@@emilyswanderland on a vacation with my sister in Miami Florida I said a nice hello to house keeping hotel personel. they did not respond at all to that greeting. when me and my sister asked for towels at the hotel they had this complaint look on their face it was so disrespectful. these hotel personel types are not friendly at all. another unpleasent experience was at a restaurant in Cap Cod years ago my family ate at this place. the waitress she not only was mean she yelled at us. finally I had enough of her bad attitude from her so as a boy I got snappy right back at that rude waitress. but I probably should not gave done that it didn't change anything. over the years I excepted people are going to be rotten to you that's them some of those won't change I avoid them now.
Yes, retail or any type of hospitality. I worked in coffee shops and pubs for years and wow some of the people I had to deal with were nuts. It really does test your patience but makes me so much more appreciative of people who work in these positions and I try my best to be extra kind to them
You should sell the lightsaber end pieces for $15. Customer: "How much for a lightsaber?" Cast Member: "Single is $30, double is $45!" Customer: "Great, I'll build a double, then I'll have two lightsabers! Oh wait, one isn't complete, but it's a great deal....Hmm. Okay, how much for this small piece?" CM: "$15." C: "Yeah... but... I mean... wait, really?" CM: "Yep. Basically adds up to the cost of two lightsabers." C: "That's not fair!" CM: "I'm pretty sure the pricing is the very definition of fair, sir."
Thanks for sharing your stories! Having been to WDW and all the parks numerous times, and having worked retail since 1992, I completely feel your frustration and pain- thanks for providing the best Disney experience you can. I for one appreciate all you and other CM's do :)
I've been binge-watching your videos all night and oh my goodness, I can't believe what you had to put up with! Can people really not survive a holiday of a week or two without complaining about something ridiculous? 😂
I love these stories because I worked in the theatre district too and loved it! And I definitely had some interesting guests experiences, but I loved the people I worked with for sure!
Rachel E I loved Merch! Super fun and I made a whole video about my experience with it :) shifts ranged from 6-12 hours and you get different breaks depending on the shift e.g. an 8 hour you’d get a 15 min and a 30 min. Hope that helps! :)
The end cap story happened all the time when I was working at Tatooine last summer !! I Can totally relate to most of your stories after working Theatre district merch
For goodness sake guys! You’re visiting one of most the happiest and magical places in the world! BE HAPPY!!! I’d certainly be very grateful visiting Disney World on holiday and be very happy that the cast members are doing an awesome job to make my visit a happy and magical one. Getting angry over pathetic little things is just not worth it.
One of many reasons I adore Disney World/Disneyland! A child's first visit always brings a shine and a smile on us! I'm a big Disney fan myself and when I get to go I'm always excited and eager to come and leave happy! Disney magic's in me!
I feel like the "we can only sell you 10" policy IS kind of stupid because they could very well turn around and sell the 10 on Ebay too and just have other people they know keep coming to the store and buying more and more. Even if they dont do that and just sell the 10 on Ebay, sure its less money than they would get if they sold more than that, but they are still going to sell for a lot and the Ebay problem will continue to exist. And for Disney to also turn away money, as much as I love Disney, that's also surprising lol. Btw, the ride story was really, really cute=) I'm glad you could do that for that little girl=)
Well she also stated in the video that there is a part of the droid that the cast members 'snap' when they sell it to you to prevent it from being sold online (this apparently takes the product out of mint condition).
The lightsaber thing happened to me the other way around. Back in 2010 I was at a Disney Store near the Lego Store at Disney Springs and was just taking a look at the lightsabers, didn't want to buy or anything, then a cast member comes by and starts building it for me and was like "see? it's this way" and I was just awkwardly looking at her. I was 16 at the time and didn't speak English quite well back then, cause I'm Brazilian.
I love your videos! You are 100% my most watched Disney UA-camr! I am applying to go over in August this year... I have an interview so fingers crossed!
I didnt expect her to have an accent (Im American from Florida so she has an accent to me) so when I pressed play on the video I took a sip of my tea and heard it and was like Oh wOw thAtS prettyyy but it suprised me and I got excited because I love her accent and thought it was pretty but I didnt expect to be made overly happy by this video so I choked on my tea in suprise
for the guy buying more than 10 droids...couldn't he just buy 5 droids initially? And then come back later, and buy 5 more? And a little bit later, buy another 5?
Im guessing there is no individual SKU for each piece. Having been there at the park and having seen the display in question, I can almost guarantee those bins are refilled with bags of replacement parts that are not designed to be sold individually. It's not that Disney can't sell an individual piece, they just don't have a per unit price for them or a way to account for their sale. The whole idea is to buy the whole thing, and the sum of all the parts you choose factors into one fixed price.
Ah I'm glad you like my accent! I didn't actually work in entertainment unfortunately. However I do have a friend that did so I could try to get her on the channel to talk about it :)
I am only 12 (lol) and I’m also from the UK but I love Disney so when I’m older I really want to do the dcp so I have some questions 1:how do you apply 2: do you get paid 3: Is the flight and stuff free Thank you I hope I’m not bugging you byee
Aw you’re so young!! You apply through yummy jobs, you get paid $10 an hour, and you have to pay for your own flights and housing (but Disney provide the apartments). Hope that helps!
Emily’s Wanderland Omg thank you for replying I thought that this never sent so I asked you more questions on a different video I do also want to know (I think that this is important idk idk) what corses should I do I’d secondary and collage and if I should go to 6 form or not sorry for all the questions please add me on Instagram because I really want to ask way more questions lol it’s @smallestbodybiggestheart (it’s a fan account) thank you

I just loved that last story! So wonderful!
I think everyone should have to work in retail at least once in their life.
ylime thedisneygirl I 100% agree!!
I've been saying that for years upon years! I worked in retail for 25 years and I have lots of stories!
Paulette B
Sounds like a poor life choice.

You are a great story teller. Plus your happy personality makes your videos shine. Keep them coming
Aw thank you so much!! 💖
the story with the girl on peter pan was so sweet. i love how nice cast members can be even when they're off their shifts.
Magic doesn’t stop when you’re off the clock 😉💕
That story with the little girl on Peter Pan’s Flight made me MELT

Aww it’s such an awesome place!! But for sure the people make it :)
I’m applying for the dcp next year, did you like merchandise? How long were your shifts? And how many breaks did u get?

I’m sitting here almost crying because of that sweet little girl in the last story. Disney Magic is such an amazing thing.

I feel bad for that guy if he really was a collector :c
I don't really think he was a collector, especially how he reacted when she closed the cases or when they told him that they could track the droids.
I love your videos! You are 100% my most watched Disney UA-camr! I am applying to go over in August this year... I have an interview so fingers crossed!

Lol! Those negative guest interactions you talked about aren't just at Disney. They're everywhere if you work in the customer service industry.
Hannah Rose Reviews aha very true!
The light sabre thing is a rip off. Why can't Disney just sell him a bloody piece? Crazy!
Im guessing there is no individual SKU for each piece. Abbie Benford yay so glad you liked it!! I’ll be sure to make a part 2 :)
i'm currently 16 and hoping to do the programme in 2021 lol

I never knew there was a Christmas store by the Muppets. The only one I knew of is in Downtown Disney.
Yeah!! It’s tucked right around the corner by Mama Melrose’s and it’s super small and cute ☺️
Good video but speaking a collector whenever I buy anything I do one in mint condition personally don't collect Star Wars stuff but I do know that that stuff does sell for alot especially outside the US so i kinda understand where he is coming from
I get that but Disney has the limitation policy to prevent people buying just for the purpose of selling and therefore making money off the company
have you ever had to tell someone "have a disney day"?
Lol no I’ve just thought it
Awesome video...so interesting!
Bruce Liggett glad you enjoyed it ☺️
This was uploaded on my birthday lol 😂
LOL IMAGINE if Indiana Jones went 101 (or 102 I don't remember the codes) that would have been awful. Hopefully she made it. 😬
Lol there’s no way she made it but I wouldn’t put it past that show to be cancelled last minute either 😂
