We are getting ready to book our expedition with Quark in the next few months. I've been watching, reading and learning about Antarctica expeditions for along time in preparation but your video is one of the most well done and in depth about the experiences from a first hand perspective. Great job, and thank you!
Hi RcoasterA, This is such a fantastic video! Thank you so much for sharing your incredible Antarctic experience! 🙌 We've featured your video to our "Passenger Experiences" UA-cam playlist to share your experiences with future Quark Expeditions guests.
Enjoyable video. Antarctica is way overcrowded with expedition cruises. It's worrying that so many tourists are going there, a 3200% increase since 2010. Where did these younger people get US$40,000 each for the cruise?
Outstanding documentary, Alex! Thank you for taking the time to create such a beautiful narrative. I was supposed to travel to Antarctica in December 2020 but, you know...so this was a lovely way to share in your experience. Thank you!!
Really appreciate the efforts you all put into this production. Going in October 2022 & you’ve certainly whet my appetite for this unbelievable experience that lies ahead!
Thank you for an exceedingly well done video. We were on a South American cruise in Jan Feb 2018 and spent four days in the area which you were. It is easy and enjoyable to see and hear how others have had some similar experiences.
I never watch long videos But this video was real nice content. 👍 In 99.99% UA-cam videos, 30% time is wasted in LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, click bait Sponsor messages. Etc
My favorite part was when the blonde lady said "we are enjoying the journey on the way there"- and that is how all the life should be... just enjoying the journey because that's all we have. A journey ✨ ♥
Your cinematography in 4K is spectacular on my 8K television! Excellent video and amazing editing. I’ll never make it to Antarctica, but after watching your video, I feel like I’ve been there!
Such great content, thank you so much. I watched some videos on Antarctica already and this has been the best! Going in March 2023 and really looking forward to it!
This is really, really good. Personal, eye-opening, informative, endearing. It is late at night, but this is worth the loss of sleep. You are talented and oh so human. Thank you.
Great job, man! I’ve seen many travel videos in Antarctica, i think this is the best! It’s like National Geographic - Quality :) congrats and thanks for sharing. Very inspiring and motivating. So im checking Quarks now. Antarctica 2021, here i come! ;)
there's something going on in Antarctica that has the attention of all the leaders across the world. I believe there something there that is related to the far distant past. Even Hitler & the 3rd Reich were very interested in Antarctica
Two things you should know, 1) if you're on a budget there are kiosk's along the docks in Ushuaia where you can get fairly inexpensive ($5000) tickets for the ship that have empty berths. You may have to wait a bit. 2) If you want to see tons of wildlife, don't go to the mainland, but to South Georgia Island.
A trip to Antarctica makes every landscape on the Earth seems dull in comparison as it is so pristine without any footprints on snow. NEKO Harbor is my absolute favorite place to be on the Earth.
All of your hard work editing was as amazing as the view! I've considered solo sailing thru the Drake Passage, but that's probably better to do with friends! Thank You all for sharing your journey!
Thank you for sharing this amazing adventure! I'll be there this summer! (FYI, since 2019, Puerto Williams has become the world's southernmost city on earth! I was there and Puerto Toro 😊)
how i wish to get there...if someone will invite me..i just wanna know the real feeling to be just right there...🙏🥺🙂...that place...is a wonderful place to be experience...
Right, sure, Antarctic is for everyone. Ha ha yeah man! No, Antarctic is for rich people, entitled people. Common people can't go without permission and lots of money. This place should be abandoned and left alone instead of human interference and pollution.
Very good documentary. Perhaps it might be more interesting if we were able to watch more whales, but it is not your fault. I like the experience. The excursion was great, they did everything. Sleeping with elephant seals close was quite an experience. Penguins are exciting. Truly nice! Thank you for the information.
I have s very similar trip planned and am wondering if you can please elaborate the full spectrum of camera gear that you used to produce this magnificent work. I am wondering about the mix of cameras, traditional versus action (gopro type) versus cell phones. I am assuming that this was not all done on a gopro, but maybe a mix. If you used a traditional camera, what lenses did you use? An answer would be a tremendous help for my planning. Thanks, and congratulations on your trip and on this outstanding documentary of it. This will be really nice to look back on in your later years. Regards, Mark McDaniel
The complete tourist programme, maybe another buffet or a sing and dance show? Yeah, write a postcard, and the few bucks you pay for it make it worthwhile, the work and the co2 your postcard leaves behind. When you are there do something useful, it's a learning experience, you take more home than some pictures. We were on the other pole before covid and we inspected weatherstations, measured ice and collected samples. Very little tourist stuff, we bought handmade things from the Inughuit, drank tea and ate seal, we played with their kids and I helped our host to get his snowmobile on a trailer, you know, useful shit. We learned a lot. Tourism can be great, but - especially at these corners of the planet - please green and useful as possible, thank you. BTW did you know that Argentina never signed the antarctic tourist agreement?
Can't help thinking thousands of South American scientists will never get the chance to go there and do research, let alone millions of regular South Americans like myself, who will never get the chance to experience it. And we all know why. Money. Nice footage, though. At least I get to see it for free. With ads, but still.
What is it with people today, everything is so full of "anxiety" oh, the horror of it all. How about this is a really exciting trip to see a land few people have personally experienced. Grow up!
It is beautiful But if they really loved the pristine, untouched environment, it would be kinder to mother earth not to go. I’d live to do what they are doing. But it is a little hard to watch these young “environmentalist” wallow in their elitist hypocrisy.
Awesome video! The scenery you show is much better than mine as I'm on the plateau at the South Pole station wintering over. There is one small error in your video as there is a post office here at 90 degrees south. THIS is the most southern post office. Funny thing is that if you google the most southern post office you get numerous hits for Port Lockroy, but if you google the south pole station post office it will come right up = easy mistake. Awesome video though! This video makes me want to take that cruise after I'm done here in November. If you want to somewhat verify my location just Google "Mackinac Bridge South Pole".
I find it so messed up that no one talks about the things that they see all around them on the land. They only talk about penguins, icebergs, and whales. When are you people going to stop hiding that stuff from us, like some of us don't already know. The things you see on land are so much more worth talking about than some snow, ice, and penguins. Not everyone can afford that trip and would love to see those things that you get to witness. To stand in front of some of it in awe is a life changing experience and I wish I could before I leave this world. Does anyone have the guts to show some of it or did everyone sign their life over to not talk about it and show it. Just curious...
@@AlexynPhotoVideo Don't play dumb with me. I'm the last person you want to underestimate.
