Laughter is weird. Usually we laugh because we think something is funny (even if other people don’t agree, humor varies between people). But sometimes we laugh because we are nervous.
That’s the main reason people feel like laughing for no reason.
Laughter helps to release negative thoughts, so there’s a good chance it’s your subconscious protecting you.
And if you can find it in yourself to consciously laugh more often - whether that’s from watching funny clips on UA-cam or just making fun of your negative thoughts every now and then - there’s a good chance you’ll find that it’s not a cliché but that laughter really is the best medicine.
But, back to the point, laughing for no obvious reason happens to most of us, at least occasionally.
Some people are able to muffle the laughter completely, others smirk (which can cause the people around you to have a reaction) and others burst out laughing.
Whichever applies to you, it’s worth working on it so it doesn’t happen as often and so you’re not embarrassed about it.
Realize that there’s almost certainly nothing wrong with you. There’s an outside chance it’s a neurological condition and, obviously, if you suspect that then you should consult a doctor, especially if it’s frequent or long lasting.
But for most people, it just happens and is over and done with almost as fast as it started.
One way to quickly test whether you’re one of the people who laugh nervously “just because” is to play yourself a hypnosis track.
This will work with your subconscious mind to help turn down the triggers in your mind that cause you to burst out laughing at times when you know, deep down, you shouldn’t.

I laugh without noticing it, I just laugh at myself when I do something that isn't even funny.. And Its getting really annoying to me
I think I need help I laugh in like really sad situation for some reason is a rare condition for it?
It could just be nervous laughter - even though it seems inappropriate. Sometimes it could be a thing called the pepseudobulbar affect but you'd need a professional to decide that,
My grandparents (both sets) insisted on burying my parents as Catholic for their funeral. Little did they know, my parents hadn’t been practicing the religion since they moved out of their parents home. They hired a lady who was singing off-tune catholic songs so loud into the microphone that it felt like a drunk karaoke concert.
Everyone probably thought I was shaking from crying in the front row by myself but I was literally laughing so god damn hard I had tears streaming down my face. I had to practically choke myself to keep the giggles from coming out.
I could just imagine my parents next to me going WTF is this?! And laughing with me. It was a very inappropriate time to laugh but that dang lady got the best of me.
