This is exactly the route I've been thinking of doing since I started getting back into cycling after a bout of illness, looks like it'll be fine on a gravel/adventure road bike (or whatever they are called now). I've ridden the climb from Carsington to the High Peak Trail before, it's a bit of a slog.

Hey Matt, It's a nice route, a bit of climbing is involved but it's not too severe and like you say the last climb is a bit of a slog ;)
All that said it's a good route once you have a few miles in your legs you should find it do-able. Enjoy the ride and let us know how it goes. Steve

after watching this video I decided to give it a go but start from middleton top , got to say it was a great ride apart from you forgot to mention has you ride on route 547 just pass the road ford you get stung by thousand of nettles has the path is so narrow lol, the hills on 547 where also hard to climb up but I like to thank you for having the time to put this video on has I would have never had done this ride, can I ask you what camera you use and how long is the battery life lasts in it, thank you again

HI, Simon glad you managed to try out one of the rides in our videos, and thanks for the feedback, to be honest, I get nettled on most of our rides, for some reason even the 100% road routes, go figure. I do know the path you mean and I think the last time we rode that path it had been cut back, so luck may play a part. :) I hope you will try out some of our other routes which are new to you. As to the cameras, I am on my second Sony AS100v, as I killed one going over the handlebars, which you can see in the later intro. We also have an AS30v, much cheaper at the time but tends to steam up. The battery's last around 2.5hour a piece, but they are pretty small and we currently have 9 :) Chers Steve
