im planning on doing a speech on how punk culture was affected by gentrification for one of my exams this year and this video was such an easy to understand, helpful guide on the evolution of punk fashion. thank you so much!! i absolutely love it!
wow i am happy that you appreciate it so much, yes i summarized from what i researched and good luck with your exam i know that you will kill it. p.s let me know how it went
please go to St. Marks Place at NYC if you can because that place was once the mecca of punk but now it is unfortunately an entirely different place. Many of us are disappointed to see so many stores go like Trash and Vaudeville and Sounds.
im so mad at myself, i had so many band tees but i didnt wear them as much so i decided to donate them to goodwill, but now band tees and that typa stuff is my style again but hopefully someone found my band tees and now are enjoying them :)
I am very happy that this video was useful for your essay 😍 and yeah is part of the history/style subcultures series that I am doing here (you can check the other episodes and new ones are coming like in a few days because i am not home at the moment)
I’ve liked punk rock ever since I was a kid and so it’s really fun learning some of the history. I still have a rock n roll apron from when I was a child, it’s cute because it’s just so sweet to look back and think how much I didn’t realize when I was young about how my style would grow; It’s inspiring in a way to not shy away from who I am.
A rock n roll apron that's so lit 😍, no problem i enjoyed diving more into the history of one of my absolute favorite music genre and yes is so great to see how our music taste and influences affect our style during different times 🎶👔
Thank you so much for discovering me 🤠 I am very happy that you enjoyed it and yeah I got loads of content on fashion history/subcultures/thrifiting 💻 and more coming....
Mine are Punk rock, skate punk and pop punk ggg, actually I never heard about trash punk before do you have some bands that you can recommend me to listen to? 👌🏽
I feel ya ahah, nope I pretty much listen to a lot of genres now and my love for punk is still on 😍 I was waiting to go to a Green Day concert this year but Covid happened 🙁

What a great topic wow
Or that punks are the shock troops of gentrification. Everywhere we move becomes hot property in 10 to 20 years. Sometimes sooner.

Oh no, you can find them easily at thrift stores, flea markets and Depop if you search well ♥️, yes I think they are enjoying them definitely.

Yeah unluckily i was dreadlocks era 😅
Great video but your intro is way too long 💗
Yes that's good criticism 😁thank you I will cut it more on the next subcultures episode👌🏽
what's the opening song
ua-cam.com/video/IkaIET7XYI8/v-deo.html was this one 😉
Talks about skate punk but doesn’t mention the dependents, pennywise and nofx.
That was my mistake 😩
@@retroazul oh no your ok i was just joking 🤣
pop punk is not punk...and rancid are not a pop punk band
is subjective honestly in my opinion is an evolution of punk that adopted some pop elements too and rancid have some pop punk songs too
@@retroazul you mean skate punk. sounds similar but not really.
Yes yes exactly that's I what i meant
.
Green Day is not punk!
Here we go again 😑 they are pop punk (punk has different genres)
