So much great advice guys! And the suspense of the big beautiful new van behind you, after reading through the comments, I CANNOT wait until next week for the reveal. Congratulations 🥳
I find the "gear" you're using really interesting. I'm still back in the carrier pigeon Morse code days. Well....not quite. Your episodes are always well presented & captivating. It's been great watching you learn & really embrace the lifestyle over the last couple of years. Love it. Can't wait to see your new set up. 😍
Another fab episode. Glad your dad is doing well. We have two more years before we can think about fulltime travel. Looking forward to seeing what you have chosen for the next van,
Hi guys, thanks for all the information about the communication gear you’re using, also I’m glad your Dad is going alright Katie.Take care, drive carefully. 👍😀P.S. loved the Ultralite flight, Paul. 😀
Easily the best video you have done. Lots of information, and provided in a matter of fact, unbiased manner. We were tossing up between the starlink and nighthawk, leaning heavily towards starlink. Your video has pushed us way back towards nighthawk. Your comments regarding whether paint all that money for a service that you will only use on those few occasions when there is zero cell coverage hit home. Great video. Thanks…
Great video! We were curious about the Starlink set up and you explained it all really well. It’s not for us at this stage but perhaps in the future! Also we are super excited to see the new set up!!!
Hey PPT! Great to hear from you guys 😊 looking forward to really testing the Starlink further a field 👍 Hope you are traveling safe and well - favourite line from your last episode “hope you appreciate this footage!” 😂👍😎 keep them coming x
Going outback to really remote locations is going to be awesome. In those places there may be no Telstra or Optus however with the Starlink you will have the equivalent of a satelite phone using just your mobiles with wifi calling. Never out of phone range, that is a massive safety benefit! I use wifi calling with our Starlink because we have a weak Optus signal in our location, game changer.
Hello Paul, Katie and Jasper. First time I am responding to one of your videos. I love all the travel stories and information you provide. But this one showed me more things to consider being in the road. Our 2 tours to Australia where on the grid but I love to visit again and go off the grid for some adventures. So a great video which I will look at more often as preparation for a next trip down under. For all your other videos, I loved watching them. Please keep posting them and wishing you safe travels. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I look forward to the new reveal, have been trying to guess what the new set-up is since I met you at the show 🤔 By the way thankyou for taking you time to chat with us 😊 im so happy your dad is doing so much better too xx
Hi Simone, so great to catch up with you guys at the Brisbane show, and loved hearing all about your new set up too! We’re feeling incredibly grateful and can’t wait to share the news next week! 🤗
Looks like next week will be the big reveal week for a few UA-camrs. Love van reveals. Worried about the possibility of theft and vandalism with Starlink dish? Great to hear review of each of the devices.
G’days folks. I love ❤️ all your episodes . I have the net gear nighthawk and was having the same with reception in more remote locations. The thing I did to improve, was I added a MIMO TS9 antenna. I also added it to a extendable pool handle and extended the lead. It has definitely improved my ability to get a better signal. Might be worth looking into ? Keep safe and can’t wait to see your reveal next week 🙃😊
Hey guys, great episode and good feedback on communication services. One you have missed though is an “out there internet” which is a good compromise between cost and service range. It is really worth checking out. Gets a much bigger range then a cell fi booster, can use any carrier, and has a bigger wifi range than the nighthawk.
Well done great review , will be interesting how you go with starlink looks like a lot of work. Do you ever use country libraries free internet Great news with the new van & vehicle, gee Paul that might be a few new toys you will need 🤔 good things come to good people 👏🏻👏🏻
Been using my mobile data on our holidays and only used 20gig out of my 40gig so I think I continue using the phone as the modem. Only have a hand held uhf radio and need to upgrade to an in car uhf before the next trip. Otherwise liked the video and there was certainly a lot of information to digest. Happy trails and looking forward to seeing the new van episodes
Just watched this video for the first time today 17 Dec 23. If it’s not to personal, what have you settled on a year later with your devices and what are your monthly spending, I have just Subscribed to your UA-cam channel and enjoy your presentations immensely
Hi Michele, thank you - we only did very minimal dirt and the van really isn’t made for that to be honest. Slow and steady is our motto - where possible we would leave the van and only take the 4x4 😊👍 save travels guys and all the best! Cheers, TFGF
Starlink RV is already live, same price point at $174 / month (same as $139/month + $35 portability), but the difference is you can pause and start the service anytime you want, so that you're not billed during the months you're not using it. You can switch from Starlink standard to RV but you CANNOT go back from RV to standard.
Hello, with the small Telstra box that you like can you get to 4G? I am a travelling Bookkeeper and have multiple screens open especially with payroll?
i am traveling fulltime at moment. i work full time from the van. i got a nighthawk m6 pro and got myself a mimo 5g/4g antenna. before i had it i got 0.1mbps and internet would cut out and some of my fav free camps in valleys. when i got it i decided to stop back into one of these camps and i was getting 5 bars of 4g and a download of 145mbps and an upload of 110mbps. everyone else around the camp was wondering how i was watching netflix outside the van on hd lol. i put it up on a 5 meter telescopic pool cleaning pole and attach to drawbar. takes me about 5 minutes to setup. for 400 dollars it was the best thing i invested in. even when i have signal of 2 or 3 bars and 20mbps it will take me into excellent reception band and get me 80+. starlink has a long way to go still i think.
Hi Daryl, we have a Nighthawk M2 I believe - through Telstra 👍 we really only use Starlink now that we have that onboard and Australia wide is covered 😊
You said the Starlink was expensive but not that much more than a cellfi and then you also save on mobile phone chargers because you can now use the cheapest plans like boost
Excuse me for being off topic, but I’m Australian living in America and have recently started following you on UA-cam. I wanted to let you know about a couple doing the same thing in America on UA-cam called “changing Lanes “ check them out

Looks like next week will be the big reveal week for a few UA-camrs. Love van reveals. Worried about the possibility of theft and vandalism with Starlink dish? Great to hear review of each of the devices.

Hi guys, so enjoy your videos. We have a Windsor Genesis 17.6. Just wondering how yours travelled over rough/dirt/ corrugated roads?
Hi Michele, thank you - we only did very minimal dirt and the van really isn’t made for that to be honest. Slow and steady is our motto - where possible we would leave the van and only take the 4x4 😊👍 save travels guys and all the best! Cheers, TFGF

Brilliant! Thank you for this info 🙏
You have the coffee machine up high where the microwave would be. Do you use it up there? Does it stay up there while you are on the road?
I’ve installed the starlink on the TV Ariel. Works a treat. I don’t watch tv so I swapped it out.
That’s very cool!!
Just got my Starlink rv they have a deal $450 working well so far
Brilliant news!! Enjoy 👍👍

Hi Guys what model nighthawk please
Hi Daryl, we have a Nighthawk M2 I believe - through Telstra 👍 we really only use Starlink now that we have that onboard and Australia wide is covered 😊
You said the Starlink was expensive but not that much more than a cellfi and then you also save on mobile phone chargers because you can now use the cheapest plans like boost
That is true! We can’t wait to really get the value out of it 👍😊
Is the pool area open to all campers or just the studio.
Hi Ian, the pool area is open to all campers, how awesome is that!
We are just about to buy the nighthawk hope it works. Not to mention the upload time saying it’ll be finished in 40 hours what the lol not fun
It’s been a great device for us 👍😊
Have you tried “out there internet”? Other UA-camrs
Say it’s great we have the night hawk
No we haven’t but will check that out - thanks for the suggestion 😊🙏
Excuse me for being off topic, but I’m Australian living in America and have recently started following you on UA-cam. I wanted to let you know about a couple doing the same thing in America on UA-cam called “changing Lanes “ check them out
Thanks for the suggestion! We will definitely check them out now - safe travels!! We hope to get to the US at some stage too…. 👍😊🙏
Do you have a new van?
…almost…. 😊
Did you guys won truck load of cash in multi million dollar lotto to fund your travel without a job as most Aussies dream to travel like you.
They actually work while travelling.
