Actors FINALLY take responsibility for costing Hollywood hundreds of millions of dollars?! Oh I had a LOT of fun with the first 2 minutes of this one. Inspired by watching Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning for a 2nd time, combined with the Snow White disaster of yesterday, how can we not compare and contrast the attitudes of the actors involved? The reasons for why some movies and TV shows succeed while others fail could not be more obvious now. Yet Hollywood still wont make the required changes to make money. I think there is something to the idea that they see their money as coming from executives, not the audience. And without separation from this, and individual payments based off merit rather than periodic mass collective bargaining. It would be difficult to shift their mentality from this. But what do think? Should the actors take accountability for Hollywood's failures, as they did during it's success? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)
Watched the Flash Movie last night, I thought it was a movie of 2 halfs....the first half is terrible, ie why am I watching this.......the second half, everything seems to slot in and just work (except, no getting around the PS1 graphics with that terrible CGI)....but I came out of the movie enjoying it....Ezra and Keaton did a great job with that movie.
Just a suggestion, Disparu, maybe you could use that hilarious clip of Simon Pegg being completely in love with the She-Hulk show. xD That's the most pathetic video I've ever seen. It's definitely worse than calling all of SW fans toxic.
Weird. My comment kept being expunged. Will try to camouflage bot-sensitive words: "Do -bababa - ody dumdwops. Anothew videogwaph from Dispawew!" Listen to Prem Rawat!
John Wayne said it best when a fan asked him for an autograph. His friend asked "doesn't it upset you when they just approach you like that on your free time?". He was said to answer, "it scares me more if they don't care.". Without fans, they actors are just pretenders without a job.
Unfortunately Mike, many nut jobs today hate Wayne’s outdated thinking? Remember in 2018, people randomly decided to cancel him for finding his outdated views on gays? He’s dead you morons
Plus they probably vote for idiotic policies that rip society apart as well. The Democrats have really lost the plot from what I can see, from outside the US.
I'm all in on Hollywood destroying itself, I honestly don't care about the actors, I feel for the set designers, make up, carpenters, vfx animators and post production staff, the people who actually need the money
@@darcymoon2109it’s already capable of writing one to the quality standard of Disney. AI will probably never be able to write a great script, but it is more than capable of replacing the majority of Hollywood writers.
@@Thanatos2996 Since all the current writing and products out of disney are abysmal, I think you may be right! Save the money, use AI, still turn out a mediocre product.
Thing about set designers, make up artists and carpenters and especially VFX they can get better jobs quickly while these writers and actors are one trick ponies
Well he comes from a different era. Appreciation of the fans and customers was always the standard in every industry in America. There's been a culture of self centrism instilled in one generation after another that says to kids you're never wrong it's always someone else's fault and you can do/be anything. And then people are surprised when they grow into adults who believe it about themselves?
Sucks it takes a legit crazy person to show these crazy people how to be the profitable type of crazy 🤣 those scientologists can market their asses off 🫡
Still trying to work out their 'master plan' because if they don't have one then it really IS the end, I mean who are the fiscal 'boffins' meant to be looking after the shop ?
I don't understand their "logic" either. Or when the Woman King actress said that if we don't watch the movie, then we don't support black leading actresses or something. Does she think people are going to go pay money to watch it in order to support the narrative she wants? If the movie had been good quality and not utter historical revisionism, people would have loved to see it.
They’re making these movies and changing characters around under the guise of being “modern” and then wonder why their movies go under. They’re making the movies for less than 20% of the countries population and blame racism for the movies not doing as well
People will, because realistically there's a demographic of blind, jaded, and ignorant people that pay no attention to what happens around them. Scandals in their favorite movies? Ignored. Their own Governor committing felonious acts? Ignored. Shootings across the street from them? Unless they hear about it, Ignored. They won't change until not only the media in their cities are no longer manipulated, but also their whole worldview is challenged on a grand scale. I don't have faith in the collective. I have faith in individuals to break free of their own insight and intelligence.
Disney’s aversion therapy is working. I certainly am avoiding the unpleasantness Disney’s created. And the Force isn’t female, what a silly idea. I always thought it was energy, then focused in a lightsaber. Energy doesn’t have a gender. And why exclude 50% of your potential audience ? Not too bright.
@@leohillmann6717 That logic sounds rather flawed. Who even likes Scientology in the first place? Do you? I don't. But I still love Tom Cruise's works. Plus, if TC works in movie so that no one would hate Scientology via him as a proxy, is Scientology made up of everything or anything that they show in his movies? All the death-defying actions, stunts, government-being-government moments? Especially because TC's character, Ethan Hunt, mostly stands for doing the right thing, for love, for people that he cares about, for his duty. Perhaps try a better argument?
They get ESGmoney. A whole weird thing INVOLVING GOVERNMENTS AND OTHER CORPORATIONS. They will keep beating us over the head with this they figure until we just like it...
Actors who stand up against horrible writers and demand to the writers to not turn their characters into charicatures deserve more love. Shoutout to Jenna Ortega and Henry Cavill, who fought nails and teeth against the writers who wanted to butcher their characters and series.
What's the alternative? They speak out and lose their career anyway when no one will hire them? You see what happened to Henry Cavil? While most normal people seem to recognize he was in the right there, Hollywood threw him under the bus. And then backed up and hit him again, only to run him over a third time for good measure.
To quote an actual good movie " you want sympathy from me you look in the dictionary between shit and syphilis that is where you will find my sympathy"
They think $7,000 a week isn't enough to live on while plenty of people survive on less than that a month. They created the problem of a constantly rising cost of living and complain that it's getting expensive. My suggestion is they stfu and deal with it like adults instead of behaving like 17 year old girls who want daddy to pay for gas because they decided to get a car that costs $500 a month. Suck it up and buy that hoopty for $10,000.
My favorite thing about Tom Cruise's films are those little intercepts at the beginning of the film when he thanks the viewer for coming to watch it. I thought it was an outlier when it happened at the beginning of Top Gun: Maverick, but seeing it again in Mission Impossible says otherwise.
Please note, none of these actors are standing on moral or ethical grounds they are "speaking out" because their image and paychecks are at stake, which makes this more of an insult to the average citizen.
THATS IT. I would actually be very happy if some of the actors involved in those statements would talk about their personal experiences or other people’s with discrimination, bring light to actual problems that may need to get fixed that are not “the internet is bad”. Talking and promoting diverse work, giving their money and time into those other projects. I’ll wait…
Just proves how much pull the cast of Friends had when they demanded $1 million an episode each or they would walk. “At the beginning of Friends, the stars were paid $22,500 per episode, which increased to $1 million for the final two seasons.” They got paid because people watched the show live week after week. The power of real viewership, which in today’s binge streaming instant gratification world is sadly almost gone.
Streaming has devalued the art of the film. Much like music streaming has devalued good music. It has become throw away trash. Enjoying music and film was something done conciously because it was a limited resource. If rented a movie or bought an album you could pick 1 or 2. That meant you invested time into making a choice and it represented a real los, in time as wel as money if you just randomly picked something or picked based on advertising or just the cover. And it ment that you actually payed attention to what you picked and really watched or listned to it. Tv shows that where good you actually looked forward to and left you wanting more when it was over and you had to wait a week again. That makes it much more rewarding when you get to watch the next episode. And sure it makes it easier to discover stuff nowdays maybe. But it's value will always be less to you. I used to be a huge movie buff, but ever since the disapearance of the videostore and streaming began i completely lost interest. Only went to the theatre a handfull of times. And not for some particular reason or whatever, i just gradually lost interest and rather did something else.
@@baronvonlimbourgh1716 You are dead on! Especially the tv viewership model. It’s rare you go to work and everyone is talking about last night’s episode of anything! Short story, I have a few friends in the NY & LA film scene both TV & film. I was developing a script and gave a portion of a draft to some of them. They all said the same thing. What I want out of this project is no longer how the industry is designed so are you sure you want to do this? Anyone can go viral, but long term sustainability is moving in the direction of figments of reality.
Following a couple of failed attempts to watch and enjoy Friends, I don't believe they were worth $1m each for their roles. The money would have been better spent on improving the scripts and even on creating less formulaic characters.
@@vanessac1721The point theyre making is that Tom Cruise is a mental case in an alien worshipping cult and yet is the only voice of reason amongst an out of touch class of metamodern narcissists who see themselves as objects of worship
Tom cruise DOES not get a free pass. This motherfucker is evil. He doesn't need Hollywood he's already got Scientology which is evil all on its own. Don't sit there and say Tom Cruise is some kind of saviour. You fucking dummies.
I was just talking about this yesterday in my office and was blown away that I was the only one that didn't believe the writers should get everything they ask for. Yet last week a couple of them were talking about how an employee should be happy with $17 an hour.
I don't like Tom Cruise. There is just something about him that rubs me wrong. However, I have mad respect for him. He puts so much time and effort into being able to do all his stunts. I've watched some videos and you can tell that is a man who has respect for the people on set.
Exactly my thought. It has always puzzled me why Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, etc sign up for these films destroying their main characters. Is it just greed?
I’m a Scientologist bro. We are reasonable people. The media and some people are spreading lies about us, making us look like evil cultists but that’s not the truth. I’ve seen what they say about us and it’s just ridiculous 😄. Don’t believe all the things you see on the internet. Make your own observations.
As an Aussie trade unionist that’s spent decades working in mining and construction in the outback, my heart goes out to the plight of the Hollywood actors guild, not to mention the writers. It must be a nightmare for them to work under such conditions while consistently providing us with such quality entertainment….
Tom Cruise is the only actor that I think makes exciting entertainment for the public and expresses gratitude to his fans and movie goers. He puts everything he has in every project he does. He does'nt preach to the public or express his opinions on how they should be. He's a true professional in his craft and gives it everything he has! When I saw Viola Davis condemning the public for not going to her movie, all she did was ruin her carreer as far as I'm concerned! As Will Smith did by ruining the acadamy awards even more than they already were! And movie stars telling the public how they should live and what to beleive in, imo, they have ruined their industry!! They all need to take a look at Tom Cruise and watch how a true professional works and handles all aspects of his work!!!
Saw an interview with Matthew McConaughy recently and he was saying that he doesn't understand why actors basically try to alienate half their audience by saying how horrible and evil they are too so he seems a pretty sensible guy too. I can't think of any other job where calling your customers morons and providing them with a product they repeatedly say and show they don't want by not buying it and expecting them to be carry on givimg you money is acceptable. Push agendas all you want, make something for you that you know only a small percentage of the population will enjoy but realise that it's not going to be a financial success and that you're not entitled to anyone's money or time if you can't make them care about it. Actors/writers also forget that movies and TV aren't the only entertainment. They're competing with books, video games, podcasts, UA-cam, sport etc. Most of the shows and movies I've seen especially from streaming platforms recently means they're also competing with me sitting and staring at a wall for my attention now too as that is actually preferable
What really annoys me is that you have a guy like Henry Cavil, a man who is all about the fans all about producing a lore accurate show and no one is casting him!!! What. The. Fuck!! Cavil is money printing machine!! Fans will throw money at whatever production he's in!! Especially now since we are being starved of him now. Cop on Hollywood! We need more actors like him
Waynefurlong5097 absolutely right!! We don't see Mos 2 but have to see flash2 ???how Hollywood dare to not casting him and we have to stand Amber Heard??!! That make non sense!!! Do they underestimate our intelligence??
It would be nice if Cavil did some very low budget independent short movies or short series so fans could show support. And it would be amasing if he gets a bigger profit this way and shove it into crapywood's face... But he is to classy for that
The writer and actor strikes have not impacted my life even in the most miniscule way. The strikes could go on for all of eternity and I won't think about it even for a nanosecond. R.I.P. Hollywood. You will not be missed.
That shows how self important and entitled they are, that they think we give a F what they get paid. Whatever happened to acting for the love of the craft? Whatever happened to being a proud starving artist? Nah, they all feel they should be filthy rich. 🙄🤦♂️ Pathetic self absorbed babies.
It would prove that they aren’t that important. There are too many of them that believe they are crucial to society. They need to learn that that isn’t true. Down with Hollyweird.
Tom Cruise remains the beacon of sanity with his revolutionary statement of "please guys can we at least keep alive movie theaters even during the strike?"
Disparu you make me laugh so much "Netflix have moved from making shows that nobody sees to making a documentary about a sport that nobody watches " sheer quality😂
This is scary...It's almost 1984 George Orwell style entertainment that they're trying to push upon us. I always loved going to the movies with my family, but I have literally stopped going. There just isn't anything worth seeing.
Scientology is probably the reason he's so down to earth. Think about this. The Woketrd leftist Translacktavist Alphabet Mafia Actors are more than happy to shit on 50% of 'Muricans who weren't "on the 'right' (woke left) side of history" then wonder why the hell those same people won't turn up to watch the films they were in. Tom KNOWS that EVERYONE is the Audience and even if they aren't all his audience he won't insult them with the same bullshit these other "Actors" are using. For example he THANKS the people who paid GOOD MONEY to go and see his film. They could have chosen anything to see and they chose something he is in. That's pure genius in itself. He's seen how people have been turned off by people like Ewan insulting the fans over something that never happened. Tom has made his money and then some yet HE is the only one who isn't going to insult the fans. Why these other tossers want to alienate the fans is anyone's guess but they seem to be more than happy to do so.
Tom Cruise is one of the few actors that still get it, yeah he's a strange guy with weird beliefs but he never tries to force his views on anyone, never insults the audience & he knows how to make good films
Yes I can agree with that sentiment, but what woke people believe in makes scientology look normal and least they keep their cultist stuff to themselves at least that is what I think they do but I enjoy his movies simple correlation the two blockbusters that have done well recently have been Tom Cruise movies compared to the woke blockbusters Disney have bought out
@@amss6433 has scientology killed people in the name of a God ? Nope. Why scientology was demonized ? Simple, someone going loose members. Example, look Mormons history, was kinda the same story. They've been hunted and killed for polygamy. What's strange is that they have the same god. Other religions kill each other and have the same god. So my question is scientology is sooooo bad ? For me, nope. Black Rock for example are more dangerous at the end ;)
I always love those videos of people are like "I'm against hate, I'm going to not allow things in my presence." .... I'd love to see/hear the examples of you actually doing something or what those things mean. Just saying you won't allow something is basically meaningless as a whole in the end, unless you can prove your actually doing something and actually caring... otherwise bugger off.
Before they make their brave stand against hate, and earn my admiration, I would want to know that they can tell actual hate from political talking points.
ON POINT. I have nothing against any actor or other worker, but what the hell is that you’re not standing behind? Are you even thinking what Ypres saying or just relating stuff? I won’t tell anyone what to do with their money or time but gimme a break, if you’re not working towards real change, as little as it would be, you can shut up.
Kind of amazing that their unions didn't prevent this kind of scenario from happening. Years and years of "low pay" and low hours and their solution is striking at the worst time possible
I like how Simon Pegg finds it so "toxic" to complain about Star Wars, when he spent entire episodes of "Spaced" complaining about Jar-Jar and the prequels.
As an who grew up with these classic Disney movies, I don't understand why they can't make new stories instead of ruining and tearing apart the old classics? Don't the new generation have any creativity?
No they have spent all their formative years starting at a phone and looking at other peoples experiences while never having any of their own so they cant even think let alone create
As a straight white male I am so very glad these actors had the good will to share their experiences. Now we know we can all relate to this high working class of people and are so much in tune with the rest of the work force. Thank you o holy wood your majesty for blessing us with such tallented speakers of truth and justice.
As an animator who used to work in the entertainment industry. The truth is, the creatives that actually make movie magic happen are the bottom feeders. We're labelled as 'creatives' and were hired for our creative input, BUT THAT'S NOT THE CASE. The truth is, the ones who gets to decides what happens to a show/movie are the ones with money. I've sat through so many meetings where the creative director is trying to defend the integrity of the show and actually make something we know fans would like vs a producer or someone else, who 99.9% of the time don't even understand what they're saying, demanding to do it another way because that's what's 'popular' and that our idea is 'not going to make money' The office politics in the studio is extremely EXTREMELY toxic. Only the ones with money or some overrated actor/actress gets to decide what happens on set. I quit years ago. When I worked on a few characters for one show and the producer MADE me change one character to look 'sexy' and 'evil b*tch' when the writer wrote her to be traditional and sweet 😭 I got so mad that I walked out the meeting with the CEO and quit right there. Then I heard the creative team was threatened to either shut up and follow orders oe get fired. It was so confusing cos the advice of creatives were still asked but at the same time they can't really give advice the one power tripping don't want to hear....so yea...it's so toxic...it's been like this for decades but now it's so prevalent that people outside the industry, the audience, has noticed how effed up the industry is.
The actors and writers are stupidly violating a prime rule of business: "Can your employer make enough money to afford to pay you?" That is as important as: "Can your customers afford to buy your product?"
@@pedsrn2003 Kind of. But can your customers afford it even if they want it. We always hear from uneducated people that consumer demand drives economies. Well, Haiti has as much consumer demand as any other place and yet its economy is terrible. Wanting things is not enough.
Yeah, they don't care if their work is mediocre or that studios have been losing millions lately, they just care about getting more money. They don't even care that theaters might go bankrupt cause they are not promoting the movies they have already done and were paid for.
Also “do your consumers need you” cause at this point we can just use streaming services to watch the amazing films and shows of the 80s, 90s and 00s. Or even further back, some Charlie Chaplin, Silent films, Casablanca. There’s enough films and shows we can consume from the past that are good quality that we never need to watch another new show or film.. we don’t need them anymore cause what we needed from Hollywood was escapism and instead we got activism, propaganda, creative bankruptcy and them targeting the children. Forget it, I’ll go watch Labyrinth and watch David Bowie rock those pants
Don't forget those lunatics also sat there idle as franchise after franchise were deconstructed and destroyed. They're called actors for a reason: they're good at pretending to be people/things that they're not!
They really make my blood boil. As someone who works really hard to fix what others break and cleanup after ignorant fools struggling to be able to work the amount of hours I need to make things viable for my family in our tiny little house. Im still doing 30 hours a week but I take home well under a quarter of what they get "per episode" in an entire month, and I feel I get paid a decent rate for the market . And to be clear, no one else under the roof at my place of work is capable of doing what I do to the standard it needs done to and it's essential that it gets done to that level all of the time. These people have such a skewed sense of reality. What they do is a luxury... The play pretend. That's what they do. If they all do an exceptional job, it make loads of us feel better for the experience. If they attack us for pointing out they did a poor job, then their "playing pretend" meant nothing to anyone but themselves. As the son of a brick layer I feel we have a really weird sense of priorities when assigning value to various trades... Here's a group of workers we absolutely depend upon for civilisation to exist and we pay them buttons... Here's some people playing pretend for a living and we pay them handsomely for it and listen to them moan about it and tell us what bad people we are... I've often mused that we're long overdue a massive war to remind people just how fragile all of these conveniences and more importantly, non essentials really are.
Maybe we’re waking up , these people don’t save lives they don’t contribute they’re just people who won a popularity contest and get to prance around on screen. From Tom Cruise down no one is worth multiple millions to perform in a movie. It’s insanity, the people let it happen just for a couple of hours of distraction. Let’s not forget the companies that make them ‘stars’ equally culpable. I’m a nobody from nowhere and I take responsibility and now I voluntarily watch neither the movies and tv they make. I feel a brain fog lifting and the clarity that I see things now just makes me embarrassed that for 56 years I was part of the problem just by watching this rubbish. The new Opium of the masses.
Writer: "I wanted to create the Anti-Barbie, while remaining faithful to Barbie". This is modern woke writer's attitude in a nutshell. It's literally insane, like split-personality insane. No wonder everything is going to shit.
"Give Barbie a conflict that challenges the very qualities that make her Barbie" would have been fine, but ohhh no, it had to be the usual rubbish that they try to stamp into everything else as well.
"He must be a confident go-getter, but also humble and sensitive. He must be jacked but he cant spend too much time in the gym. He must make a lot of money but he cant spend too much time at work."
This isn't like split personality, this is more like narcissism. Split personality implies they have no control over what's going on and what they're doing. The woke writers crave the benefits and attention of the franchise but don't want to do the work or understand the subject, just like narcissists crave the love and attention of others but don't want to go through the effort of earning it. Both are self-centered and want it easy but are extremely unwilling to put in the work, and both will get very angry at you for pointing this out.
That is the double-think where two mutually exclusive things can somehow both be true in their minds. Similar to thinking they can support both Islam AND women's rights. It ain't possible
As a VFX artist tat lost his job due to the stryke, it was outrageous to me how actors came out and said they cannot pay their mortgages and stuff while I'm here struggling to get food. Also the post production indursty and all the staff members ffor productions have never been able to hold a fine living while the actors keep demanding more money, they really just care about their money and having more of it
My Wife is a (near) 30-year Animator in Hollywood. Most of the others in Hollywood neither know, nor care, that Animators don't, and NEVER HAVE gotten Residuals of ANY kind. Warner Brothers made Billions off of the 'Looney Tunes' characters, but Chuck Jones & his team? They got their paycheck & that was it. The writers and actors asking for more money can eat the signs provided for them for all I care.
As a fellow VFX artist that been told I might not be renewed, and there's no work out there, cause no one is hiring, i whole heartly agree with you. I cannot give any support to actors when they say they're the most important thing. Meanwhile vfx artist are burning out, paid little, get VERY little credit from award shows, credit lists and from marketing (coughLifeOfPiCough!) and very little time to work in. Most artists just wanna work on the films they love, they want to bring characters the audience love to life.

I totally agree. Actors should be talking about executives and management and screenwriters making shitty shows and destroying characters and brands first and foremost. But they know they would be blacklisted after that, so they are struggling to squeeze anything from the industry that is being killed by decision-makers, who they have to support in blaming the audience (because ceos and producers have their head in their butts) to see any money... 🤷
I haven’t seen a movie in a theater in 5 years. I was subscribed to 2 streaming platforms but cancelled both. What I found was happiness in watching UA-cam and reading books again. Thank you Hollywood for helping me realize that you are not necessary. I see a threat in AI but now welcome better writing from our new Hollywood AI producers
I have Amazon, cause it costed like 15$ for year and 6 month free Apple for opening app on PS5. I don't watch any of them. Prefer UA-cam,video games and 90's TV Shows. RIP Hollywood.
I kept Netflix to stream foreign shows such as Fauda - Highly recommend watching foreign produced shows as thankfully the woke lecturing bug has not bit them yet
I grew up without a tv and we were too poor to go to the movies so this obsession with people who waste time playing dress up and pretend to be poor makes no sense to me.
Yes, isn't the obsession over the actors and franchises bewildering - to say the least?! Why can't people just let go of this crap knowing it will do them no good? It's too strange.
it's insane. it's like a fisherman wanting in on the revenue, regardless if the fish rots. You did your job, you got paid. Narcissists the lot of them think they deserve more.
The funny part about those old clips was the actors taking responsibility for the WRONG thing. They want us to forget how they protected Directors abusing their power but, still wanted to seem like they were owning up to something.
Maybe some of the more successful ones could "take responsibility" for knowing, and keeping silent, about Harvey Winesteins' casting couch antics. Man, they wanted no part of that scandal...because eventually people were going to figure out that some successful actresses were the ones who said "Ok, Harvey, how bad can it be?"
Oh wow, them obviously reading empty pretentious words they are stumbling over (from their mansions, I presume) - that truly showed me they are taking responsibility. And made me think. So brave. So responsible.
It was the same as the video they did during COVID to 'Show unity' with the plebs. Of course they were all doing their piece from their private mansions, with their security details. Didn't bother actually giving money to charities or anything else useful.
The way you can tell a person has never tried to buy health insurance is when they say it's not affordable, while they spend quadruple that cost per month on Cannabis and DoorDash
I said the same things when the Voice actors were complaining. If you aren't good or popular enough to get regular work. Do what everyone else does and find a second casual or part time job. Don't expect one job worked for a week or two to fund AN ENTIRE YEAR of living.
that's literally the JP voice actors goes through once they become a "Seiyuu". Perfect case for this is the 4-koma/anime Sore ga Seiyuu, while comedic, perfectly captures the experience of a new voice actor. How most of the time, they get no voice acting jobs and has to compensate with other jobs just to get by.
And then once Blockbuster was dead, Netflix took most of the proper films off the site, to give us softcore cp like Cuties and generic violent nonsense like Daredevil.
I think it’s too late to save the box office. The only movies with any chance have to have either Tom cruise, Chris hemsworth, or Chris Pratt. That’s 3 actors holding the whole box office up.
I'd never thought I'd have deep respect for Tom Cruise, but here we are. The guy knows he's just one of the many gears in the whole movie industry machine and that he as an actor is highly dependent on others for the success of a movie. Maybe doing your own stunts makes you realize you're depending on the guy who fits your harness or packs your parachute. And the whole bunch of busy drones in production to make you appear on the silver screen in the first place. And the workers in cinemas selling tickets and popcorn, and after the movie is finished cleaning up the same popcorn from the floor so that the next batch of customers have a somewhat decent experience, too. If anyone deserves a raise, these people do. But maybe most people in Hollywood are simply incapable of thinking in the large scale of things and really think they're irreplacable godsends somehow. At least that would explain the vast amounts of shit-tier productions and the overall detachment from the average person's reality. Let's hope these people touch grass soon, because Tom Cruise can't rescue Hollywood entirely on his own.
He's also a producer. A proper one that gets things done, not an executive producer who just has their name in the credits and less important than the caterers.
When you mentioned about the people who clean up after people in theaters. I was an Usher/ticket handler for two years in Cinetopia before it got converted in AMC. Rogue one was the worst movie we had with an influx of customers. We had 3000 to 5000 people come in everyday for the movie, the entirety of the theaters themselves were riddled with full plated foods flipped over on the ground. Popcorn was spread out everywhere, soda was spilled and stuck on every surface. NOT to mention that we had a 21+ theater where customers were served alcohol. We had dozens of people barf in the cinema which made the experience worse for customers and Ushers. The worse part was that even when you clean up the vomit, the next batch of customers would still smell it. From someone coming from that experience, it was my first job ever and probably if not the best and craziest experiences I ever had. I thought kids were bad, but adults are the worse people on the planet. I even said at some point to my supervisor "These have to be a special type of retarded." Because I was that pissed off that adults were way more messy than the EFFING kids.
From what I read, the bulk of his income comes from percentage of the Movie's revenue, with the trade of being relatively cheaper during filming. He have every incentives to make sure the movie he's in a success.
He is a good worker and his religion has nothing to do with it. He never mentioned his religion on commercial screen or forced it into his movie in any way, considering his contracts are so insanely strong that he as an actor can literally rewrite 100% of the movie he was cast to do, so he had all the opportunity to force his religion on us, but he did not. He clearly can devide this two, so why can't we? In this sense all the traumatised woke writters who write only about daddy issues etc. They can't devide their personal life from their work, and we get crap as a result.
Normally, I'd be peeved that you used "irradiate" instead of "radiate"- But, no, that's correct. They're a poison, they taint whatever they touch and destroy entire communities -like radioctive sludge causing cancer and organ failure in everything around it.
The percentage of good content is now so small and that's the main reason why people are switching off. If they were actually producing something that was entertaining on a regular basis than I could understand but it's hard to have sympathy when the standards are so low and they don't even give us what we want in the first place and then they have the cheek to blame us when it flops. They need a massive reality check.
This topic briefly summarized: a bunch of artists are complaining that people don't wanna pay them for making things only they really wanted to make and few people were asking for.
Who hired the writers for these movies? Who told the writers what to write? Or did people suddenly forget that executives, like Kathleen Kennedy, had the final say? You can do your best work possible, however if your boss says "No, you have to do it like this.", it doesn't matter how good it is anymore as long as it fits your boss's idea/vision.
can you imagine what would happen if a group of actors tried to set up an independent studio?...they'd be at each others throats for parts, billings and pay...and...are the writers and actors willing to pay their 'fair share' of the losses on these massive flops?...don't think so...they want only no-risk/high-reward employment...
One of the former studios was started that way, United Artists (in 1919, founded by Charlie Chaplin and other actors). It was bought out by MGM in the early 80s.
Right everyone loves to hate on the studio big wigs and seeing how they're probably all like Harvey I can understand that but put yourself in their stinky pervert shoes. These actors keep costing them and the investors a lot of $. Movies are a business after all. They hopefully sell us a good movie and then we give them $. It used to be a pretty fair trade but that's what it always was. Not many charity movies out there and when they are made they get slammed by hollyweird.
Their diversity equity inclusion person would go bonkers pretty quickly with all the competing demands for representation of everything. Peter Dinklage just gave us a brilliant example of how well a studio like that would work. 😂 Edit: typo
It’s the “entertainment” industry - all the “fans” they expect to sympathize are dealing with real-world issues. What they do isn’t vital in any of our lives - these people are so out of touch with reality it’s actually comical.
its amazing to realise that over a 15-20ish year period cgi and special effects have gotten so good while writing in the same timespand has gone from good to abysmal
If the actors guild wants some sort of cred for thier strike, they’re going about it all wrong. Let people promote their existing movies, and lobby the studios to make old films available free to theaters. Give the theater owners the solidarity and support that they are wanting for themselves too.
The thing with Tom cruise, he actually makes the movie. He’s not just acting in it. So he sees both sides. A lot of those others are just employees. They have no idea about being in management. Tell them to start their own studio and be the executive producer and I bet their attitude would change real quick.
Wait.. wasn't that 2% revenue demand in the article demanded by the screenwriter's guild itself? That's the biggest issue with such "collective bargaining" unions. The union, itself, becomes an extortion racket for lining the pockets of those in charge.
I just saw Mission Impossible and it was nice to see Tom Cruise's little blurb, thanking people for coming in. That is a hard working actor and I'll see any movie he puts out. It may not be high art, but you've got to respect a man who jumps off a mountain over and over again, just to get the best shot.
They think they are waaaay more intelligent and morally superior to the great unwashed masses. In other words, they think we're too dumb to realize how full of crap they are.
When they don't talk directly into a camera reading from a script in a filmed montage is a start. Also not using the usual buzzwords is also a good way to get more people to believe you.
The difference is often on clear display in an interview where they have to respond to questions and show either their breadth and depth of thought and experience about a subject... or more frequently show how completely shallow puppets they are.
These writers and actors are only employed because they’ve been approved at an executive level. These movies and TV shows we all eviscerate regularly are only greenlit by executives. So let’s start looking at the executives. They’ve enabled all this bs
Well that depends on how much pre knowledge the executives had about a project, I mean on paper shehulk was a really good idea. It might be that only once a project gets to a certain state of completion do the issues that we call out arise, at which point an executive can't really do much as the investment has already been made.
Gina Corano got axed for sharing her opinion that certain actions lead down a bad road. Yet actor after actor is now marching with signs demanding more money after spending years shtting on fans. This seems like a bed they made and now they have to lie in it situation to me. The Irony is not lost at all.
The fact that they are including predatory scams like receiving 2% of the revenue in their demands, just proves that not only are they aware of their culpability in the collapse of their own industry, it proved that their actions were intentional. Actors and writers “how, in a bid to increase our pay, without increasing quality, can we pander to our audience, fans and customers while retaining our ability to lecture and berate them?” YOU CAN’T! How repulsive!
Making a good show is completely alien to modern Hollywood, they can't do it, they already fired and blacklisted all the actual talent from their industry.
I heard that is because that’s what they’re being told to write or/and that is the result of not being paid enough plus unrealistic deadlines. So that’s probably why they’re sympathizing
You have my vote. Disparu for ruler of Hollywood. My dad was a fireman and worked two jobs to support our family and he never got a residual for each fire he fought. Hollywood is like chef who hates people who eat. All behavior has consequences and the fans are educating Hollywood about the consequences for their distain of the people who buy the tickets and streaming subscriptions.
They should be tried and sentenced to turn wrenches in an un-air-conditioned auto repair shop in Bakersfield, CA in high summer for the entire summer, and live in whatever apartment and eat whatever food, and get the medical care, that they can afford with their actual earnings for that.
they were not apologizing for what Disparu is saying of course, it's a bs stunt they did for the strikes, similar to the other bs song they did back in the lockdown years
I have a solution!!! The actors claiming that care about the writers should make it a point to be paid less… like I’m pretty sure most actors could go the rest of their lives without making anymore money and be 100% okay.
"most actors" aren't really paid at all, as the majority are the background people that appear in 1 scene in 1 movie and get a little compensation for their time. reality tv even has those as main characters sometimes. then the next biggest group are paid noname actors that don't get a lot either as you can bait a lot of people into bad contracts for the possibility of becoming famous. what you are talking about is less than 1% of the actors who get millions for a movie.
I don't blame the actors as much as I blame the writers and the directors. The actors are following the lead of the writers and directors. If the writers and directors would stop blaming the audience, the actors would probably stop too. The actors just need to change their loyalty.
Jonny Depp called his Fans in several Interviews, his bosses. And a few weeks ago, after he won the whole Amber horror Disney wanred himback for 200 millions he said no thanks and made an Indyfilm and does other things he and his Fans enjoyinstead of allo Disney to burn him
JD is a fkn Genius when it comes to his fans. He KNEW we supported him through all the crap she put him through so he shows his gratitude. Di$Nonces realised they lost their cashcow in him when they fkd up and believed her without facts so tried to bribe him to come back because £200 Millions is sure as fk not a normal wage for a film even by HellyWierd Standards. The fact he told them to fk off was great. Captain Jack is HIS character no matter who Di$nonces try to put in the role. Maybe they need to let this one die for a while because no one will go and see the Next Pirates film without him in it.
Actually, it was 300 million, and it's a fake rumor, born from an the amber heard trial, i believe, where a lawyer, Ben Rottenborn, asked a hypothetical "If Disney came to you with $300 million [USD] and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?" where Depp answered "That is true, Mr. Rottenborn.". So that part was false, Disney hasn't actually made an offer to Johnny Depp. Though he did do a movie after the Amber Heard drama... "Jeanne du Barry" apparently... I'm surprised he pushed out a movie that fast. :o
This inability to see the customer as the ultimate source of one's revenue is not just something Hollywood crews do. Back in 2002, I was doing Computer Support at a large metropolitan hospital. They were just then implementing their first electronic records system (iCare). The day after it went live, the entire system crashed, while a patient was on the table having Open Heart Surgery! It was only dumb luck that enough manual resources were near enough to be found to finish the surgery & save the patient's life. The Week following, we had a meeting of our entire IT group. When it became clear to me that none of our bosses were going to actually bring up this near-catastrophe, I ended up doing so. I reminded them that there was NO BETTER example of why doing our best, making sure our systems were as efficient & reliable as possible was critical. Too many of our Server Engineers & Network Engineers had gone into an 'Ivory Tower' mindset. They did NOT see the direct relationship between the work that they did, and the lives of the people who paid for their services. I'm not sure it made a difference, I hope it did. At least I didn't get fired for sticking my neck out.
@@Rar830 LOL Don't think I didn't think about that! There's that old adage about 'The Hammer and the Nail.' But everyone at the entire Hospital knew about this near-disaster. I suspect it had created enough fear (for good or bad reasons), to generate some real self-reflection. Nothing even close to that ever happened again, the rest of the time I was there, so that was good.
@@nateschultz8973 It was over 20 years ago, remember & I wasn't there, nor a medical professional, but as well as I understand it- the identity of specialists required, the physical location of drugs & medical supplies needed, as well as patient records & supplemental operational references. All that was lost.
@@nateschultz8973 Oh, Wait. Now that I've thought about it, one very specific thing comes to mind- They had to rush to find a Phlebotomist, to do a manual draw, because even the patient's blood type wasn't known.
Amazing job Disparu as usual. This should be mandatory viewing for the actors and writers. Nobody wants your product, so that is the number one issue you should fix. Shows should not be 22 episodes long. It is too many episodes and paying people for work they didn't do is insane.
Remember bargaining works both ways. The actors get nothing without both sides agreeing to the contract. People say actors are forcing their bosses but if the bosses cave to unreasonable demands then it’s totally their fault.
My thoughts and prayers go to the crew members, the electrician's, seamstresses, tailors and prop and special effects personnel, the true talent who's livelihoods are being affected and have no say in any of this. You know the REAL working people involved in all of this. Not the childish narsacisstic, moronic individuals on those picket lines.
Wait, if all of those trades are licensed won't that mean that they can just work for regular people in the market 😂. They're not so helpless in the end.
There are actors that very few of us can actually name, yet we’ve seen them in multiple movies and numerous TV series as guest stars. Why? Because they are actually good character actors and keep their mouths shut. I bet they make a very decent living.
Just joined. Happy to support what you do. Been thinking to do the same also, but indie author stuff taking my time. 🤨
Just a suggestion, Disparu, maybe you could use that hilarious clip of Simon Pegg being completely in love with the She-Hulk show. xD That's the most pathetic video I've ever seen. It's definitely worse than calling all of SW fans toxic.

A lot of old school actors know the deal. Can't say the same for the current crop of actors and older actors who bent over for "the message".

Rest in Peace Mr. John Wayne.

Seeing Tom Cruise's constant appreciation for fans of his work, and always putting the audience first in his rhetoric regarding films gives me hope
It's what makes him the best too!!!
Well he comes from a different era. Appreciation of the fans and customers was always the standard in every industry in America. There's been a culture of self centrism instilled in one generation after another that says to kids you're never wrong it's always someone else's fault and you can do/be anything. Hey wth! I’ve read that before somewhere.
Still trying to work out their 'master plan' because if they don't have one then it really IS the end, I mean who are the fiscal 'boffins' meant to be looking after the shop ?
Disney: "You're all racists!" Imagine thinking that people will still buy tickets after being insulted.
Thankfully, they’ve lost a large amount of their audience for good. Hopefully they’ll go belly up.

Disney’s aversion therapy is working. I certainly am avoiding the unpleasantness Disney’s created. And the Force isn’t female, what a silly idea. Tom Cruise is apparently the only actor in Hollywood that understands the audience is paying his paychecks. Great guy !
It's because he can't do anything that would by proxy make anyone hate scientology.
Well said. It's hard to have a true meritocracy when streaming services refuse to release their numbers.
That is a sensible assessment. At the end of the day, the changing market has more to do with their declining revenues than anything else.

It's because he also cares about the source material and tries to hold the producers to it. The ego inflated hacks don't like that.
The writer and actor strikes have not impacted my life even in the most miniscule way. The strikes could go on for all of eternity and I won't think about it even for a nanosecond. R.I.P. Hollywood. You will not be missed.
Here's hoping.
I hope they continue for several years. Best thing that could happen to society.
That shows how self important and entitled they are, that they think we give a F what they get paid.

Tom Cruise remains the beacon of sanity with his revolutionary statement of "please guys can we at least keep alive movie theaters even during the strike?"
I'm just sitting here trying to figure out how the hell we reach a point where Tom Cruise is the voice of reason in Hollywood?!
How are people calling a scientologist logical?
This really feels like Clown World when Mr. Scientology himself is the voice of reason.

This is scary...It's almost 1984 George Orwell style entertainment that they're trying to push upon us. I always loved going to the movies with my family, but I have literally stopped going. There just isn't anything worth seeing.
What a time we live in when the crazy scientologist is by far one of the sanest, most down to earth people in Hollywood

As an who grew up with these classic Disney movies, I don't understand why they can't make new stories instead of ruining and tearing apart the old classics? Don't the new generation have any creativity?
Part is the copyright running out and the movies were a thing back in the day.
No they have spent all their formative years starting at a phone and looking at other peoples experiences while never having any of their own so they cant even think let alone create
Too "risky." This is what happens when creative decisions are made by accountants. Leads to a lot of bland programming with familiar beats
It’s because Hollywood executives would rather focus on trusted IP then new ideas
Because they believe that the old classics are toxic and sexist, and that they must be destroyed so they no longer influence our culture.
I've sat through so many meetings where the creative director is trying to defend the integrity of the show and actually make something we know fans would like vs a producer or someone else, who 99.9% of the time don't even understand what they're saying, demanding to do it another way because that's what's 'popular' and that our idea is 'not going to make money'
The office politics in the studio is extremely EXTREMELY toxic. Only the ones with money or some overrated actor/actress gets to decide what happens on set.
I quit years ago. When I worked on a few characters for one show and the producer MADE me change one character to look 'sexy' and 'evil b*tch' when the writer wrote her to be traditional and sweet 😭
I got so mad that I walked out the meeting with the CEO and quit right there.
How about "Do your customers want your product?"
They don't care if the employers does make money. They think they are entitled to it.
This is why i keep telling people not to excuse actors parts in these things, they are fully aware of what they did with things like rop and Cleopatra
Right where were any of these clowns when Cavill went from #1 to yeeted in a week? Attacking him that's where.
What work is it you do? Your comment 'someone who works really hard to fix what others break and cleanup after ignorant fools' made me curious. 🙃
Maybe we’re waking up , these people don’t save lives they don’t contribute they’re just people who won a popularity contest and get to prance around on screen. Let’s not forget the companies that make them ‘stars’ equally culpable. I’m a nobody from nowhere and I take responsibility and now I voluntarily watch neither the movies and tv they make. I wish there was a way to make them all watch this video. It's articulates the problem so perfectly.
When a crazy Scientologist is the most based face the industry has to put forward, the industry is completely off the rails.
Whenever I hear the term "the right side of history" I feel sick from the unmeasurable arrogance those people irradiate.

If they were actually producing something that was entertaining on a regular basis than I could understand but it's hard to have sympathy when the standards are so low and they don't even give us what we want in the first place and then they have the cheek to blame us when it flops.

One of the former studios was started that way, United Artists (in 1919, founded by Charlie Chaplin and other actors). It was bought out by MGM in the early 80s.

Making a good show is completely alien to modern Hollywood, they can't do it, they already fired and blacklisted all the actual talent from their industry.
Arent these the same writers that wrote the HORRIBLE MOVIES THAT HAVE COME OUT?????? AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE???? WHY ARE WE SYMPATHIZING ?????
We aren't.
I heard that is because that’s what they’re being told to write or/and that is the result of not being paid enough plus unrealistic deadlines. So that’s probably why they’re sympathizing
Im not sympathizing.
We're not... We're happy they're out of jobs, and we hope they become homeless, lmao. xD
Drain the swamp, new actors, new writers, new directors, new executives
They should be tried and sentenced to turn wrenches in an un-air-conditioned auto repair shop in Bakersfield, CA in high summer for the entire summer, and live in whatever apartment and eat whatever food, and get the medical care, that they can afford with their actual earnings for that.
So professional pretenders pretending to apologise, yeah I buy it.
they were not apologizing for what Disparu is saying of course, it's a bs stunt they did for the strikes, similar to the other bs song they did back in the lockdown years
As far as I remember, that video was during the George Floyd riots. The ones they did during COVID were even worse.
I have a solution!!! The actors claiming that care about the writers should make it a point to be paid less… like I’m pretty sure most actors could go the rest of their lives without making anymore money and be 100% okay.
Idk about “most”. From my understanding the only actors who are rich and aren’t being affected are the famous ones.
NONE of these actors would ever allow their PAY to be cut to lower the cost of films or to give more money to the Writers or workers on the sets.
Jonny Depp doesn't need Disney. Disney need Jonny Depp. His recent successes and their recent flops underscore that.
The moment you said “I spoke out”, I was waiting for “now I don’t have a job😅” so could be worse.
@@Rar830 LOL Don't think I didn't think about that! There's that old adage about 'The Hammer and the Nail.'
But everyone at the entire Hospital knew about this near-disaster. I suspect it had created enough fear (for good or bad reasons), to generate some real self-reflection.
Nothing even close to that ever happened again, the rest of the time I was there, so that was good.
Wait... what did your system provide that was still remotely relevant once surgery began? Note recording, sure, but what would be life critical?
@@nateschultz8973 It was over 20 years ago, remember & I wasn't there, nor a medical professional, but as well as I understand it- the identity of specialists required, the physical location of drugs & medical supplies needed, as well as patient records & supplemental operational references. All that was lost.
@@nateschultz8973 Oh, Wait. Now that I've thought about it, one very specific thing comes to mind- They had to rush to find a Phlebotomist, to do a manual draw, because even the patient's blood type wasn't known.
If Hollywood started treated their viewers as well, I think I'd have an aneurysm and die.
I don't want them taking responsibility, I want them spontaneous combustion, simultaneously.
The level entitlement is beyond me, it’s like me insulting my customers and still expecting them show.
The contrast shown throughout the first two minutes was brilliant!
Judging from the leaked Snow White pics, even some of these people who are employed are not particularly talented or hard-working.
Stunt actors
**removes hat**
Now who's virtue signaling.
Wait, if all of those trades are licensed won't that mean that they can just work for regular people in the market 😂. They're not so helpless in the end.
Electricians* Don't use apostrophes to make plurals.
There are actors that very few of us can actually name, yet we’ve seen them in multiple movies and numerous TV series as guest stars. Why? Because they are actually good character actors and keep their mouths shut. I bet they make a very decent living.
This movie should be mandatory viewing for everyone in this strike.
Sadly, they'll never learn or change their ways.
