@@tommy3989 It is a very popular option but for me, cashing out 5 million for fractional ownership, does not work. If I'm going to spend that range of cash on a jet, I want it all for myself rather than sharing it with someone else. Of course, I'm thinking as a private owner, not a private corporation owned by one person. If a jet will go into the company's books, then fractional ownership makes sense. It will be available not only for the owner but for business purposes, sometimes carrying other people than your family - think company car. For a Phenom 300E, an exceptional light jet, it costs around 10 million new and annual expenses of about 1.4 million when flown 400 hrs. So if you have some 22 million to spare, you can have this plane for yourself, customized your way, and you can enjoy it for 9-10 years. Besides, it's single-pilot certified so even you can fly it if you plan to do that.
The cost of the plane is outweighed by the VALUE of time that is saved by going where and when you want to, independent of ground travel delays and time or other people's timetables.
@@platinumsky845 a lot of people have knowledge and still living normal, and a lot of people start companies everyday and very tiny percentage of them make it
The biggest reason we went with a private Jet was for the fact that I hate dealing with the TSA. The only reason I had ever started flying was for personal business. Our oldest son once he graduated he joined the Marine corps. And his MOS sent him to California. After two plane trips to California to see him I had enough with commercial airlines. My wife had been bugging me for years to get a plane and I told her if it was something she really wanted that she needed to do all of the homework. She had no problem with that. So about 6 months later we bought our first plane. At that time we bought a used g5 since we were not certain on what we wanted and how we wanted it set up. We got very lucky when it came to the pilot. Once we decided that we wanted to hire him he helped us down the road on picking out more options that would help us to be more comfortable and for him some more safety features. It's something to do with the computers that pilots use. I know nothing about that stuff. A lot of times his family will travel with our family. And whenever he needs to go somewhere for family business he's allowed to take our plane and he always tries to pay me back for the fuel which of course I would not ask. He has gotten up in the middle of the night and flew us across the whole United States just so we could be there when our first grandson was born. So if you are ever considering going down this road make sure you get yourself a great pilot. It makes a whole difference.
It's a beautiful thing having a good team together that are more than just coworkers, more like family. I'm happy for you and your family that's awesome. Your son sounds like a very good young man. You must be very proud. 👍 🇺🇸
False. What you're talking about is part 135 air charter (in the U.S. anyway). The owner doesn't lease the aircraft from a seller, he leases it TO the charter management company who crews the airplane that the owner still pays for. The cost is just defrayed by the owner being paid a portion of the charter revenue

Hi Alux, it is I the SkyWalker writing to comment about this video if I may, very awesome: If I may allow me to say "I really enjoyed this video", SkyWalker plan on purchasing more than one private plane and I found this video quite entertaining when referring to cost associated with private aircraft owning. SkyWalker may not have a need to worry about the associated cost cost of private aircraft owning however the "rundown" on what costs are necessary was pleasant to be informed about. I liked the joke of "putting twenty dollars of gas in your private plane will not cut it" (paraphrasing), I liked hearing about the passenger "per head" cost meaning for each person on a private plane the owner of the aircraft has to pay a fee per person, the landing fee also was interesting to learn about. ... that* doesn't matter. But it does, nobody who is not conscious about their spending will ever become a billionaire. It was Warren Buffet himself to learn that owning a jet costs far more than chartering one. So what he did was to buy the charter service (net jets).
Just buy a business or first-class ticket on a commercial jet and you will be fine, save yourself the headaches of all the private jet drama and ceremonies
From my understanding owning a private jet is a NO NO unless you mint at least $50million every single year. I do not wanna flaunt it on instagram. Besides anyone who makes a lil over $10Mil a year can comfortably charter them for short routes. Realisticly speaking.
That's factually not true, I live up on the east coast and my best friend owns a 1/2 fractional ownership with his partner. He has a Learjet 31a ER , I don't know his exact salary or pay per year but if guess it's close to a million maybe a little lesser but he travels comfortably in the jet, I've been on it a couple of times , he offsets half of the costs by putting it on a part charter program, so this news doesn't stand true unless ur planning to own a gulf stream 650 or a challenger 604 or higher.
@@grapejuiceboy my comment was in the context of gulfstream4's or Dassault Falcon types. Or anything close to the ones used for intercontinental journeys. To own something like a mercury or a learjet you can cut it even with $2mil a year.
@@sameerhinduja7357 yes that's right but even lesser than that, my friend has done a trans Atlantic journey on the Learjet 31 they just had to do a few stop overs and chalk out the roots, the small jets are also capable of doing cross continental journeys, it's just that it has to be planned and it will involve a few stops.
@@grapejuiceboy if you dont min'd me asking? Why on earth would somebody want to do inter- continental journeys on smaller jets when you have to make multiple stops ? The point of owning a plane is to save time and making multiple stops is doing the exact opposite right ?
@@sameerhinduja7357 well he did a cross Atlantic flight when he was on a pleasure tour with his wife, on the contrary he had great fun, they started in New Jersey , landed up in Goose Bay, stopped over at Greenland, then to Iceland and finally into mainland Europe, I don't believe time was the essence here since they were on vacation and besides u get to see so many little places along the way.
Smaller prop planes that can land and take off on grassy fields can be a cost effective alternative to jets. There are some small airplanes that have better fuel economy than some older cars. You can own an airplane without being a millionaire, though depending on your country, costs can vary.
My dad has a private jet. A Gulfstream. He has always said , if it was cheap to own one , he wouldn't bother. He's spoiled and likes expensive things. He's very much a perfectionist and one time my kids started running around on the plane. They threw grape juice the butler had given. They got grape juice all over a few if the seats and carpet. He went ballistic.
😂 classic situation. Even among average folks. That's cool that you were able to take a ride though. Some people never see the world from the air. Have yourself a good day and God bless 👍 🇺🇸
There are tax benefits also for buying a private jet depending upon the country. This also needs to be calculated while buying one. Like in US, 100% depreciation is available & hence if tax amount is more than jet price, it's makes it more lucrative to buy one.
I am in investor interested in media and technological platforms around the world. Flying is in my blood. So I am gonna buy one. But I seem to prefer fractional ownership because I cant manage the jet myself...
I know it’s a little bit harder for me to buy a private jet but I’ll do my best and off course one day I’ll buy it and my mom and dad both will proud for that... 😊... Thanks @Alux
The cost of a thing is the amount of what I will call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run. Henry David Thoreau
Ok, guys, don’t let this ruin your hopes of owning a private jet. The pricing for a pre owned jet isn’t starting at $14 million. However the rest of the pricing quotes are very realistic since hangers in Ontario air port costs $87000/yr. LAX is starting pricing of $160k depending on plane.
If my business required ownership of a private jet, I would start with the smaller Embraer 300 for all the reasons mentioned in the video. And then I would try to privately split the cost with about 3 other business to minimize the ownership costs.
Being in aviation my entire life and a pilot as soon as I could, there is a glaring omission here. Only a very small percentage of owners start out buying a jet. A jet is usually the pinnacle of the aircraft that they own or have owned. Many jet owners have had between 5 and 10 planes before owning a jet. And $50k USD is NOT what it costs to insure a 172 per year, maybe $5k USD.
I recall a few yrs back a very large number of private jets parked at the airport on the Big Island of Hawaii during the Easter season. (Not the Hilo side) my reaction was “Whoa”.! I came over on a discount fare on Alaska Airlines ( great service) . BUT , I was very angry few yrs later when I saw a picture of a 747 parked at an airport with my church logo on it . I didn’t buy the story that my church was poor from that day on !
My contribution to my church: $1.00. My contribution to charities I personally deliver the goods to: $XXX.XX. Give as long as your eyes see who receives that.
It’s not about the monetary equivalent you provide in return for the jet but all the opportunities you give up in order to own it(opportunity cost). That amount of money could be saved, invested in your own business or even a diversified portfolio, think of S&P500 index funds for a positive return on investment. This means you’ll love off your interest and dividends🙌🏻
Very true, however flying can bring new opportunities and enable new business endavors and most importantly save time in which more business actions can be made, so if used wise it can make more profit and benefit business growth
Person Man Man that’s is also a valid point. If you take a 3 hour private flight that costs $40,000 in maintenance and overall if you divide by equivalent units, you Will save time and money but only if you’ve managed to save/make more money meanwhile
The idea of owning a pvt jet came long back in my school days back in 1997, when i expressed my desire to own my own pvt jet, and my my teacher told the same things almost as mentioned in this video, as there was no UA-cam channels to tell these things.
SmackItUp-FlipIt-RubItDown its actually pretty close haha, the captain, the crew, the food, the docking fees and parking fees, the cleaning fees, the fuel costs A LOT, the insurance, the services, the toys, the customizations, the water filtering, the running expenses, the crew daily per diem and captain, and so much more :) its just like a private jet in costs but more of a luxury and fun time than a private jet, because once the flight it over, its over! at least with a yacht you get to stay in it how ever long u want
Can anyone help me on how I can start or learn stock investing as a teen. I have read alot about it, but still confused! Should I start with mobile trading apps !!!????? Or penny stocks or paper trading??
Wait a min, a pre owned doesn’t cost $14 million, you are able to purchase a private jet such as Beechjet for under $1.5 million. Got mine for under $700k for a 2000 Beechjet 400A.
The perfect time for me would be when I can use it also as an asset to the business bringing in a revenue of some sort, in other words if you have the money, then pay for it and lease it while maintain ownership and use so that it pays for itself.
Should’ve selected one common private plane, selected a location, projected a common year's travels, and cost projected. Would’ve been helpful. Please do a video each for different jets, different cities. Thanks.
Av Shiloh almost nothing in this video is accurate. It’s amazing how popular these types of videos are and they are too lazy to just ask around for a pilot who can actually answer these questions rather than the hours of googling they must have done to come up with this wrong information.
Can we be a video like this on yachts. I would buy a jet if I had to travel a lot for business and in that case I would buy a smaller plane instead of balling out like my mans Donald Trump.
I never even thought that I would ever want to own my own yet, but it seems that it is now possible and I have sat aside 130 million for 5 years so I think I would be safe with that estimate. Why would I want to do this? Because I can.

If someone is earning 300m dollars per year then its not a big deal fr him or her to own a jet(billionaires only)
About choked when "$50,000 per year for all around insurance on a Cessna 172" came out. That's more than the cost of the plane. What the hell?
When you have billions in your bank account that's doesn't matter....vk
Vaibhav Kadam thats right, billionaires like you and me 👌
Billionaires don't so much money in the bank account. They have the bank lol
@NonyaBusiness! that's net worth but he earns $50million if he owned bussiness his net worth would be $1billion assuming 5%margin
... that* doesn't matter. But it does, nobody who is not conscious about their spending will ever become a billionaire. It was Warren Buffet himself to learn that owning a jet costs far more than chartering one. So what he did was to buy the charter service (net jets).
I had plan to buy a jet, but after watching this video, I cancelled
u couldnt afford one either way

“Private planes are not cheap”
*No shit Sherlock*
So basically just charter a jet. It's much cheaper and easyer
If I am not dumb enough to buy a BMW I am not dumb enough to dream of a plane.
I sold mine due to not trading internationally anymore. Retired and bought a luxury super yacht. No regrets.
For Real??
😂
That's awesome.
How's life on the seas?

Smaller prop planes that can land and take off on grassy fields can be a cost effective alternative to jets. There are some small airplanes that have better fuel economy than some older cars. You can own an airplane without being a millionaire, though depending on your country, costs can vary.
Would be cool to own both haha 😂
TOP Of The Morning!
Mornin’ ALUXERS!!
There are tax benefits also for buying a private jet depending upon the country. This also needs to be calculated while buying one. Like in US, 100% depreciation is available & hence if tax amount is more than jet price, it's makes it more lucrative to buy one.
I'll can take care of the de-icing fee. I'll get this one guys no worries. You have the rest right? Thanks lol
When she said “ The moment your tires touch the tarmac “ my soul died
Jexter what if the private jet makes a go-around? Or the pilot simply wanted to touch-and-go? Your soul still lives ! :D

It's a bottomless pit of $,s when it comes owning one of these , or any other jet . Aviation is expensive .But I would love one .
If I ever blow up; I’m buying a jet😊
As long as you don't blow up in the jet.
Carl Rosenzweig - true😂
If I ever blow up then I turn into the airplane's autopilot or someone is going to have sex with me.

This is BS. The salary costs of the pilots are only that in high in the US. In Europe pilots earn maybe 50k and stewardesses 20k
An experienced Lufthansa pilot makes around €16,000 per month and I don’t see private jet pilots earning less.
Remember, this is a fluff piece, no better than a buzzfeed video. Don't expect accuracy.
I would assume that most people own Turboprop before getting into Jets. Wouldn’t a logical upgrade after a Turboprop be something like an SF50.
Grant Cardone says buying a house is one of the dumbest investment one could ever make but buying a jet it isn't
Why he say that?
@@okidokiyowyow356 Because a jet takes you to meet people and people got the next money you need

If your church has a logo then that would be a clue that it's not a church at all but more of a for profit corporation masquerading as a church.

Zenperial man how do you know so much
Jason Schwartz self financial education + a business degree😁
Very true, however flying can bring new opportunities and enable new business endavors and most importantly save time in which more business actions can be made, so if used wise it can make more profit and benefit business growth
Person Man Man that’s is also a valid point. If you take a 3 hour private flight that costs $40,000 in maintenance and overall if you divide by equivalent units, you Will save time and money but only if you’ve managed to save/make more money meanwhile
Most people buy one for tax purposes. Then they rent it out.
To own a private jet: win some mega-mega lottery, then suffer brain damage.
If I had enough money 😂
No, if I fly as much as I dream of, that would incentivive me to purchase my own jet.
Appreciate you guys!
Owing a jet is stupid liability, renting a jet just makes much more sense, nobody can justify these prices except the top 5%...

The idea of owning a pvt jet came long back in my school days back in 1997, when i expressed my desire to own my own pvt jet, and my my teacher told the same things almost as mentioned in this video, as there was no UA-cam channels to tell these things.
Have your company own the jet.

Owning a private jet is very Painful. I’d rather own a mega-yacht... less expenses and more enjoyment ⛵️

This video has so much erroneous information, it’s obvious they know little or nothing about aviation.
Av Shiloh almost nothing in this video is accurate. It’s amazing how popular these types of videos are and they are too lazy to just ask around for a pilot who can actually answer these questions rather than the hours of googling they must have done to come up with this wrong information.
