For the odd person that know velocipede is made up of two parts Velo meaning speed or velocity & Pede meaning foot. I I forget if velo & pede are from Latin or Greek like a lot of other words in the English language.

Should have reversed for more than 4 feet.....more like 10....like the big locomotives....also....it looks like some of the rail is under ground.

That chain of rollers makes those tracks run smoother and probably with less resistance than something that has spaced fixed rollers or slides. More power to the ground and less into useless friction. ❤

Not much to work with there in the first place and we have NO IDEA if they have cars behind or not. Like most of these videos, only about 10% of the situation is shown.

Marquette used to have its excursion train back in the 1970s, called the "MARQUETTE AND HURON MOUNTAIN RR ", that used several steam locomotives 🚂 from the LSI, with locos 18, and 23. Yet originally in the 1960s the Founders plan was for a Ski resort, in Alpine-style, with the steam passenger service as shuttles!! The M.H.M. owned 7 LSI steamers of 2-8-0 Consolidation. Also the morning LUMBERJACK BREAKFAST TRAIN!! Sadly 😢, the owner died in 1984. But the steamers, and coaches. We're sold at auction. 7 steamers were All Sequentially numbered: 18: sold to start many different trains, like Laona Butner used; and GRAND CANYON ARIZONA used for many years then replaced by diesels by ALCO/MLW-Canada, X-C.N., and VIA FPA4, and Oregon, and Colorado, and recently sold to the Colebrookdale rr in Pennsylvania and being repaired in 2024A.D. 19: display in Frisco, Texas, but repainted for the Texas rr. 20: display at Grand Canyon by Williams Station. 21: bought late by new owner in 1990s, moved to Wisconsin near Madison, and under repairs. 22: in Southern Wisconsin at the Mid Continent rr museum bY Baraboo and Wisconsin Dells, nicely repainted.with Green Boiler, 🟢, display in New car barn. 23: moved to New York by Catskill RR., in long term repairs by volunteers, but short on funding. (24:) Donated to the NATIONAL RAILROAD MUSEUM in Green Bay Wisconsin in 1962 in Full Operation. Used to pull 3 old coaches around the tiny circle of track. Last used in October 1972 for the BOB HOPE CHARITY SHOW in the Brown County Veterans Arena, as fundraiser to repaint British A4 60008 Eisenhower 4-6-2 . But 24 was stopped in 1973 due to complaints from neighbors in Ashwaubenon about excessive black coal smoke, and Extremely Loud Whistles with 200 decibels in their windows that can also be heard for a 4 mile radius to South Depere!! But Sadly 😥 24 was stored outside during 1973 to 2001 and is very rusted. But in 2001 the 24 was sandblasted and repainted ; and shoved into the McCormick Pavillion, but still very rusted under the boiler, due to the old boiler insulation, (A)!! These 7 steamers are Classed for "S.C -4", and heavily rebuilt in 1931 as larger with modern features, like large firebox, and new Cylinders. However, these 7 steamers all have different features: like front Cow-catchers either wood or steel. Also, other steamers are 29 with steam booster truck under tender. And 33, 34, 35, at other museum. 33, Ohio, Age of Steam. 34, Maryland SCENIC, used for past excursion but scheduled for repairs. 35, ILLINOIS RAILWAY MUSEUM near Chicago, Display.
