    David thrived on stage and it appeared that all his worries washed away while he was performing. Not only did he sing, but he played guitar, drums and piano and wrote songs. Throw in kindness and a beautiful soul, and you have David Cassidy.💖💕❣️❤️🧡💛💚💙💜✨💫😘

    ive just come across this video - thank you its amazing - a few weeks ago I found an old partridge cd in the car and thought I would play it. I saw him at Wembley in 73 and he was my idol - it brought back memories. now the age of 66 I am just appreciating his voice and have started to look back over his life as missed a lot of it and didnt follow him and agree he was totally underestimated, multi talented - amazing voice and lucky enough to see him again in Blood Bros in London and he was amazing - seems like he had twenty good years from 1990 to 2010 his son being the best of his life but I think he never got over his dad not accepting him and not giving him his love - that was his inner demon. RIP a wonderful man

      he worked to death , his wife sue stayed at home for 25 years as soon as son beau got 18 david did his own thing which sadley led to his demise ie drinking...he only stayed with her for beau.

      loved him ..when in uk in 73 him strolling round sion house singing day dreamer i still have the clip...hands in back pockets looking georgeous and moody..bless him, ...did you know he was half german on dads side, i think mix heritage gives a sharpness and a extra dimension of beauty in a way...ps they had to film daydreamer at 5am as not to alert fans so he wouldnt be mobbed.

    The 2000’s is a happy/sad video of the career highlights and life in the 2000’s of an amazing man, with a few surprises thrown in there. A little trivia on the last full song: the intro to that song is DC in ‘04. I hope you all love it as much as I loved doing this video. ♥️
    A quick note: all the decade videos are definitely worth a look. The 90’s Coming Full Circle got a little overshadowed by how cool the last three videos are. The 90’s was DC’s most professionally satisfying and probably emotionally at peace he ever got. You won’t be disappointed.

      He loved Susan but in his own words his first love was Meredith Baxter from the age of 13. Listen this link from the Elliot Mintz interview tapes in 1974. He is talking about Meredith Baxter. He was completely mesmerized by her. This forever changed how David viewed relationships with women and why he would never allow himself to go there with Susan. ua-cam.com/video/tzeZpQ5JxCA/v-deo.html

    Now you have made me cry..Amazing video a true labour of love. You've chosen such fantastic DC's performances and songs so special for him and for us , fans too, "Cry" "I Am a Clown" , "Ain't.." OMG, he still had such a voice, he looked different every decade, but he always was himself, he didn't pretend.And you have remembered about including his last tv role.. And this button..btw Andrew K. shouldnt have played DC, he didnt have David's sex appeal at all. And to finish with "Wish You Were Here" from "Last Session"..And those great pics. Thank you and..big hug from me.

    • @SM_6861
      @SM_6861  5 років тому +4

      That was a labor of love for me, you’re right about that. I love all decades of DC, not just the young years. I didn’t want his last years to define his whole career. It literally kills me when I see someone say he was an old drunk has-been, when he’s just having fun on stage. The guy they got to play him in the movie was too stiff and obviously didn’t have his charisma or looks. You really seem to get where I’m coming from on these videos. ♥️

      @@SM_6861 And there are others for whom DC is just a pretty face from the 70s and a pop singer. I must confess I wrote a book on him and some no fans read it, and they say "Interesting but we heard ITILY and Cherish , do you really like such music? You liked Led Zeppeilin in the 70s" And it makes me angry, bc if someone has really read my book should know that DC could sing everything, every genre, pop, rock , soul blues , jazz ..anything. You can't listen just to ITILY (from 1970) and say - this is David Cassidy, bc its not true.

    • @SM_6861
      @SM_6861  5 років тому +4

      Graszka you are completely right. That’s the thing about him, he could sing the heck out of any genre. What is your book called? You can’t define what he did his whole career by one song or the horrible end of his life. He really accomplished a lot despite some really big emotional hurdles. Yeah, we all mess up and he did, but he didn’t give up, until the end.

      @@SM_6861 It's called "Don't Call Me a Former Teen Idol" you know , his own words. The idea was to show how much he achived, done and I used articles , eye witnesses' accounts , read and watched really everything. Just one day opened my laptop and worked for 3 months, like this book was in my head , there are a lot of info in it, the titles of the songs are the titles of the chapters also I included some lyrics , ..the last song is Ricky's Tune " just close your eyes and let me run away...I guess this is good-bye" It was a nightmare this last chapter . What happened after this. He was so successful up to 2000 it seems. Interviews, writing, writing, producing, performing and so confident. So many interviews and never a sign of sadness. Then came the alcohol. Why. How tragic. What a life he led.

      It’s not so baffling when you dig into it. He battled abandonment issues from his father, severe alcoholism and depression all his life, compounded by his extreme fame and unhappy marriages. He really tried to hold it together in his 40s and early 50s and was very successful. Thank God he had those years or we would’ve lost him a whole lot sooner. When things started to snowball on him in his mid 50s he self medicated and lost complete control of his sobriety that was always hanging by a thread. In the end it was like he gave up trying. He told his someone those last years he felt dead inside. He was an extremely talented and complicated man that never found his happiness outside of being on that stage.
