I have never seen a state sales tax on any charter I have sold. I have worked for companies in Texas, Oklahoma, New York and California. Never charged a state tax. Sold flights in every state. Only segment taxes and FET taxes. I have worked for both direct operators and brokers. 2.) There is no FET taxes on international flights. The executive airliners don’t carry 20+ passengers. Those are chartered airliners. Executive airliners like BBJs and ACJs carry 19 or less, this allows them to operate under part 91 or 135.
@@ERuss28 you can charter a Boeing 737 (the aircraft South West Airlines flies) with 50 to 100+ seats in it. This will look more or less like a typical airliner inside and be operated under Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) part 121 or 125. These are the regulations for aircraft that cary 20 or more passengers. Corporate aircraft operate under FAR part 91 or 135. These are the regulations for aircraft which can cary 19 or less passengers. You can charter a Boeing 737 with an executive interior or Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) it will have 19 or less passenger seats legal for takeoff and landing. This limits the number of passengers it can vary even if there are physically more seats. By limiting the number of passengers they remain in compliance with the regulations they operate under. FAR part 121 (scheduled airlines) and part 125 (unscheduled airlines) have much tighter rules with more requirements than part 135 (aircraft charter) which has more rules than part 91 (general or private)
Seems like they just double operating costs based on the light jet. P1D has said his Premiere runs about $1,800/hr and the number you gave is around double that.
So, these costs I am assuming are just the cost to fly regardless of people. But if you have multiple people, or are willing to fly with random people, what would be the individual cost?
Yup! Can confirm!! Spent $191,000CAD on a round trip from Toronto to Rome Italy for our honeymoon. Honestly, if you have the money, do it. If you don’t, just get first class. Mile high club hits different in a private jet tho ✨✨✨
+ You save lots of time! You arrive at the airport and 15 minutes later you are in the air while you have to wait hours sometimes flying commercial even if you have a first class ticket. + You won´t miss the flight because the pilots wait for you. + Nobody else onboard except the people you want to have around. + No hijacking.
@@ronp.6782 can you also avoid Covid protocols such as PCR tests and fly into countries that don't allow un-vaccinated travelers, avoid quarantines when you're completely healthy. To me that would be a huge selling point for flying privately today.
If I go on a week long trip from North America to Europe and charter a private jet, does it mean that I get to choose whether the aircraft stays with me in Europe for the whole week (while the crew stays at local hotels for the whole week [or deadhead back to base or to another location commercially] which I would have to pay for along with ground/hanger/parking fees) until my return flight or will the private jet operator simply charge me to reposition the aircraft to the next location where it can be re-chartered to another customer (or sold as an empty leg)? Is it common to have to pay for all 4 legs (A to B and reposition back from B to A, then reposition A to B and then actual return flight B to A?) when chartering for a round trip?
i don't think that someone looking to book a private jet charter will be too interested in all the added fees. Maybe just the general cost plus whatever else needs to be paid. You say too expensive and they say OK let's book it!
Nope. You are chartering the whole aircraft, so does not matter to the operator if it is 1 pax or 19. The only difference to cost would be if you had, for example, very specific and expensive catering requests that you wanted onboard. Probably with just 1 pax they would absorb the cost, but if you did the for all 19, they may add to the bill to cover that cost. People will be surprised how expensive catering a jet can be.
@@andiscott8470 It might be that you will need to land for technical stop with 19 but not with 1, so the price can be a bit different, because landing can add not only flight time, but de-icing, landing fees, refuelling fees, take off some tire, brake pads, engines resource. So 70K might become 90K. So it will be cheaper for you if your friends can split the bill, but more expensive if you keep your classmates around :)))
Why on Earth would I pay for the plane to sit around and the crew to do nothing for a week while I'm on vacation? The reason behind private fractional jet ownership is so that I can fly when I want, where I want. Major airlines don't charge me for the A350 to sit around while I'm on vacation for a week, so why would the private jet company?I have researched other private jet rental companies and there is no mention of paying these absorbitant costs for the help to sit around and do nothing. You simply book another private jet when you're ready to go home. And please don't try to solicit well-off customers to fly you around on private vacations like an escort.
Wendover Productions opened my eyes to the ecological impact of private flying. Even if I could afford it... "Not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent." Bill Gates says he pays $7M a year JUST to offset his carbon footprint for his private air travel. That's just the carbon offsets... imagine how much he pays to fly?
Bill Gates has 2 x G650ER private jets, each costing per year about 2,5mil to operate at all expenses necessary, so he’s paying +/- 5mil$ per year to operate his two private aircraft, for about 400 flight hours per jet, per year. I’m sure he pays a little extra for the offset fees to look “green”. To operate a jet, there’s basically fixed costs and operating costs that both combine to make about 1,5mil to 2,5mil on the G650 series planes annually, depending how much anyone would fly per year.
