I always loved his cute laugh. His whole face would light up and he’d look so happy. He was a beautiful man for a long time. It’s sad what he went through and unfortunately self medicated with alcohol to his death. He will always be my first love. I truly hope he made his peace with God and has finally found the peace, love and joy he always dreamed of ❤
David was so special--much more gifted than he was given credit. He had a unique charisma. He was a bright star from an early age, and even through difficulties like addiction he remained a bright shining star with real talents.
A gifted singer and writer. WOMEN READ THIS, AS U CAN ALL SEE, 80% OF THE COMMENTS HERE ARE FROM WOMEN. WHAT AM I SAYING? JEALOUSY HELPED DESTROY THIS GUY, EVEN HIS OWN FATHER RESENTED HIM, HIS LOOKS, SUCCESS, TALENT.EVEN HIS HAIR. WAS A BETTER SINGER THAN BON JOVI, JUSTIN BEEB, ETC... AS GOOD AS THE BEST OF THE 70S SINGERS WHICH IS SAYING A LOT. JUST TO NICE A GUY, HONEST AND GENEROUS. TO SENSITIVE A GUY MAN. EVEN THOSE JERKS STEALING FROM HIM PROBABLY DID IT MORE OUT OF ENVY THAN GREED. R.I.P DAVID. THE CHICKS MISS YA BUDDY. AND DUDES LIKE ME, WHO APPRECIATED YOUR OBVIOUS TALENT, BUT NEVER RESENTED IT.
I am a dude that appreciates his talents as well. Sure, I like hard rock and metal....Van Halen, Boston, Ace Frehley (list goes on)....but have always been able to appreciate the likes of David Cassidy, Davy Jones, Ricky Nelson etc. Took a lot of guff for it in school but never cared. Funny how so many guys are so insecure about their manhood they can't engage in the fandom of a male performer that's charismatic and attractive. So bizarre.... Cassidy was a gifted singer and talented musician. He deserves more props than he ever got. Miss you David, you were a genuine great and a legend!
@@garyhill2740 THIS!!! I am a single mom of one son, it pains me to see watch him struggle because “it’s not okay for men to express their emotions”. David and my son, as so many others, have a lot in common with the “absence” of their fathers. It deeply affects a child when a parent is absent. He never got over that. Kudos to you for saying this.
Could not agree more!! He was truly a mega talent yet it only became visible during The Partridge Family years. Blood Brothers too, but not the level of recognition he GENUINELY deserved. Angel face! Now he's got his Heavenly wings. Now I believe, he's a true angel. And I'll love him forever.
He got, and threw away, millions of dollars. I'm thinking you thought Keith Partridge was a sweet, sensitive, loving, honest person, and somehow think that was David Cassidy. I don't think Susan Dey appreciated David throwing her under the bus in David's tell all book. In fact, she refused to speak to him for the rest of his life because of it.
I knew David and you are spectacularly wrong. I adored him but he was violently narcissistic and self-absorbed. And he could be horribly abusive when drunk, which was often in later years. Ryan Cassidy (and to a slightly lesser extent, Patrick), are the angelic Cassidy brothers.
It breaks your heart to hear how he was exploited so much...I recall his 1974 tour in Australia, we were all so in love with everything about him. I still cannot believe how the last years of his life, where he should have been sitting pretty and enjoying the fruits of his labour, instead he suffered poor health and bankruptcy. It shouldn't have ended that way to such a beautiful man. Makes me cry to see how he self destructed. Be at peace now David, you sure deserve it xx
It makes you wonder, why so many in the industry didn't want to give David a completely fair shake, in terms of acknowledging his diverse talents? By the time he starred in Blood Brothers, I think it was all starting to improve; but really, you have to perhaps conclude that with David's extraordinary good looks, they didn't want to acknowledge his full range of gifts (just like many also do, with very stunning women).
David was such a sweet and gorgeous soul. He was complex, true, but he also cared about people and just wanted to find that one elusive Love of a Lifetime. Rest in paradise, sweet man.
I have fond memories of watching the Partridge family and of course was smitten with David Cassidy. I enjoyed that interview as he seems like a really nice, honest guy. l was heartbroken when he passed away.
I love this interview. His adorable laugh at 5:03 with a quick lick of his lips, that's the David I will remember. His real laugh was infectious. May he rest in peace. See you later, David.
A gentle soul whose longing to be loved and admired for his true talent probably never was realized. He succumbed eventually to the alcoholism that also afflicted his late father whom David really never received the love from that he also longed for. When people don't love themselves, even when the receive the adulation of many, it's often not enough to save them from their demons. David deserved better than what he ended up getting from this world and his death was a tragedy. He was a truly talented man and he is missed.
He was one of the most beautiful and talented men that God ever put breath into. He was never treated right by his father, and so many people took advantage of him. He only wanted his father's acceptance and a peaceful life. He got neither one. RIP dear David. You earned it.
I am still totally gutted by everything that happened to our David, yes the most tragic death in the celebrity world because of the generosity of his Spiritual sould, his self deprecation and open down to earth honesty. He had integrity ....I might go on but better stop . RIP Dearest David always deserved only the best. Love , happiness and calm.
Can I just say his last wife should be ashamed of herself because he loved her so freaking much. I'm not saying this as a random fan I am saying this because I had tragic horrible life but I was beautiful and people don't understand that the curve of your teeth bones in your eyes and everything doesn't make you happy and then they make everything so superficial
So handsome. Such a nice guy. He had a beautiful voice. I had the biggest crush on him! I never missed The Partridge Family on Friday nights! I can't believe he's gone.
What a damn shame this nice guy left us. He gave us so much yet his MANAGEMENT took so much from him. I loved his talent . Whenever I hear his famous songs it takes me back to the early 70's and how good life seemed to be at that time.
So much presence, charisma and sophistication for someone so young, never gave a bad interview. Better looking than most women. Off all the recent celeb deaths, this has to be the most tragic
David may have experienced difficult times towards the end of his life, but he kept those boyish, youthful good looks and never stopped smiling. You will never be forgotten David, straight to Rock n Roll heaven xx
He seems so happy and relaxed here, at a time when things weren't going so well for him. I guess things were starting to turn around for him by this stage, it's wonderful to see this. Will miss him.
Sally Angus I agree Sally. David has never gotten the credit he deserves for his obvious talent. Being a singer & musician myself, it's not too difficult to identify the ones with talent. At least some talent of sorts. In David's case, his talent was wasted on The Partridge Family. Nothing against anybody else on the show, but other than David & Shirley, there was no other talent on the show...Lol. David can obviously sing, and he can play rthymn guitar. He was never really taken seriously because they knew they had the golden goose with his obvious good looks. So they decided to make themselves as much money as they could on his face alone, totally ignoring his musical abilities. And he's the coolest guy too. I have no idea how he ever kept that great attitude towards everyone that was trying to royally screw him. I feel so bad for him. He never, ever deserved to be treated the way he was treated. As far as I'm concerned, he went out with dignity, grace, elegance and class. R.I.P. David...Some of us know the talent you had, my friend!
Paul Sullivan . Paul... you put your thoughts into such beautiful and considered words. As you are a musician, you clearly understand... Am sure David would really appreciate your sentiments. He seems like a really cool fella over the decades. Go well ....and maybe play the odd, lesser known Cassidy song occassionally in a little tribute 🍥
Sally Angus Thank you Sally. Your words I appreciate too. Yes, I play guitar and drums, and I sing harmonies also. I enjoy doing it, although I don't make a living from it. I'm actually a martial arts instructor, but I do like to come home and play a little guitar or sing a bit just to unwind when I'm not running. I've been either playing guitar or singing since I've been a teenager... It certainly can be soothing when I need to relax. Unfortunately I'm not good enough to make a living out of it, so I guess I'll stick to what does make me a living...Lol Actually, you've inspired me to learn a Cassidy song or two! Thank you kindly...
Paul Sullivan .Good on you....it is great to have something to bring some peace and calm.... On that note, I might just go and put on some David Cassidy music! Merry chrissy 🎄 to you.
Sally Angus Thank you Sally. Very kind of you. Merry Christmas to you also my friend! You seem so incredibly sweet! (do you mind me asking where you come from Sally?) Thank you...
David never seemed to lose the appeal of what was him because his core was a guy who had a sense of humour ,kind n caring who like all of us only wanted to be loved for himself ...Too many people took advantage of him and I think that Fame played a huge part in his loneliness and not really finding peace and never lasting love ....Gone too soon at 67 ..Such a talent and will be remembered ...xo
That part about money was really moving and laid out well. This is a great interview, not just because David was so relaxed and honest, but the interviewer was also excellent.
He was beautiful his eyes tell so much What they did to him was appalling How they sleep and got away with it was disgusting God I would have loved and cherished him till the end
Nice interview! He sure looks tired here, very dark under eye area, he was so honest and tried to be positive even when it was obvious he was sad. He was a true tender heart and deserved so much better than he got.
David will forever be in my heart. Next to Elvis, my first love. He brought me such love, good music and solice during a tumultuous childhood. I was lucky to see him in concert during his mania years (which I’ll always treasure) and ultimately meet him in Vegas when he was in EFX. My heart breaks on how he lived his last few years of his life. I can hope and pray that my precious David is now ultimately in peace in heaven and singing with Elvis... nice thought, huh? Always, my sweet, Yours, D🍀❤️
I am so grateful for all the reports that are on youtube and that somebody has made available to us, because in Europe, after the time with the Partridge Family, when the big Hype was over, almost nothing was heard anymore from David ... thanks a lot!
I too did not hear a thing about David for donkeys years until about 15 years ago by chance via one those pop up adds that were advertising his then new CD called then and now or something like that. Everything came back and I was so happy to see him again now a mature man..still love him. Good Lord....Rip dearest David. Such an endearing human being .
Beautiful soul, I loved this because he explains that he loaned his money to people he trusted to at least remain loyal friends and they burned him. Now I really get why he was so down and isolated himself ending up on a friend’s sofa with nowhere to live. His confidence and security was broken many times. It affected him on every level. It was hard to watch his health deteriorate over the past 10 years I’ve been following him on his webpage. Heartbreaking. But this is good, it shows his child like hope rekindled. He’s an human being and vulnerable to self judgement like anyone. It’s awe inspiring to watch him stand up and be creative again. I focus on his positive energy. He made 3 major comebacks during his battle with alcohol. His loyal friend Danny Bonaduce said that takes incredible courage to do. He’s to be admired and given credit for this. Thank you for posting this, I’ve not seen David Cassidy so deferring before. He must respect the man interviewing him. I think he’s a great interviewer as well. Bless you David and all your faithful fans.
PS I just adore him, I wish I’d been his friend, I’d have been there for him. He was famous throughout the world though and I suppose some people wouldn’t know how to handle that. The truth is he can connect when he wants to and get right in to your soul even on tv and year ago this still affects me deeply, his smile, his striving and self-deprecation and his artistry. God bless David🕯💗🙏🏻
pleiadian13 I am a new fan, i am 36 years old and i watched PF when i was younger in the 90s. I didnt get that into it, to be honest! I preferred the Brady Bunch LOL! However, when David died and i began reading about his life and how he handled it, i was in awe. I bought his autobiography on Google play and i could not put it down. He was just a regular guy who wanted to act and have a simple life doing what he loved. I too would be terrified to be that famous, especially like in his case, when he wasnt seeking it. Getting to see who he was from his book, youtube videos, and fan stories (you guys are so great btw! So loyal and loving) I am now a big fan. I love his candor, sensitivity, and how relateable he came across in many interviews he gave. Im so sad that i became a fan after his death and will not be able to tell him personally what an admirable, inspirational and down to earth person he was! 💔 r.i.p.
Vanessa De Leon, yes, David was an incredibly talented and spiritual person. And a joy to follow, simply for those two things. I’m not surprised that you’ve found him. He left a lot for us to process and I thank him for all of it, even the difficult parts. The sound of his voice touches my heart even now. I am sad for what he had to endure and feel the videos here are a tremendous insight to his work and values, the mistakes in judgement. Unashamedly human, that’s what I love too💗 enjoy getting to know what we did as girls. I saw him when I was 11 performing. During the height of his fame I the partridge family. I had and memorised the PF album and Cherish by David Cassidy. I had a huge poster above my bed from the concert that literally made life worth living and at 10 years old we waited for every teeny bopper mag with info about David and the new photos! He was a well faceted personality. So much to love and admire.
David Cassidy's dream was to be a Rock-n-Roll star. He really didn't want to sing and strum "fluff"...but he was so good at it anyway. Love him. Have loved him since I was a little girl. RIP guy. The world misses you!
His Brother Shawn Cassidy! 1/2 brother LOVED HIM SOOOO MUCH. Look at other you clips of the talent they had singing together. You can tell they were classically trained. David was too ! He may not have had Shirley in early years but he certainly did though out his life. His Father being a famous actor. He fought alcohol and and kidney and liver failure. Rip David! True talent ! Good hearted person and funny ! Great Humor until the end!
Gorgeous man and so uniquely humble, genuine and uninhibited. He was so very special. I suppose his time was up at 67 but I feel like he had more life in him had he come to terms with it all❤️❤️❤️
The story of David Cassidy is such a sad one. He was exploited by so many people. It is a pity he did not have a strong father figure to guide him through those years. His life may have turned out very differently.
Thank you so much for posting this interview. In 1982 I lived only 180 km from Calgary. I was still a teen but had been a D.C. fan since I was 7. How could I not have known that my first love was so close? Now it will never happen. 😢
Brenda, I understand your sadness with not getting to see David Cassidy. I never got to see him either. I am very, very sad about that. And I am mad at all these people who are saying bad things about him!!
Starr Brannon Hi Starr. Thank you for your message. I am glad to be able to see so much of David through videos of him on the internet. I'm saddened that there are so many negative comments about this man, someone who's been described as being a wonderful person (except as a husband - even his brother Patrick said this in an interview). I've seen lots of videos in which David is telling his audience that the world needs more kindness. May I suggest that you do something kind for yourself - ignore the haters. There will always be an abundance of that type of person, and far too few of those whom we need in our life, and in this world. Many blessings to you and I wish health and happiness for you in the new year.
Brenda Mirasty..... I was very lucky to see David Cassidy in concert in London UK back in the 70’s! I loved him back then... my bedroom wall was covered with his pictures..... I love and miss him now.....RIP.... I’m really Sorry you never got the opportunity to see him.....
David was such a workaholic. I could not believe that Donald Trump called him a prima Donna on Celebrity Apprentice. Donald told David he was too nice and that is why he fired him. Donald wanted mean and nasty guys working for him. I am glad David was nice. I am sure David is in Heaven. We fans will never forget David.
So young and handsome So much talent and fame. I saw him in 2012 and he was high or something Half the audience walked out in a 400 seat showroom in Vegas. I am so sorry David. I hope you are at peace. You will always have my heart.
Such a nice guy in a ruthless Hollywood and music industry surrounded by sharks. Pity he never found true love and happiness yet his beautiful songs were about love💕💔💘
He is very articulate, thoughtful and very polite and in sharing here, he shows us a wealth of what he genuinely is all about . He was so underutilized in celebrity life and not appreciated nor recognized for his talent and intelligence, AT ALL. And here he is so insightful, irreverent and brutally honest . His Angel's wings are shining brightly in well deserved compassion and God's embrace IN HEAVEN now. Rest in peace dearest heart. Finally, you are appreciated in the Higher Being's Kingdom of wealth, care and love. 💖🙏😇
this man was not a happy person. he had many demons that plague his soul life heart. He sung his hurt a emotions out in in songs. just like Elvis Presley did. they were both were good singers. actors. I loved them both. rip dear Elvis. you to David. w God.
My sister was 10 and I was 12 in 1970. We bickered back and forth Friday nights to watch "The Name of the Game"(my show) or "The Partridge Family"(her show) UNTIL Dad got her a TV set(a Panasonic 19" B&W set take took FOREVER to warm up and longer when the tubes were getting old)& I'll always hold David Cassidy & the Partridge family in the highest regards. You are like an older brother to me when I reminisce about my “groovy” Brady Bunch wannabe childhood of the early 70’s. R.I.P. David and thanks for the second TV set!
so sad ... :-( I think he was very generous and kindhearted, so it was very easy for others to take advantage of that :-( and I guess he never got what he was looking for: unconditional love
a man who had Everything but Love a Peace of mind but we have to live by all the choices we make. Good times catches up w you when your older. fame a fortune doesn't buy happiness a unconditional love. it only buys material things a occupies our time. it also doesn't buy salvation. that's what David needed God. a the love of a good woman. I hope at the end he found his peace w God. a that he's in Heaven. rip David. well miss you.
Sandra, I agree with you in that money does not get you love & peace.....and God. I, so very much, hope that he asked Jesus into his heart before he passed away~and is in Heaven right now. I am very sad that he never found a good woman....none of the 3 that he had was worth anything.
David had lots of money stolen from him --like 8 million in the early 70s-it was one of the reasons he worked so long, he had to start over and rebuild
Sandra, I have been so heartbroken, wondering if David accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior before he left this earth. Imagine how many people he could've led to the Lord with his beautiful voice if he had known the Lord when he was younger. I hope that he did know the Lord and is in heaven now, finally experiencing the unconditional love and peace of God and is singing with the angels.
+Shonna Hall yeah him a Elvis Presley they both had great voices but Elvis was raised to love a have faith in God. I hope they both found their peace w God because their lives were so lonely a mixed up people used them both. for money.
Liked him lots and it's all in the writing production etc. I could see him doing something little more ironic and understated which would shown his humor and skill like a Komisky Method thing.
I saw the Partridge family at Marinland of the Pacific and I had a crush on David but nobody loved David as much as David!!! Unfortunately but I will always luv David!!!
I SAW DAVID CASSIDY AT THE MGM IN VEGAS ,HE WALKED RIGHT PAST ME AND I KNEW WHO HE WAS..I DIDNT GET HIS AUTO GRAPH BUT NOW I WISH I DID..HES HANDSOME..
I believe he wanted to be in more serious a dramatic movies like Elvis did but when that didn't happen they both were disappointed a threw them selves more in to touring singing a singing live in person.
I was just reading an article about how David pretty much turned out like his dad Jack did. Basically, not having much to do with his daughter Katie. Just like Jack wanted nothing to do with David. Apparently, he was terribly jealous...So sad.
I never understood his relationship with his daughter. The mother raised her, they lived in different states . . . didn't even meet her until she was 13. Don't understand what happened there. But I don't believe David Cassidy was ever jealous of his daughter, unless I'm misreading what you wrote. He always said he was proud of her. Jack Cassidy was jealous of David however, never said he was proud of him, that's very true.
I would have left The Partridge Family the moment they added Ricky Segall to the show. Everyone feels Ricky Segall ruined the show, even though he was written out after 13 or 14 episodes - because viewers were complaining about the uncute 4-year old.
Someone's got it very wrong. David Cassidy never"left" the Partridge Family. He was on right up until the very last episode in 1974. He appears on every episode of the series. The Partridge Family "left" its stars when it was suddenly cancelled in the Spring of 1974.
I thought they canceled it because he wasn't coming back. He didn't want to do it anymore. I think they were thinking of getting Rick Springfield to maybe replace him, but it didn't happen. He had a contract, he fulfilled it, and then it was over.
Yes. David Cassidy was a big part of my childhood. But as he said, he almost became a ghost. There one minute and gone the next. Just disappeared off the radar for a while. But for some of us in far away countries, it seemed for good. Perhaps in America, it was possible to see him pop up in other ways in the entertainment world. He was an awesome talent, had a great heart for people. Sorely missed. RIP David. ☺💖
it's kinda sad that he tried so hard to distance himself from the partridge family and then ended up spending the last years of his life singing all those songs.
@@annabellem.4014 I totally agree. he has a great voice style and delivery -and look - those songs were written by professional songwriters including Neil Diamond....and the "Wrecking Crew" -- a crowd of top notch studio musicians who graced many pop songs then -- did all the playing -- but I give David total credit for making the songs come alive through his talent -- and his Keith persona - which, of course, was only a character. I lost track of David eons ago -- and I was saddened to hear he had such a rough time -- but when I consider his blood family that their fate- I must say I'm not surprised. The only stable person in his life seemed to be Shirley Jones -- and she was just an actress playing his mother -- and she WAS in real mother in law ---his mind got messed with too. RI{P David Cassidy... THANKS!
Bernard Slade also created or developed shows like LOVE ON A ROOFTOP, THE FLYING NUN, BRIDGET LOVES BERNIE, and THE GIRL WITH SOMETHING EXTRA. I think THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY was his most successful tv creation in terms of time on tv & episodes produced. I think "Same Time, Next Year" was his first theatrical success.
Rose Petal. I agree. Shirley had stated that Jack suffered from a type of mental illness. He had Bio-Polar. I don't think David had that. But I do feel he was suffering from depression. Because of his Father. One of the real singers that sang with David and who also wrote the song I'll meet you halfway. He said they always knew when David either saw his Father or talked to his Father. He stated every time after David saw or talked to his Father. He would show up to record, and those were the nights they would play really late. David would say, We have to start over or We need to do that again , always saying he messed up. The Man who wrote the song, said David didn't mess up. Because his Father was always putting David down, even the way he had his hair styled or make smart comments about the clothes David wore. I watched an interview Shirley had done. She stated that her and Jack were having some problems and She wanted to work it out with Jack. She said they were sitting at the Dinning Room table. They were talking and then Jack suddenly stood up. He said to Shirley file for a Divorce. Shirley said no, she didn't want a Divorce, She wanted to make their marriage work. As Jack started to walk out the door, he said he didn't want to hurt her anymore. In my opinion, I think he had a hard time accepting how Famous Shirley was in her Own Right. And how extremely Famous David had become. Shirley said Shaun took it the hardest out of the boys. In my opinion, that was one of the reasons, David and Shaun were very close. Shaun hadn't started his Career yet. According to Shirley that Jack did love all his Sons. He just wasn't sure how to be a Dad to them. She said he was starting to get close to Patrick and then when She had Ryan. Jack was closer to Ryan. She also stated Jack wanted a Daughter. I believe Shirley wasn't able to have any more Children. Listening to Shirley talk about the reason why She wanted to do a television series, so She could spend more time with her Children. And She didn't want to take them traveling all around with her, especially with them being in School. On several interviews She would share how when She came home, the first thing She wanted to do was see her boys, get hugs and kisses from them. Listen to how their day went. Jack would say, you can talk to the kids later. I want to talk with you about your day. To me it seemed like Jack was jealous of anyone who Shirley gave more attention to. Shirley had said many times Jack was her first. He was her Soul mate. She said, She loved doing everything for him. She also stated he helped her to do several things with her voice, and She also gave Jack a lot of credit for helping her grow with her acting. Shirley was a great actress even before She met Jack. In my opinion, Shirley is the type to give more credit, than accept it for herself. She knew by saying Jack helped her to do various things with her voice. Or when She received great compliments on her acting, when She did her Musicals. She would give credit to Jack too. From various articles that I read. Jack had a hard time accepting that his Wife's Career and his Oldest Son's Career were both excelling. And Jack seemed only able to get guest appearances on various shows. It's so sad that he let his pride get in the way of his relationship with his whole Family. What is really sad, is Jack and Shirley were only divorced a little over a year. When the horrible tragedy happened. On one of Shirley's interviews, the Journalist had asked Shirley, if She thought if Jack would of gotten help for his drinking, did Shirley think her and Jack would of gotten back together? Shirley replied no. And that She also felt She would of married Marty so fast either. She went on to say it wasn't because of Marty. When Shirley received the news about Jack. She was in a state of shock. She felt they all were. David was 25 yrs old and hadn't spoke to his Father for close to a year. Shaun was about 15 or 16 yrs old. Patrick was about 13 or 14 yrs and Ryan was about 12. Shirley had stated during that interview, that Jack was the love of her life and probably will always be. Then She said (at the time of that interview, her and Marty were reaching as many years of being married as the same amount of her and Jack. Shirley stated She picked two very good men to marry. She said they both are really great husbands and they made her laugh a lot. Especially Marty. He is a lot of fun. She told the Journalist that even her Own Family and Friends thought they made an unlikely Couple. Shirley said that was how they came up for the title of their book they wrote together. Shirley. did a great job raising her Son's. And She was really great with David. She understood his what David was going through and his Mother. She even tried to be there for Danny as well. Not to forget David's Fans showing up on her lawn. Hoping to see David. And the time Ryan was riding his bike out in front of their home. And a car full of sightseers, who happened to ask Ryan if he knew where any stars lived? And Ryan replied, well ya my Parents are famous and We live right here. Park the car, my Mom will let you in. Sally Jesse Raphael was right when. She said that they are one crazy bunch. Shirley replied She loves it, She is one happy Woman. Not many People from Hollywood say that. Look how unhappy David was. Hopefully now he is at peace with his Mom and Dad. Shirley is so proud of all of her Sons and her Grandchildren. God Bless. all of them.
I always loved his cute laugh. His whole face would light up and he’d look so happy. He was a beautiful man for a long time. It’s sad what he went through and unfortunately self medicated with alcohol to his death. He will always be my first love. I truly hope he made his peace with God and has finally found the peace, love and joy he always dreamed of ❤
His singing and his good looks made me a fan. How fleeting life is…… youth is really a gift.
David was so special--much more gifted than he was given credit. He had a unique charisma. He was a bright star from an early age, and even through difficulties like addiction he remained a bright shining star with real talents.

Good grief. He killed HIMSELF. He HAD it all, and threw it away... @@timpenfield5
David Cassidy Was A Very Gifted Actor/Singer He Had Great Comedic-Skills Too. Any Episode Of The Partridge Family Is Proof Of It. RIP David.
It was rumored he was a tucas bandit.
David deserved more than he ever got ,such a sweet, sensitive, loving, honesty person.
Always loved him like he was my big brother; horrified and heart-broken the way he ended up
I knew David and you are spectacularly wrong. I adored him but he was violently narcissistic and self-absorbed. And he could be horribly abusive when drunk, which was often in later years. Ryan Cassidy (and to a slightly lesser extent, Patrick), are the angelic Cassidy brothers.
He had a beautiful charm about him. When he smiled his eyes smiled too. Seems like such a nice guy.
Yes his eyes smiled is the perfect description.
"when Irish eyes are smiling..." ;-)
@@pleiadian13 - you're very observant. The eyes tell it all and this was a good interview.
What a beautiful thing to write! And so true.
@James Henderson Yep that's why Shirley Jones left his father. He was a drunk too.
He mas stroke and Old .
Tetrahydroisoquinoline THIQ =
It’s a digestive dysfunction. It’s not their fault. Look it up.
He made his own bed, sorry but it's the truth
It makes you wonder, why so many in the industry didn't want to give David a completely fair shake, in terms of acknowledging his diverse talents? By the time he starred in Blood Brothers, I think it was all starting to improve; but really, you have to perhaps conclude that with David's extraordinary good looks, they didn't want to acknowledge his full range of gifts (just like many also do, with very stunning women).
He was teary eyed while he talking about the mishandling of his money, RIP David thank you for the memories.
David was such a sweet and gorgeous soul. He was complex, true, but he also cared about people and just wanted to find that one elusive Love of a Lifetime. Rest in paradise, sweet man.
RIP DAVID CASSIDY..U WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN..
See you later, David.
fluffandskipper love his laugh!
I believe you. His laugh is infectious.
G
Melanie Griffith does the same thing on her lips.
Yes Ruth and just like Elvis, had it all but still a very unhappy person. So sad.
Close
Can I just say his last wife should be ashamed of herself because he loved her so freaking much. I'm not saying this as a random fan I am saying this because I had tragic horrible life but I was beautiful and people don't understand that the curve of your teeth bones in your eyes and everything doesn't make you happy and then they make everything so superficial
The David I remember was a wonderful, sweet, sincere friend. David, I will miss you my friend until we meet again in heaven.
So handsome. Such a nice guy. He had a beautiful voice. I had the biggest crush on him! I never missed The Partridge Family on Friday nights! I can't believe he's gone.
I love everything about David Cassidy.. RIP David.
Yes,so true.
David may have experienced difficult times towards the end of his life, but he kept those boyish, youthful good looks and never stopped smiling. You will never be forgotten David, straight to Rock n Roll heaven xx
Beautiful man beautiful voice ❤️ RIP David 💔 We will never forget someone who gave us so much to remember 👏😢
good looking, great voice, good actor.... and my first love... rest and peace David.
My kind of man. Wonderful inside and out. He never gives a bad interview.
Bit he gás addictions...
Bit he gás addictions.
But he gás addictions...
so cute and handsome!!! very talented too!!! very underrated singer !
So gorgeous and unpretentious. Thanks for posting. You will live on David, through the availability of these clips.
He seems so happy and relaxed here, at a time when things weren't going so well for him. I guess things were starting to turn around for him by this stage, it's wonderful to see this. Will miss him.
This is amazing. Thankyou for posting. Such a beautiful talented guy who is sadly missed but always loved.
Unfortunately I'm not good enough to make a living out of it, so I guess I'll stick to what does make me a living...Lol
Actually, you've inspired me to learn a Cassidy song or two!
That you for posting this, such a beautiful man😊
David deserved what he got. Real recognition towards the end, because he was loved in so many areas and ways.
So handsome , RIP always will be loved
Always liked david cassidy he was a good singer and actor miss him always.
What a nice well spoken fellow, that David.
After watching this. The song he wrote "There'll come a time" really breaks your heart. He wrote it about himself.
i love that one
That part about money was really moving and laid out well. This is a great interview, not just because David was so relaxed and honest, but the interviewer was also excellent.
DC would light up a room. RIP.
He was beautiful his eyes tell so much
What they did to him was appalling
How they sleep and got away with it was disgusting
God I would have loved and cherished him till the end
Nice interview! He sure looks tired here, very dark under eye area, he was so honest and tried to be positive even when it was obvious he was sad. He was a true tender heart and deserved so much better than he got.
David was truly honest answering all of his questions and yes he definitely deserved more but sadly he was ripped off with millions RIP sweet angel
He ruined HIMSELF...
What a lovely, lovely man. and beautiful too of course.
David, your message is well heard, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I miss your fun loving way.
Always, my sweet,
Yours,
D🍀❤️
Yes, I understand that. He was a bright light in my own difficult childhood.
I just love his face very charming and his pleasant smiles really attracts women. He has a talent that made him popular in then whole world.
I am so grateful for all the reports that are on youtube and that somebody has made available to us, because in Europe, after the time with the Partridge Family, when the big Hype was over, almost nothing was heard anymore from David ... thanks a lot!
AFS1959 Totally agree. Thank god for the internet and YT!
Wanna hear the odd part? I didn't hear anything either, and I live in the Midwest US.
:-(
I too did not hear a thing about David for donkeys years until about 15 years ago by chance via one those pop up adds that were advertising his then new CD called then and now or something like that. Everything came back and I was so happy to see him again now a mature man..still love him. Good Lord....Rip dearest David. Such an endearing human being .
His daughter is an actress/ singer. He was probably just doing the family thing.
He is an class act and true showman ,......😄
Bless you David and all your faithful fans.
pleiadian13 one of the best interviews i've seen of anyone. He seems so honest.
I agree completely.🕯💗
Chewy Ltd love these little anecdotes from people thanx 😃
His Brother Shawn Cassidy! 1/2 brother LOVED HIM SOOOO MUCH. Look at other you clips of the talent they had singing together. You can tell they were classically trained. David was too ! He may not have had Shirley in early years but he certainly did though out his life. His Father being a famous actor. He fought alcohol and and kidney and liver failure. Rip David! True talent !
Good hearted person and funny ! Great Humor until the end!
He was a great talent!

Thank you for posting this.
Gorgeous man and so uniquely humble, genuine and uninhibited. He was so very special. I suppose his time was up at 67 but I feel like he had more life in him had he come to terms with it all❤️❤️❤️
David was such a sweetheart. To bad what happened to him.So missed by so many.
What a sweet soul.
We fans will never forget David.
he was an underated talent!!!
So young and handsome
So much talent and fame. I saw him in 2012 and he was high or something
Half the audience walked out in a 400 seat showroom in Vegas.
I saw him in Vegas while he was doing the EFX.. I think he was in his 40s. a great show!
this man was not a happy person. he had many demons that plague his soul life heart. He sung his hurt a emotions out in in songs. just like Elvis Presley did. they were both were good singers. actors. I loved them both. rip dear Elvis. you to David. w God.
I will allways remember u David. Beautiful man. Lovely voice X X
David was really a nice guy. He was just himself.
I love you...
I miss you...
Always 💋❣️
aww you can see the hurt in his eyes when he speaks about the people who took his money.
so sad ... :-( I think he was very generous and kindhearted, so it was very easy for others to take advantage of that :-( and I guess he never got what he was looking for: unconditional love
AFS1959 💔
Such a lovely human being 💝
Mysweetobsesion wore his ❤on his sleeve.
6:45-6:56 :'-(
He was so amazing. 💖
a man who had Everything but Love a Peace of mind but we have to live by all the choices we make.
I think ego gets in the way.
I hope they both found their peace w God because their lives were so lonely a mixed up people used them both. for money.
It’s so sad how they stole money from him. They should all be ashamed of them selves
He was so gorgeous here. 🌹
I always wondered what happened with his financial situation. First interview I've seen of him talking about that people took his money.
Liked him lots and it's all in the writing production etc. I could see him doing something little more ironic and understated which would shown his humor and skill like a Komisky Method thing.
Didn’t know he left the Partridge family. Only saw the show a few time.......awwwwwww😭
I saw the Partridge family at Marinland of the Pacific and I had a crush on David but nobody loved David as much as David!!! Unfortunately but I will always luv David!!!
hard to believe he was 32. gorgeous.
Nice man and very talented. Sorry he's gone. RIP DC.
rip dear david
He has pure perfection
Blonde Dancer NYC Yes, that's what I meant to say. I believe I worded it wrong. Thank you for correcting me. ♡
He would have been fantastic in the movie musicals that were made back in the 40-50ies. Extremely talented guy!
Damn he was cute back then !!!
I would have left The Partridge Family the moment they added Ricky Segall to the show. Everyone feels Ricky Segall ruined the show, even though he was written out after 13 or 14 episodes - because viewers were complaining about the uncute 4-year old.
David Cassidy, looks exactly like his father,..! Exactly,..!
That's only because they couldn't continue without him, they knew it would never work. He told them he was leaving, so the show was cancelled.
@@LuvTadnDixie You're right. It only finished because they knew it would never work without him.
RIP David. ☺💖
Hi
it's kinda sad that he tried so hard to distance himself from the partridge family and then ended up spending the last years of his life singing all those songs.
jay wire fan base wanted to hear those songs, and he had debts to pay off...although, things didn't go as he hoped, sadly♡ RIP DC♡
I think those songs from The Partridge Family were the best work he ever did. I loved them then and now.
Ahhhh I loved him soooo much💖💖💋 ADDICTION IS SUCH A CRUEL DISEASE. I HATE IT SO MUCH 👹👿
YOUR IN PEACE MY LOVE 💖💖💋
my 1st poster was David Cassidys.I was in 3rd grade.lol.
I think David was in a lot of pain as he'd always tried to prove himself to his father who was jealous of his fame.
Rose Petal.
