Dude, the amount of fun you have with that car and how basic and budget most of the stuff is, I’m considering getting myself into one. Love the RX8 content so far

I lived in those forums back in the day when I bought my 04 RX8 in 2008. And I still have the car and the forum addiction ahha

The tinted headlights look really good with the color of the car!

dude you're right, you are really tall. i was talking to you at dgrr. you were standing in the street, and i was on the sidewalk. that was almost enough to put me at eye level with you

I'm so confused. It's a US spec LHD RX8 and clearly at 3:55 you're sitting in a LHD car shifting with your right arm. But at 5:12+ on the road you're sitting in a RHD car shifting with your left arm. OMG I can't do the math. Just for my own sanity please explain what I'm missing. PS: keep the stock seat until you want to install at least a roll hoop.

Probably the camera just flipped, kinda like the front facing cameras on the phones.

Haha it is exactly that. I didn't have my 360 cam with me or my second gopro. So it was my front facing phone camera haha

You must be referencing Dave Pratt, (aka Speed Academy), and their Modified Magazine project RX-8. Old but good information there.

Also, if you’re going to use an FIA approved fixed-back you really should go all the way. No half-measures. You’ll also lose your side impact bags by removing the stock seat, and there’s already no b-pillar, so that roll bar plays double duty. Stick with stock, go with a non-fixed-back seat (with better bolstering) or go full safety-send.

I'm thinking full safety is the way to go. Would really like to add a fire suppression system at the same time

could the control arm adjustment bolts be traded out for camber bolts and get a little more out of them?

Nice! I want to try out those alignment specs for the next time I track. I just did one on tuesday. SO good, but car was too loud with mid pipe so killed some momentum, but still good else where.
Im curious what you do with the safety. I wanted a bucket, but research said no unless you do a serious roll bar.
I am a bit lucky that im just 5'8 and fit fine enough. Also having power seats, I was able to scoot back, lock the seatbelt and then move up so that actually held me in place pretty well.
I searched around the forums and found that people recommend going weld in as opposed to bolt in due to strength

    • @RADPotential
      @RADPotential  2 роки тому

I think a weld in will be a safer option. Although my buddy crashed/rolled his rx8 with a bolt in and it saved his life. No bucket seat though.
I am excited to feel the specs too. On the back roads last night it felt amazing. That video is coming out today!
      What midpipe are you running?

@@RADPotential thats good to hear man. I really wanted bolt in because you know street car, but definitely weld in is safer.
I wanted a bhr pipe, but at the time they were sold out or not available, so i bought a cheap ebay one. Just gotta replace the shitty resonator it has. Second muffler, a silencer, or "Laguna Pipes" haha

@@psychicer5022 i installed a double resonated midpipe from ryan rotary and i'm very satisfied with it, barely a bump in volume, but way nicer and deeper sound (stock exhaust otherwise). Worth checking out!
