me and my children then heck yeah I'd love to have the experience but that is only going to take place in my dreams, my deep down, most restful sleepy dreams hahaha.... good luck to you Ms. Linda, may your dreams and aspirations take flight and become everything you desire and more!!! I'm EXTREMELY proud and excited for you that's for sure!!! XX
I think that's really unfair to these young girls having their first taste of independence to have someone who could be their grandmother living with them. It's just not appropriate.
I know 36 sounds super old when your young...it is older than me but in the scheme of things it's not that old and it is a bummer that she was such a weird person because I think it's super cool that Disney gives opportunity to people who aren't in their teens or twenties.
Agreed! I didn't hear about DCP and their other programs until I was past 25 and thought darn, not gonna be an option. I didn't know they took older people. I'm 30 now. I still won't be an option for me because I'm not leaving the country for several months when I've got such a young child, but it's nice to know in another life it could be.
I agree! I'm in my thirties (a couple years younger than Ann)and i consider myself still young. However, this "Ann" needed to sort herself out! She said she was from a Southern state..I wonder if it's from where I'm from?
@@JennaGetsCreative I'm pretty sure culinary is the only program in which you can be past University age (12 months post graduation), so DCP, ICP, CEP are all 20-25 years old; unless its a mature student who has gone back to school later in life I assume
Hannah Godfrey yeah I’m in uni as a “mature student” (now 31) and I did the ICP last summer and I’m going back this summer (and I’ll be 32). Honestly why not if you get the chance and are thin the position to! :)
This makes me so sad that someone like this got accepted and didn’t embrace the Disney culture when some of us applied and could only dream of this and didn’t get this opportunity! I can’t believe she just watched tv in her room every day and didn’t appreciate what she had. It makes me so sad!
That always weirds me out. I’ve worked with CMs that have been at the park over a year and never gone for fun. Hell I just go ride a couple rides before a shift sometimes
That poor woman. It sounds like she was going through a lot in her personal life. Like she had kids, and she broke up with her boyfriend. It sounds like something happened and she just had to leave and take care of things.
I do know for a fact she was termed but obviously I don’t know the full story of what she was going through (other than what I heard her yelling down the phone at 6am...)
What is horrifying to me is that "Ann" was escorted out by security for workplace threats/violence and then she was allowed to be around you before she left her housing. She could have caused injury/damage/death to you.
I wonder if somewhere on YT, 'Ann' has posted a video about how she had awful roommates who tormented her with running water, constantly woke her up after their shifts and never did their dishes. She probably goes on about how the DCP is B.S. and that she was unfairly termed near the end of her culinary program when she defended herself against a fellow student. ;-)
We had a mature culinary program participant working at my location he was in his 30s and was constantly trying to talk with all of these 18-21 year old girls about really uncomfortable things. I’m still pretty sure he’s there.
HOW does someone like this even get into the program?? she couldn't have interviewed well. there's so many people who would actually take advantage of the opportunity & be grateful, not to mention they'd probably be a better employee in general. taking up a space she doesn't deserve in the first place! she really doesn't sound like a disney fan either lol, been there a month & no park visit yet?! such yikes.
It was a very bizarre situation and I really don't know to be honest as she had no passion for the company!! I guess they can't get it right all the time though
I know more than a few absolute nutcases that interview very well. then on the opposite side of the spectrum I know even more awesome people that have panic attacks trying to interview.
I think she's emphasizing that she's 36 not to say that it's strange to go back to school (it's amazing when people go back to school!) but to highlight the fact that this almost middle aged woman is harassing a youngen for no reason.
Okay this story is WEIRD because during my DCP (about a year ago), I had a roommate who was in the culinary program, from a southern state, with three kids, who was THE WORST. She ended up quitting but it's so strange to me that you had a similar experience!
Wow. Reg cast member here and I used to be kind of jealous of the DCP kids, it looked fun but seeing some of these horror stories I’m kind of happy I just hired in lol

My roommates would think i’m a weirdo!” Lol. Now i see that it was still an option to go back! Oh well heh. I’m grateful for having the chance to go twice when i was younger :)

She was probably trying to bait you into an altercation and hoping you would throw the first punch so she could attack you and claim self defense.

Honestly by how you describe her she showed some sings of bipolarity so maybe that contributed to always sleeping, acting out, having some noise (movie) going on. Her moods just don't sound consistent..but its just a thought
knife related incident... "suspicious" stuff under the bed... yeah that doesn't really sound like someone that should be allowed to work at disney world...
I didn't learn about the DCP until I had already graduated from college and am still disappointed I never got to participate. Knowing someone had the opportunity and didn't even go to the parks or do anything to take advantage of the situation is just so upsetting to me.
@@emilyswanderland as an American from a southern state I have to say that I have literally no issue understanding you and I've met more fellow southerners I have a harder time understanding. Yikes! This roommate sounds like a real nightmare. Glad you came out of it okay (especially considering the _knife altercation_ you mentioned). At least you got an interesting story to tell out of it. BTW, you have pretty eyes, Emily. 😊
That woman probably isn’t ready psychologically for many things, that program included. All of her life’s negative reinforcement will have to be undone first. Some people are constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. Live and learn!…maybe a touch of controversy/adversity is good, so glad most of your DCP roommates were good. A read of the Psychological DSM is enlightening and offers insights you can carry and use for your lifetime. In Europe I believe it’s called the Psychological ICD. Reading through the Personality disorders sections allowed me to understand some people I was extremely confused about.
Did the DCP when it was two to a room which is crowded. So I can't image three to a room. I also encountered an older DCP participant during my time. She wasn't that old (32) however, I as a 24 year old at the time couldn't relate to her. I hung out with her a few times to be nice but after I had to be around the CPs my age
She does does actually have a chance for rehire, I dont know if she would want to be but... lol. I know from experience, Disney can rehire you if you are terminated. If it is a normal termination (due to: missing work, late, call outs, etc.) it would be after 6 months you are up for rehire. If it is a complex situation (altercations, insubordination, termed due to health issues, etc.) you go through a process of verification for rehire .
I know it's possible if you're termed for something dumb like too many call-outs or going to the park when you should have been working, but I don't think that applies when it was something more serious like in this situation
Why is there always problems between roommates at this Disney college program like there’s so many videos on UA-cam. I feel bad for all of those that have had a bad experience.
I think it’s putting people from all over the world in the same place and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Also though, thousands of people do a DCP every semester and there’s only a handful of videos for each program with bad experiences so I don’t think it’s that bad generally. My first program I lucked out :)
I had the best experience with roommates. I guess I was lucky. I was in the International program and I chose to be put into a room at random. They girls I roomed with were amazing. And are still my best friends today. I feel bad for the people with roommate horror stories.
I was so fortunate with my roomies. I wouldn’t have considered us all friends, but we all got along okay. No real drama and there was six of us, so there certainly could have been. Weird roommates are weird lol sorry you had to put up with that!
I lucked out as well. My roommates and I are all still best friends. We have been in each other’s weddings and have gone on girls trips together. It would really suck to not get along with roommates. But I have heard roommate horror stories as well
Disney definitely needs to do better with housing; people should be housed with others similar in age. Great video btw! Glad the knife altercation was at work and not in the dorm lol
I’m surprised they would place someone my age with 18-20 year olds! Seems odd. I’m 38 and done with college, huge Disney fan, always wanted to do the DCP (wouldn’t even have thought to try it past age 30!) so not judging but very surprised. Young people are fun but I’d be a little weirded out rooming with people so much younger plus vice versa. Plus she sounds very immature for that age. Clearly, she had never lived with people. She could have gotten a noise machine, suggested a tidying/cleaning schedule, etc. Way too old to be screaming at people, especially being the oldest in the group. Goodness.
She sounds just like a women i had to share a room with a couple of weeks ago. I’m 32 i don’t consider that old and i have lots of friends who are much younger than me. I think she just had something going on but age had nothing to do with it. Amazing they still let older people join, maybe i should check it out as i am back in uni again!

If I would have been able to raise my eyebrows above my head, I would've. This lady sounds horrible.. I do hope she got her life sorted out. I've been wanting to do the DCP for years and years, I'm 30 now and I might finally be able to do it.. So I am happy to hear that Disney doesn't discriminate on age :).
Wow this story was crazy, love your channel and videos btw I’m a new subbie Such a random question Hun but where is your bee top from if you don’t mind me asking? I love it it’s really cute ☺️
Yikes, knife related! Great to have a peaceful 2 1/2 weeks. I had no idea that they take people past their mid 20's. Interesting. From one Disney fanatic to another, have a magical day sprinkled with pixie dust! :-)
if you think the only time you will start your career is in your early 20s you are wrong. I think one day ypu are going to look at this video and be embarrassed by your smirk. It is really unbecoming.
just saying.. this woman sounds like she was going through some deep stuff and honestly it wouldn't have hurt you to try and help her, a little understanding.. she probably was a nice person inside, also 36 is not being old, probably it wasn't easy for her either to share a bedroom with two teenagers ☺️ don't take it bad, you seem nice girl
@@emilyswanderland it seems like she was going through a tough time in her life, you just have to understand that probably this situation was more weird for her than it was for you guys, she probably felt a little bit like a stranger and at least you had each other, as said you really seem like a nice girl I just wanted to throw this thought here so you might reconsider why she acted so weird, think about nature, when you come across a wild animal sometimes it's more scared of you than you are 🖤
...were there no other mature participants? Why would they room her with you when there's such a huge age gap? Also, you'd think they'd have a better handle on her mental state through the application process. That's ridiculous; Anne sounds like a terrible roommate and has some sort of mental imbalance. You handled her situation with grace and poise and I would've probably spoken to some sort of supervisor of the program, but I'm a tattle tale like that I guest :P
Disney just splits by over or under 21 - they don’t group people who are similar within that! And thank you, I’m glad you think so - I like to think I did 😅💕
I have no idea how I got here. If 36 is old, then I’m the crypt keeper. I think it’s amazing that Disney is open for all ages to learn and work. On the flip side, she should have been put in older housing. When I was in college 100 years ago, there was an option for living on a 21 and over floor. The discrimination policies have changed so much since the 80’s but my college still has the 21 and over floors. Anyway...enjoy your time working for Disney!!
Sounds like Anne* was mentally unstable! How scary to have had to sleep in the same space! How did you enjoy your program overall? Where did you work? :D
Julie Morgan aha i wouldn’t be surprised!! I loved my program! I was in merchandise and placed at world of Disney in Disney Springs but I actually worked in all 4 parks through trading ☺️
This sounds like a lady that tried to room with me during my CP in 2017. She was culinary, from Georgia, had kids, and was in her 30’s... I wonder if it was the same lady???

Basically the accent that's mocked the most. Yikes)
waywardaughter aha amazing 😂 I’m glad you can understand me then! I think she was just being awkward!!
I had a very similar roommate experience when I was in college. So odd...
Yikes! This roommate sounds like a real nightmare. Glad you came out of it okay (especially considering the _knife altercation_ you mentioned). At least you got an interesting story to tell out of it.
BTW, you have pretty eyes, Emily. 😊
Aha yep I’m all good and the story was arguably worth it 😅 thank you!
Lmao " i should probably start at the start ..that would make sense"
That woman probably isn’t ready psychologically for many things, that program included. All of her life’s negative reinforcement will have to be undone first. Some people are constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. Live and learn!…maybe a touch of controversy/adversity is good, so glad most of your DCP roommates were good. A read of the Psychological DSM is enlightening and offers insights you can carry and use for your lifetime. In Europe I believe it’s called the Psychological ICD. Reading through the Personality disorders sections allowed me to understand some people I was extremely confused about.
I’m late to this video, but as a southern person I’d really like to apologize 😂
Ahaha I don’t assume everyone is like her at all 😂 I met many lovely cast members from the south ☺️
I could listen to you speak all day ! hahaha I love your videos. Will you be at disney during summer 2019 ?
Aww that's so sweet aha! I always think my voice is annoying 😅 and yes, for a week in August! I'm so excited!
@@emilyswanderland whattt ? Not at all !! Cool! I have my interview for CEP next week, I'm excited :)
Ah amazing!! Good luck!! :)
You’re seriously the cutest! CRAZY story but love your videos!
Aww aha! Thank you so much!! ☺️💕
Aw that's good though! And lucky!! At least it made for a good story for me :P
I love hearing your stories, You are so lucky that you got free admission to the parks !!
Please can you do a video on how to deal with home sickness? I’m dying to travel but it’s the one thing holding me back ❤️
I’m surprised they would place someone my age with 18-20 year olds! Goodness.
I dont know why, but I need to know what movie she kept watching xD
Emily Bors sex in the city and coco were a couple popular options 😅
I think Ann might have had some things going on mentally. She doesn't seem to have been all there.
I’m going to need to know what you found in her drawers! Plskthx 😂
I don’t understand why a 36 year old woman would want to live in a dorm situation with a bunch of 18-24 year old students 🤷🏼♀️
Ummm what was the movie on loop? Was it Pride & Prejudice? This sounds like my first college roommate!!
Sex and the city was the main one I can remember but it changed every couple weeks 😂
My grandma has been watching Christmas in Connecticut every morning since before my oldest sister was born
Oh yeah her age wasn’t the problem, it was her attitude 😅 go for it!!
@5:49, an orb pass's by her right side about shoulder height. (ret: paranormal investigator)
Larry Davis Anne’s ghost 😂
"Knife related."
You are way to polite. I need to meet more people like you because everyone in my area is disrespectful lol.
Aha I guess I meet my country’s stereotype then!!
OH MY GOD I cant believe im just watching this
Part Of Brookes World ayyyy keep up 😉
@@emilyswanderland places not to work at.....CVS, Walmart, Shaws market, Dollar Store, Game Stop, take my word for it some management is so mean just say no. avoid gold diggers scam web sites like Publishers clearing house, make make money at home programs, pay on line surveys, on line gambling, and the lottery. one last thing don't vote it is meaningless.
"Suspicious stuff"? Lol Nice! 😄
Kevin Myers that’s all I’m gonna say 😅
@@emilyswanderland Well you didn't call them 'personal items' so I think it's safe to assume it was drugs of some kind. Lol
@@Kirbykfed89 My guess is marijuana. LOL
"Can't understand what they're saying." Ummm it's still English like, what?
And of course she assumes you're both from London...gosh I'm not even from England but that annoys the heck outta me!
I'm so sorry you had to go through that! But I'm glad you had a good program overall.
Aha it's not all bad - made for a good story! Thank you :)
Okay what is termed is that like getting fired or is it multiple things
yeah basically it's getting fired but there's no-rehire restrictions as well
Sounds like poor Anne had some psychological challenges
Someone got termed for defecating in a box, front of the programs office. This was at DLRCP.
Wow she sounds like a pleasant individual haha. A knife related incident 😐
At least you got the single bed xx
Aha very pleasant!! But yes that upgrade was nice :') xx
Hi ! I just found your channel and I have a few questions :), I’m from England and would one to do the dcp but I didn’t think it was an option for me, did you move to America ? How did it work ? Are you training to work at the parks? Does that mean you are moving to America ? I just didn’t think it was an option for us in the uk !
I did a type of DCP called the cultural exchange program - look it up on yummy jobs (or in my blog in the description box) but it is for international students to work there for for the summer :)
How hard is it to get into ?
@@jessharrigan8883 It's pretty tough! This year I heard around 3000 applications for under 200 places. Worth a shot though!
👸Sooo... Your real life princess "T" (Anna) turned out to be a Disney Villian 😏😂 This plot twist is actually like all Disney movies🎬🎥 So... Congratulations you had a REAL Disney Story Adventure, complete with all the elements of a Great Movie!🎉
I am happy to hear that good once again triumphant over evil... 👿👿👿
🏰 Have A Magical Day 🏰
#HappiestPlaceOnEarth 🐭
You're adorable and I absolutely love your accent!
This is funny because my name is Kyra Ann lol
Is this disneyworld
If I would have been able to raise my eyebrows above my head, I would've. This lady sounds horrible.. I do hope she got her life sorted out.
I've been wanting to do the DCP for years and years, I'm 30 now and I might finally be able to do it.. So I am happy to hear that Disney doesn't discriminate on age :).
Reminder-All 30 something year old's are no where near like this! ✌🌟
Erin Austin So true!
I don’t think anyone is assuming that lol
@@Abbytheballerina you would be surprised.
As a 30 year old, I couldn't imagine leaving my family to live with 20 year olds in a dorm again... been there, done that 🤣
Erica Larsen yeah I’m 21 and i couldn’t deal with having to share a room again 😂
What part of Essex you from?✌x
Chelmsford :)
it's crazy that she was in her 30s and still acted like this. i think you handed it very maturely!
Shannon Rose I know!! You’d think she would be the most mature!! But thank you, I tried my best 😅
Still? At no point in time you should act like this. I don’t think it was a problem of maturity, it seem like she was unstable
Wow this story was crazy, love your channel and videos btw I’m a new subbie Such a random question Hun but where is your bee top from if you don’t mind me asking? I love it it’s really cute ☺️
@emily’swanderland
Aw thank you so much! Welcome aha 😅 and it’s from Brandy Melville ☺️
Emily’s Wanderland Thank you 😊
Yikes, knife related! Great to have a peaceful 2 1/2 weeks. I had no idea that they take people past their mid 20's. Interesting. From one Disney fanatic to another, have a magical day sprinkled with pixie dust! :-)
Aha crazy right?! Thanks, you too!!
I would take this down
I did icp in Disney land Paris and my sister was my Rommate and we had great rommates too Rommates are hard
Okay but when you said "the americans" i cracked up! I am of course american so good job darlin
if you think the only time you will start your career is in your early 20s you are wrong. I think one day ypu are going to look at this video and be embarrassed by your smirk. It is really unbecoming.
Thanks for your feedback and for watching!
Wow this is crazy, couldn’t make this stuff up 😅🌿
EmmaUniverse I WISH I’d made it up 😂😂
You are lucky you didn't gt bedbugs from here mattress
I was one of the oldest people doing the program I had just turned 40
It’s not your age that matters, just your attitude 👍
just saying.. this woman sounds like she was going through some deep stuff and honestly it wouldn't have hurt you to try and help her, a little understanding.. she probably was a nice person inside, also 36 is not being old, probably it wasn't easy for her either to share a bedroom with two teenagers ☺️
don't take it bad, you seem nice girl
We tried to talk to her and she would literally turn over in bed and ignore us 🙈
@@emilyswanderland it seems like she was going through a tough time in her life, you just have to understand that probably this situation was more weird for her than it was for you guys, she probably felt a little bit like a stranger and at least you had each other, as said you really seem like a nice girl I just wanted to throw this thought here so you might reconsider why she acted so weird, think about nature, when you come across a wild animal sometimes it's more scared of you than you are 🖤
girl, we living the same life
My first ever account got terminated two weeks ago
Dang it sucks dcp is supposed to be magical and fun tu she pretty much ruined it .
...were there no other mature participants? Why would they room her with you when there's such a huge age gap? Also, you'd think they'd have a better handle on her mental state through the application process. That's ridiculous; Anne sounds like a terrible roommate and has some sort of mental imbalance. You handled her situation with grace and poise and I would've probably spoken to some sort of supervisor of the program, but I'm a tattle tale like that I guest :P
Disney just splits by over or under 21 - they don’t group people who are similar within that! And thank you, I’m glad you think so - I like to think I did 😅💕
why didn't they send security while she was getting her stuff together? How did they know she wasn't going to take her crazy out on you?
I wish I knew the answer 😅 but I probably should have told housing about the other outbursts in retrospect
Her age wasn’t an issue (though it took me aback!) it was her terrible attitude!! 😅 thank you!
Emily’s Wanderland for sure!! She had issues!
There is nothing wrong with being 36 on DCP.
liked your story!
Did you mean southern state as in somewhere in the US? If she couldn’t understand your accent, that’s just ignorant idk.
aha yep! I won't say which but it wasn't even deep south
This sounds like a lady that tried to room with me during my CP in 2017. She was culinary, from Georgia, had kids, and was in her 30’s... I wonder if it was the same lady???
Ahh "Anne" was from a different state but that does sound scarily similar!!
knife related gangster. What a room mate from HELL!
Oh my. I live in a southern state in the US and have a friend who went to culinary school. She had a knife pulled on her by her roommate while she was in culinary school and a part of me wonders (mostly jokingly) if they are the same person. XD
what was the suspicious stuff you found in the drawer? weed? lol
