Just don't go deeper in land, stay at coast. There is nothing to see more then coast. Be good boy.
Do you have to be an extreme sports man to do this? Or is everyone allowed to go to Antarctica if he has enough money?
You do need to provide a medical certificate but certainly no need to be an extreme sportsman or woman :)
Geoff Head Nice! :)
Yeah that would be nice, especially if you could work as a kayaking guide!
amazing videography.. does cameras het damaged in antarctica... we should keep more cameras for back up

I am so grateful that quality videos like this are cost-free nowadays.
I am improving my work every day to attain a value level equal to this or higher.
I really love what I am doing and I know that there are viewers who would appreciate it too!
Hi Geoff, wonderful video. Thank you for sharing. Really gives us a great idea of what to expect. Can you tell me what month you were there? We are still trying to decide what month to visit. Thanks again. Susan
In the description box where u mentioned the price, is that total price spent on your trip or just specifically kayak trip?
The price in the description is for the base trip excluding extras like kayaking.
Saw some familiar faces in the video. ha
Amazing video .... I really enjoyed watching this ... your videography is excellent!! Those ice tunnels are incredible! I hope to do such a trip one day ... how much did it cost you for this trip? I saw a go pro in there too .... there is nothing they cant do!! lol thumbs up!
What a video!!! So well done, tomorrow I will start a special savings account for the trip. What was the name of the tour company/cruise ship, and the cost? What's next for you, the Kerguellen Islands?
We did the tour with Quark Express on the Russian research vessel Akademik Sergey Vavilov. Cost US$4,600 plus optional extras for kayaking and camping on the ice. Highly recommended!
Mmmm Kerguellen Islands. You've got me thinking now :)
Greetings,
I am Juan from South Texas and have watch many videos and documentaries on Antarctica. I must say that you've published a very interested video on your trip. Very nice and professional. It appeared as if we were there and all I needed to feel was the cold.
Thank you for shareing such an adventure and hope to visit Antarctica myself.
Cheers,
- Juan
Hi Juan - Thanks for the nice comments. Glad you enjoyed the video. Hope you make it to Antarctica one day!
nice stuff man watched it all
If humanity gets too crazy, I'll retire there...
If?
likethepear Yeah, you use that word for conditions :)
SilverWave Probably not much fun in the winter tho :)
Geoff Head Why? I'll have penguins and seals to cuddle with! :) :D
Hi Geoff. Amazing video. I had one question which I didn't think was covered in the comments below. Which month did you travel in? It seems like there is still a lot of ice, so I am guessing around November?
The footage of the orcas taking the seal, was that on this trip? Amazing experience.
Thanks Damien. We travelled in December, the very beginning of the season. Yes the orcas footage was all filmed on the that trip. I think we were very lucky. Our guide was excited too. He said it was the first time he'd seen orcas close-up from a zodiac before.
This must have been an amazing trip. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Hi Geoff,Thank you for sharing such a nicely compiled video of Antartica tour. You gave me virtual tour of this place .Cheers.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it :)
i want to do this trip but the 3:15-3:25 waves is normal ? I dont think I could make it in the middle of ocean with this kind of waves i d have a panic attack...
mec7up The big waves were only during the Drake Passage crossing. Fairly typical I understand. As soon as we arrived at Antarctica it was nice and calm though.
Excellent video! But those orcas seem dangerous. Was there a possibility that they would decide to tip over the boat and snack on the people, like they did with the seals?
Thanks Gryn. Yes those huge orcas were pretty scary I must say! Not helped by our guide saying it was the first time he had experienced close encounters with orcas from a zodiac boat. Apparently they don't normally eat humans though.
Excellent video.. I hope I can go there some day. Thanks for sharing God's beautiful creation with us Geoff!!
Thanks James. Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, do it!
Really beautiful !!!
Congratulations.
Thanks for the feedback Silvio. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Wow!! Your trip looks amazing!!! I cant wait until we go!!! Thank you!
Thanks! You'll have a blast. When are you going?
Umm not until the end of 2017 which is aggges lol. I think I would have watched this a few times between now and then!
When you slept on the ice, were you not worried about Polar Bears and the locals?? I dont think I would have got any sleep 0.0
No polar bears in Antarctica - and no locals. Very safe!
LOL, I think I better do some more research :D
Any suggestions on a guide?
Having trouble finding any info..
Great video!
Craig Reed Thanks Craig. There are no commercial airports or hotels in Antarctica! To visit the Peninsula as we did I suggest you contact Quark Expeditions. Their tours depart from Ushuaia in Argentina. www.quarkexpeditions.com
Did you see any of the japans whaling fleet down there ?
Joseph Baldwin No we didn't!
Good Stuff.
nice video..and the trip very organised..
Yani Angelopoulos Thanks Yani
Awesome Geoff!
***** Thanks Jo!
How you get a trip to Antarctica? How much total cost to go there?
Hi James - Refer to the description notes for details of the trip. You should definitely go :)
Geoff Head I want to go but i need to know how much it cost? Should I have a passport in order to go there.
James Nguyen We did the tour with Quark Expeditions. Cost then was US$4,600 each (triple share) plus optional extras for kayaking and camping. Yes, you need a passport!

Thanks Ooshanapa for the nice comments!
I have now put some more details in the description about the costs etc and a link to the tour company. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Absolutely, take at least one back-up camera. One of the passengers destroyed his expensive Canon when his kayak capsized!
When you were in the captains area! Is anyone on the ship aloud to just walk right up there and walk in do you have to ask or is it just special for you?
@RantZ_IE. At certain times of the day the passengers were allowed to visit the bridge.
Also was there internet access and an age limit?
No internet access in the Antarctic. Great!!
Sorry I don't know what the age limit is. There were no kids on this trip.
Have a look at www.quarkexpeditions.com/ for more details.
Okay thanks!
Is your accent South African?
Actually it's New Zealand - with a touch of Chilean :)
Ahh okay! sorry lol. I have a South African friend and his accent sounds a lot like yours.
Nice video Geoff Head! :)
Thanks Patelav21!

We flew from New Zealand to Santiago Chile, then down to Punta Arenas Chile, then to Puerto Williams Chile, then a boat across the Beagle Channel to Ushaia Argentina where we boarded the ship.
