Yes, it is beautiful up there this time of year. I spent 2 years there, December of 1971 to November of 1973, as an Air Force security policeman at Kinchloe AFB. Spent a few weekends camping at Tahquamenon Falls State Park. Simply beautiful.
Thank you! Such a fine labor of love and dedication! Just in Canandaigua, NY, and Holland, MI just a couple of weeks, ago! More foliage starting to turn in Canandaigua....cooler, now!🚂
I am so excited 😊 to see how this railroad is growing. The color of falls on the trees 🌳 is so beautiful. It would be so cool to be riding on an old hay wagon, either pulled by a team of draft horses 🐎 or an anqutic tractor 🚜 🤔. Like this time of the year with all the many colors in the woods. Can't wait to see more videos.
Hi guys It's been a while since I watched. I figured I'd let up and let plenty of episodes to build up so I can binge watch ⌚ the progress you wonderful folks have made... I tell you boys and girls I truly love what you are doing and wish so much I could visit when things are up and running. This farm is a wonderful slice 🍕 of a Heaven on 🌎🌍. Them upper Michigan fall 🍂🍁 colors are something else as well 👀 and you do put smiles 😊😁 on my face. You folks are awesome 👍😎 and who knows, maybe a Angel 😇 will help me find a way to make a fun filled visit to the farm maybe 🤔. I think of a wonderful long walk around the place and absorb everything and have them wonderful Hounds accompany me and shake all of your hands and get some pictures of the farm and your cool family. Well done guys. Don't give up for this wonderful farm is most likely going to wind up being a New tourist destination for the state of Michigan and not to mention a very reasonable source of revenue 💰💰💰💰😊 I'll be watching all night probably to catch up on everything. God bless you and keep you and your whole community 🙏 Till my next scribblings guys Peace ✌️💯🎯😷🚖🛣️🚕🌞 🍂🍁🏡
Awesome colors. We are just beginning to see some nice colors down here in east central Missouri. Can't wait to see more of the RR build come spring. Thanks.
Running through the winter is a good idea. Christmastime in particular is a real money maker. Bundle the kids up, give them a cup of cocoa and off to see santa.
Use smaller ballast but not really fine well compacted in the crossing area. Please do not pour concrete around and under the rails and ties unless you are going to make this a concrete pad track with clips to hold the rail. This will tend to rot the ties faster and make it hard to replace the ties when they do go. When necessary, replace the crossing ties at one time. Make sure of good grading and drainage of water to get the water away. You will not like the concrete in the end. Use those large coach screws or lag screws to hold down the crossing panels. They look like rubber panels; I have been involved with several rubber road crossings.

@royreynolds108 Thanks for all the information. I will think on this for a while.
Why not do concrete now?
I believe its either pricing, but also curing and what not can be inconsistant this time of year I think
