    Student Doctor Mayorga attends COM 2026 at the KC campus, and is from Frisco, TX originally. SD Mayorga graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas in 2021 with a bachelor's in biochemistry and minor in French. Before attending KCU, he was a medical lab assistant/phlebotomist (actually at Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers not too far from Joplin). This past Summer SD Mayorga was selected for the Wenner Summer Medical Student Research Fellowship at Children's Mercy in Kansas City where he worked on the project he is presenting in Children's Mercy's neonatal infectious disease lab. Aside from that project, he also also collaborates with UMKC medical students and faculty analyzing Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) pediatric cancer data about pediatric thoracic neuroblastoma incidence by race, sex, and year. SD Mayorga is the vice-president of KCU's Latino Medical Student Association chapter this past school year. Some of his hobbies include playing guitar, mountain biking, and playing soccer with friends.
