    Just found these videos. They are a great alternative to the video game type training film, which I do not care for. I love the English countryside and long to travel again, so while I am stuck here in Baltimore, I will continue to live out my dreams by watching these videos and riding my trainer.

    About 4 years ago I ran this route in three days. I was 52 at the time.

    I live in South Lakes (as was) and want to make this journey. Great video and I'm about to watch the second one - but, why in the penultimate scene do you (seem to) turn off the 'big roundabout' and up Windermere Road? That certainly isn't flat - whereas the continuing NCN700 is and takes you straight past the Darby Arms. Navigationally challenged? If so, I hope it was temporary! It does look (in the closing sequence) as if you are continuing along the NCN700, but I am not entirely sure. Anyway, great videos (apart from the awful - repetitive - 'musak'!) I'm very glad to have found this page!

      Cheers for the feedback Tomart, we always appreciate it when viewers take the time to comment, earlier this year we did Way of the Roses, a long distance route from Morecambe to Bridlington, that's a great route and easily doable on a road bike, I think John put some 25mm tyres on his bike. More info can be found here wayoftheroses.info/. stay tuned to the channel for more ride ideas. Thanks Steve

    I'm booked to do this route in September so found it useful to get a heads up on the terrain etc. It looks though my Dawes touring bike will handle the off-road sections ok. I'm curious about the two-way radios you use. Do you use them hand-held or with some kind of headset/microphone? They could be useful we get separated in traffic or an a hill climb. Thanks for the great video.

      Hi Peter, thanks for the comments. We have the second part of the route going live soon, well once I have finished the editing. You shouldn't have any issues on a Dawes tourer, at all. The radios we have are "Motorola TLKR T80 Extreme" they are great radios and the extreme version is pretty much weather proof. We clip them on to our hydro packs, and there is a safety strap that we put around our necks, basically, we just lift it up and talk into it. There are accessories available which make them more easily usable. Hope his helps. Steve

      Hi Steve. Thanks for the response. I hadn't thought of mounting the radios like that. Great idea and cool little radios. I look forward to part 2. Cheers Pete

      Peter did you do it on your Tourer? How was the off road terrain?

    • @peterleather6866
      @peterleather6866 3 роки тому +1

      @@Shadow1776 It was absolutely fine with my tourer. My buddy did it on a road bike and just took his time with the few, short gravelly sections. Mostly its on road though.

      @@peterleather6866 I appreciate your response. Doing it this week on my tourer. Was unsure so thanks again.
