    Beautiful! My childhood countryside. Love the stripes of mud down your backs Wheelers.

    Brought back lovely memories of a trip I made last August, not only was the route similar, so too was the weather! The scenery and the riding were fantastic despite the dampness from above and below, so much so that I am planning a return to the area this summer.

      Thanks for the comment Roger... We are looking forward to exploring more of the area too.👍

    Looks like you found some epic scenery there, and the iffy weather didn't spoil a great ride. Mind you, you did both look like you'd been run over by a motorbike at times there 😉
    Looks like you also got to see the famous Derbyshire Line Dancing Sheep rehearsing their routine too... 😆
    Good ride!

      @WheelersAtLarge  2 роки тому +2

      The sheep were definitely lining up for something, probably waiting for music to start. Yes a bit mucky but that's half the fun sometimes👍

    Excellent ride! You must not forget those batteries. Today I rode 20 miles into a building headwind on my road bike. Getting blasted home by tailwinds with gusts of 40mph was exciting! Sometimes things do go to plan! Wehaaaa!

      Well done David👍Tailwind? I thought that was a myth...😂😂 Cheers for the comment

    Cracking route Mike. Brave to do the hill from Hopton back up to the trail 😬 A shame we couldn't meet up. Btw Bradbourne means they are one of only a few places that did not suffer any losses through both World Wars. Doubly Thankful 😊👍🚴🏼‍♂️🚴‍♀️

      Thank you Nige, a miss communication between Julie and myself 🤣 on Bradbourne. Hills are only as hard as the speed you want to go up them, as you see we go slow and steady👍

    Nearer to me are the Brecon Beacons and Mid-Wales, but still, me and my wife have ventured further afield to the Peak District and absolutely love it.

      @@WheelersAtLarge at Gwynnos Forest as a start point and ride up to Afan Forest and back 50 -70 kms of uninterrupted gravel, even more there, I know a gravel rider who rode 180kms, 9 hours moving time in one day. I’m the 55km variety 😓👍🏼

    A fab area. Used to be a regular route when I lived in the Midlands in the ‘90’s. Hardly any riders back then. Plenty of disused railways in the Midlands.
