Here is the last 10 minutes of my recent flight from Krakow to Edinburgh. Punching through the clouds, there is a nice glimpse of the Pentlands and then a million-dollar view of Edinburgh under a low cloud ceiling with rain sweeping over Arthur's Seat. We then bank left over the River Forth for finals into runway 24 with Edinburgh looking a little bit brighter in the background. Enjoy this unedited video :) Many thanks for watching. Mapping courtesy of flightradar24.
To quote Billy Connolly - 'why is the sky so low?'

THIS is why I always have a window seat when I fly. One of the best parts of a flight is the approach to land because you are low and slow. You get to see some incredible views of your destination even if it's coming back home. You have some beautiful countryside there buddy!
salsaman06 I couldn’t agree more! I’ve missed some awesome movies on the IFE just to stare out the window 🤣 cheers!
I want to visit Scotland soon!
Idk if you've ever flown into New Orleans late in the evening but the sky turns greenish brown and the windows fog up lol
Even better when it's stormy and you are cloud surfing.
Beautiful! We love Edinburgh! We were there for several days in summer of 2016 from the US.
Bill Thompson thanks for watching, where you from in US?
@@steve-marsh - Wichita, Kansas where Boeing 737s and parts of the other Boeing airplanes are built at Spirit Aerosystems (former Boeing Commercial Airplane Group)...
Bill Thompson ohhh is love to come for a look at your part of the world!!! On the list :)
Beautiful approach into Edinburgh. Thanks for the video. We’ve now had one a day for the past three days. Great post lockdown treat.
cascinagianni cheers! Have a lovely weekend! :)
Landed there in February 2020 for a pleasant 8day retirement vacation, thoroughly enjoyed it 🤗
Beautiful! The most livable city in the world!!! The wing tips did trimble a bit but it was a really smoth flight for all that cloud.
Don't think I've ever had a smooth descent into Edinburgh! This was really smooth.
That was very cool indeed. Would love to visit Scotland someday.
JBallard cheers for watching!!! :) we’re waiting for you!
Most welcome
Outstanding Steve.
I like all approaches into Edinburgh. I live west of the city and occasionally get to see my house from the aircraft.
Yeah from whichever direction it’s always a great approach, agree! So cool when you can identify your house :)
Me too and I like being near the end of the runway either at Newbridge for 06 or at the approach lights in the field at 24 end.
My beautiful home city, Saor Alba Gu Brath.
Very cool, thanks for sharing.
T-Dawg cheers!!! :)
What a gorgeous day and landing! I hope I’ll be back in Edinburgh soon 😫😫😫
Britain on a Budget I was lucky to be sitting in that side of the aircraft :) cheers for watching!
What a stunning view for miles and a great landing too. Will save to watch again on the 'big screen's. Thanks
Cazbo Rob thanks so much for watching, and for watching again! :D
That was fantastic Steve, I was so excited when I arrived in Edinburgh in 2005, then the bus to Waverly Bridge. Thanks a lot.
I must admit I also love the landing in Edinburgh from any direction :)
Good video, such a smooth flight, scenic journey
Im from scotland my favourite airpirt to land is inverness. We had a sunset landing and it was outstanding the bright pink sky and the different shades in the sky ill never forget that landing
I’ve never landed there, you’ve just put it on my list!
@@steve-marsh you should ;) you wont regret it
Yeh drove to that Airport. Don’t you have to drive around the end of the runway to get to the Terminal.
Soft touch ! Amazing film, congrats :)
How i miss edinburgh😭😭😭😭 been there 5 times but never enough🤩
Hope you get back here soon! :)
Superb brother.please continue new and arrivals.thanks.
Holy crap that was a really smooth landing
Buttered the bread :)
We miss Scotland 😥
VAN Pedro we’re waiting for you to come back :)
Beautiful video (and extra points for the landing :D)
Thanks Admiral! :)
It is literally raining just on Arthur's Seat...
very good landing
@SteveNarsh
Lovely approach tt landing Steve.
Great shot of Royal Yacht Brittanica
Cheers! Planning a video there when it re-opens!
If only all flights were shortened to take off and landing, leaving out the tedious middle bit (except for when a meal is served 😂). 👍😀
Some very scenic approaches to Scotland's airports. Can just make out the Forth bridge before the aircraft turns left over the firth.
Good spot Adam! Cheers
That's an unusual approach from the East. Normally they fly over East Lothian and run straight down the Forth. Looked like he came in much closer to the city before turning.
🏴
First flight I ever took was from Bristol to Edinburgh .
A route I’ve still to do!
I might be going to Scotland I always fight because I want to sit in the window seat.lol
I can see my hosue
How cool is that! :)
😊😊😊😊😊
5:04 is that Arthurs seat in the distance? Edinburgh is the only European city I know that has an ancient volcano in the middle.
Indeed it is :)
