    1. Private jets are not cheap.
    2. A Plane needs a storage facility for when it is not in the air.
    3. Everytime you land you are charged a landing fee.
4.Fueling an aircraft is different to toping up your car.
    5. You need some one to private jet and run it.
    6. Each time you take off of land you are liable for airport taxes.
    7. Just like a car, a plane needs parts upgraded, repair and regular services.
    8. De-icing a jet is intergral, and not an area you should skimping on.
    9. Your jet need to be insured.
    10. Upgrade and customizations are par for the course
    11. Acident to happen.
    12. Crew overnight fees can rack up the bills
    13. Clean fees are also part of your costs.
    14. So what is total the costs.
    15. When is it actually time to buy a jets

    • @SergioSilva-zc6id
      @SergioSilva-zc6id 4 роки тому +2

@@tommy3989 It is a very popular option but for me, cashing out 5 million for fractional ownership, does not work. If I'm going to spend that range of cash on a jet, I want it all for myself rather than sharing it with someone else. Of course, I'm thinking as a private owner, not a private corporation owned by one person. If a jet will go into the company's books, then fractional ownership makes sense. It will be available not only for the owner but for business purposes, sometimes carrying other people than your family - think company car. For a Phenom 300E, an exceptional light jet, it costs around 10 million new and annual expenses of about 1.4 million when flown 400 hrs. So if you have some 22 million to spare, you can have this plane for yourself, customized your way, and you can enjoy it for 9-10 years. Besides, it's single-pilot certified so even you can fly it if you plan to do that.

The biggest reason we went with a private Jet was for the fact that I hate dealing with the TSA. The only reason I had ever started flying was for personal business. Our oldest son once he graduated he joined the Marine corps. And his MOS sent him to California. After two plane trips to California to see him I had enough with commercial airlines. My wife had been bugging me for years to get a plane and I told her if it was something she really wanted that she needed to do all of the homework. She had no problem with that. So about 6 months later we bought our first plane. At that time we bought a used g5 since we were not certain on what we wanted and how we wanted it set up.
We got very lucky when it came to the pilot. Once we decided that we wanted to hire him he helped us down the road on picking out more options that would help us to be more comfortable and for him some more safety features. It's something to do with the computers that pilots use. I know nothing about that stuff. A lot of times his family will travel with our family. And whenever he needs to go somewhere for family business he's allowed to take our plane and he always tries to pay me back for the fuel which of course I would not ask. He has gotten up in the middle of the night and flew us across the whole United States just so we could be there when our first grandson was born.
So if you are ever considering going down this road make sure you get yourself a great pilot. It makes a whole difference.

    Missing from this list are:
Maintenance Fee - If you own a JET you will need a mechanic or mechanics to oversee all maintenance and keep up with it. Aircraft have calendar items that must be complied with wether you fly it or not.
Along with maintenance there are programs you buy into and pay a fee per flight hour that will cover maintenance expenses in engines, and airframe.
WiFI - You will need to pay for internet, KA-BAND which is a satellite service can reach astronomical costs.
Training - Pilots and Mechanics required training which comes at a cost to keep operating the aircraft.

Hi Alux, it is I the SkyWalker writing to comment about this video if I may, very awesome: If I may allow me to say "I really enjoyed this video", SkyWalker plan on purchasing more than one private plane and I found this video quite entertaining when referring to cost associated with private aircraft owning. SkyWalker may not have a need to worry about the associated cost cost of private aircraft owning however the "rundown" on what costs are necessary was pleasant to be informed about. I liked the joke of "putting twenty dollars of gas in your private plane will not cut it" (paraphrasing), I liked hearing about the passenger "per head" cost meaning for each person on a private plane the owner of the aircraft has to pay a fee per person, the landing fee also was interesting to learn about. The de-icing fee was interesting to learn about...one can heat floors in a home why not heat your turbines and the hull of your aircraft, I will have to look into that. In my opinion my incentives for owning several private aircrafts is because I can, also convenience, Alux SkyWalker's plan is own business that branch out beyond the borders of America and with relation to travel I would need to leave when I say "time to go!" For example Alux if SkyWalker need a business associate to be in a certain location SkyWalker need the convenience to have a plane waiting for such associate to go an do what ever need to be done, with that being said Alux if a family member wants to go skiing in Greenland to have more than one airplane would reduce delays in spontaneous travel, regardless of the price Alux owning private aircrafts is awesome. In closing I imagine wanting a "15 expensive things The SkyWalker owns" segment on your channel...from my four thousand dollar slippers, to my planes, to my twenty million dollar Bugatti; this is my dream Alux to have a segment on your channel and I will see such dream come true. Thanks.

From my understanding owning a private jet is a NO NO unless you mint at least $50million every single year. I do not wanna flaunt it on instagram. Besides anyone who makes a lil over $10Mil a year can comfortably charter them for short routes. Realisticly speaking.

That's factually not true, I live up on the east coast and my best friend owns a 1/2 fractional ownership with his partner. He has a Learjet 31a ER , I don't know his exact salary or pay per year but if guess it's close to a million maybe a little lesser but he travels comfortably in the jet, I've been on it a couple of times , he offsets half of the costs by putting it on a part charter program, so this news doesn't stand true unless ur planning to own a gulf stream 650 or a challenger 604 or higher.

Being in aviation my entire life and a pilot as soon as I could, there is a glaring omission here. Only a very small percentage of owners start out buying a jet. A jet is usually the pinnacle of the aircraft that they own or have owned. Many jet owners have had between 5 and 10 planes before owning a jet. And $50k USD is NOT what it costs to insure a 172 per year, maybe $5k USD.

This video has so much erroneous information, it’s obvious they know little or nothing about aviation.

Av Shiloh almost nothing in this video is accurate. It’s amazing how popular these types of videos are and they are too lazy to just ask around for a pilot who can actually answer these questions rather than the hours of googling they must have done to come up with this wrong information.

Ok, guys, don’t let this ruin your hopes of owning a private jet. The pricing for a pre owned jet isn’t starting at $14 million. However the rest of the pricing quotes are very realistic since hangers in Ontario air port costs $87000/yr. LAX is starting pricing of $160k depending on plane.

At 4:04 they mention that the plane holds 800 gallons and goes a distance off about 800 nautical miles but on the screen it actually shows 1800 nautical miles
