I can tell you I think you’ll be very happy. I actually had a tour of the eco-tech manufacturing plant this weekend in Pennsylvania was so impressed every employee is very involved. I will be upgrading my in the future for sure. ✌️
Currently own 3 XR30w Pro's, 2 MP40's and a Reeflink, been running for 5 years now without a glitch, mixed reef is growing well and everything is thriving... you get what you pay for....
This is probably the best video I have seen for LED's. I have been thinking of starting back up in the hobby. I used to use HVO Florescence lighting a long time ago. But I have been thinking of this type of lighting. Thank you.
Congratulations on the 30k subscribers !!! Radions are definitely top notch lights. I have already decided that they are what I’m putting on my new build! Great video as always and Thank You for all your hard work! Cheers !
@@PrestigeReef i have ocean revive t247 & xr30 i believe they are same as far as power output & coral coloration except xr30 have some extra features & 600$ more price difference im wondering if someone can disagree with me???? radions way over priced , i grow any types of corals under ocean revive t247 just as same as radions
I used to have a small Juwel Rio 125ltr tank which I converted into a marine tank. This was about 7 years ago and I have the video on here to prove it. I had no fancy lights just T5's. One marine blue and one white. Both had reflectors....... And my corals grew perfectly well...... Advance in technology I can accept only on the fact it can save you money on your energy bills. Other than that the T5's worked well for me and my corals.....
I've had my xr30 pro over my red sea 250 for 5 months now, so far so good. I do regret not getting 2 15's instead for better spread. Either way everythings looks great. They are pricey but you wont be disappointed
Good video as usual. I have 3 xr15 g4 over a 4 foot sps dominant reef and do an excellent job. Like all leds you still het the shadowing which can easily be fixed with a couple of t5's As for price, some people buy a fiesta others buy a porsche. Chinese black boxes can do the job, depends how much you want to invest in the hobby.
Very nice photography, the close ups are beautiful. Be aware that the fans can fail when the components on the board get cooked. The fans draw the heat from the lights internally across the board to the exhaust port, the edges of the board get cooked along the edge closest the lights. Periodically take a light down and give it a sniff test, you'll know it when you smell it, I don't know how to repair it, I just know it happens.
How have you found the Radions now you have been using them a while, any difference in coral colour action and growth? Did you have any problems with the changeover from the AI52HD in the end? What is the overall look of the tank in comparison the the AI52Hds? Thanks very much for any info
No they are not worth the price. Just my opinion. Put i par tested 3 of them over my standard 120 and the drop off in par was horrendous. I would have needed 4 over a 4 foot tank. Which for the cost I think is absurd. I ended up putting a 4 foot t5 fixture with led bars and have never looked back. Everyone says that the ecotechs are more energy efficient than t5’s. But that is all how high you run the ecotechs. A watt is a watt. On the 3 ecotechs I was running them wide open and they combined at just around 500 watts. My t5 8 bulb is around 440 watts. So by theory my t5 is more efficient. But to each their own.
@@mihaia6026 Really wish the Phillips unit was available in the US. Having more choices is never a bad thing... well unless you're at a restaurant, then you run into a 20 page menu and never want to go back.
@@Mike__B You can buy the Philips from EU with delivery to US but will cost more. Alternatives that are better then the heavily marketed brands in my opinion are GHL Mitras 7206 or Giesemann Stellar (T5/LED) with a led.
So the question is is the Pro worth it over the non-pro version? A vast majority of people I've talked to don't get anywhere close to maxing out their power on any channel that they use, are the extra LEDs that are packed in there worth $160 price differential? Also is the unit crippled without a reeflink? Can you still get the custom settings (AB Plus for instance) without it?
I'm starting a 40-gallon breeder saltwater aquarium with corals I don't know what what I'm going to use for lighting yet so any suggestions under $300 would be appreciated greatly
Are they worth it? Well I'm not sure if i will purchase the "next generation" of Radion. i have owned every previous generation of the Radion XR30w fixtures, and my current being the g4 pro which just to be clear i love, but now there's ecotechs new toy, the g5! Sure the new g5 looks impressive, but why has it taken 4 generations to get a fan filter and inbuilt wireless capabilities, and some features are not functional from day1 :| Off-site WiFI control is missing from the G5 at launch but will be enabled in the near future.

@Prestige Reef did you buy them or you received them from EcoTech ?

whats the best cheaper alternative? Cant afford £2k on lights right now
I have two of the XR15s on brackets on my tank. They are the best of the Ecotech equipment I have.
what size and settings please! your thoughts overall
So worth the extra over the 52s? Ever thought of running the front to back? Or to you need the left to right coverage more than front to back?

With regards to growth its hard to say as I've lowered my KH but with regards to colouration it made a big difference
Prestige Reef Thanks for the info

Agreed .EcoTech is mostly marketing .The Philips leds are way better and cheaper for example ... to give just an example.

Yes they are in almost every way. Par is better and spread is way better.
@Nick Culver www.lighting.philips.co.uk/consumer/coralcare . One for each 100cm x 80cm is more then enough.

Can you do a AI Prime review? and if their worth it?
I have 3 AI Prime’s and
Absolutely love them
Radions are well worth it and I'd love you to add up what you spend on bulbs. You spend way more on t5 bud
I havent had bulbs in years

I'm better testing a new program for Ecotech which will be out soon so you dont need the reef link
I am definitely torn between AIs and radions... Cheers on the 30k subs 👍🤙
Très intéressant, merci !!! 👍👍👍
Damm nearly $900 for a light ...that’s just crazy I think they just jack up the prices for no reason smh

5:35 what is that? Looks super cool

Great light, I have the XR15
If it helps, ecotech makes AI as well so you didnt stray too far 👍🏼😁
Can you do radion vs orphek video

Who’s tank is at 2 mins 21 secs?
It was a tank at Interzoo
👍
Nice review
There is no way I am spending 800 dollars on a light! My wife would divorce me instantly!
