  • We filmed our latest trip along the High Peak Trail in Derbyshire, it is an enjoyable cycle route which we have done parts of in previous years, but we never get bored of it. This time we did the full length from Parsley Hay to Cromford Canal, which meant we had some big inclines to tackle on the way back. If you enjoy the video please like and share, if you have any questions feel free to use the comments section below. If you would like to see more of the cycle routes we ride then please subscribe.

    Thanks for the video. Loved the commentary. Great for my daily 30 minute workout in the house. I am currently on total lockdown due to immunosupression, so can't get out on my bike at all. You and others like you make a huge difference to otherwise boring spinning.

    Excellent video...looking at doing the Peak District Pioneer this year which takes some of these trails in I think? Much more informative than the promo vid for the event! Thanks for taking the time to make the vid...beautiful place, couple of hours drive to get there so this type of film helps massively with deciding where to ride! Cheers...

      Thanks for the feedback Ian, your right it is a beautiful place in all seasons and we are lucky to live on the doorstep. A quick look at the map of your route looks like it takes in a chunk of the Monsal trail as well. Good luck with the Peak District Pioneer and I hope you have a great day. Ohh and thanks for subscribing! Steve

    The 'steps' across the path are to direct water away. If they werent there then over time you get a long gulley form down the middle through erosion 👍

    Cool vid, keep 'em coming. I agree with the gate holding politeness but no way would i wait that long, fair play to you though ;)

      Cheers for the feedback, the gate thing is just etiquette, but like you say we sometimes take it too extremes! : )

      It's a brilliant route, and clearing all the climbs is something to aim for, it comes easier with practice or so they say :) Thanks Steve

    Another good advert for these rides. I am coming up in October to play on this one. However I need to get down to Cromford station with luggage on board on the way home and wondered if you had used the B3035 from Middleton Top to Cromford? Is this a reasonable road on descent?

    • @CycleroutesInfo
      @CycleroutesInfo  7 років тому +1

      I have not ridden on that route, but I have ridden around the area on the roads. The B5035 & B5036 will be fine to ride on, traffic in this area expect to see cyclists on or around the roads. Steve

      Cheers! I don't usually mind these sort of roads descending at about 20-30 mph. It's the wobbly climbing that gets unpleasant!

    That bit around 6.45 stuff that holding the gate. If you more than 20 seconds away I'm off.

      Don’t understand the guy when he’s talking about rules there are no rules. We’re all adults if you don’t want to hold the gate for somebody you’re not going to be arrested for it. He’s Probably the kind of guy that would tell you off for overtaking him because he expects you to keep at his speed all the way along the trail.

    The descent at 14.00 is the Hopton Incline.

    Good video,didn't know there's a link to Carsington.

    • @CycleroutesInfo
      @CycleroutesInfo  9 років тому

      knrsthotmail Thanks, The linking route has a bit of road work involved, bu I'll describe it in a future video. Basically we go down the Tissington Trail to Tissington, leave the trail and head East, drop down to Carsington, go anticlockwise around the reservoir head North and join the High Peak trail then return to Parsley Hay.

    Are the High Peak, Tissington and Monsal Trails suitable for a Tern Link C8 (8 gears) folding bike?

    • @CycleroutesInfo
      @CycleroutesInfo  4 роки тому +1

      I am not sure, I've ridden them on various types of bikes, but not a small-wheeled folding bike. You could try them in this order, Monsal, Tissington then lastly Highpeak. That's pretty much the easiest through to the most difficult in terms of terrain and surfaces. Thanks, Steve
