I have a ton of winter sowing videos that I'll be making. Feel free to winter sow your seeds along with me this season! I'll then make update videos on each of these plants as they germinate and show you my process for fertilizing them, thinning them out, potting them up, etc. Have you ever winter sown Foxglove seeds? If so, how did you with this process? Let me know which varieties you grew! 🌸🌱 How to collect Foxglove seeds: ua-cam.com/video/j0Z1PE5ucGU/v-deo.html DIY Potting Mix: ua-cam.com/video/oCzeOhM8BlM/v-deo.html Winter Sowing Playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLx94OYQcbu9q1eqxsLsxqWGvzmF2iWq5L.html
It was so funny that I saved one branch from an Excalibur foxglove and shook it out in my bed. Then I came in saw your video come up in my Ytube subs! I am zone 6a but we are very warm today and I needed to finish some fall chores. I have grown from seed before and transplant very well. Tomorrow is the rain coming. I never cut mine for indoors because I love ❤ them in my gardens. Your sister in laws beds looked lovely.
Hi Lisa! Great minds think alike! 😅💞 I love how easily Foxglove plants grow. They are so expensive when you buy just one plant from the garden center! I'm with you when it comes to having a hard time cutting the flowers from certain plants for arrangements. They just look so pretty out in the garden! I will surely pass your sweet compliment on to my sister-in-law, Jen. 🥰
I watched a lot of winter seed sowing videos and have done this. Your videos are the best explanation of the process. Looking forward to watching additional videos 🌼🐝
This year I grew foxgloves from seed. I’m thrilled at how well they’ve done. They should all bloom this next year. The seeds were from Walmart for $1.44 per envelope. If I bought a plant, already blooming, it cost $16.00. This is way better!
Hi Julie. That's great! Did you winter sow them or grow them under lights? I'm sure they'll look beautiful when they bloom! You can't go wrong for the price of those seeds! You're right about how expensive the plants are in the nursery. Now I know why mine sold like hotcakes - I priced them too low! 😅🌸
My favorite!! I started some pretty early inside under lights, I seen another gardener start early too, and I also winter sown them last year, so this year will have blooms❤
I love this plant as well. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) blooms this year as I'm planning to turn my bay window flower bed into a cottage garden this year. 🥰🌸
Thanks so much! Making these videos is motivating me to get all my perennials winter sown first (and then eventually my hardy and tender annuals). I'm hoping others are following along and getting their winter sowing done as well. My daughter gave me the red Cabot Creamery hat that she got from college. It definitely is bright lol! 😅💗
Hi Gail. You're very welcome. I'm in zone 5b so definitely follow along with me in my gardening journey. I do my best to start seeds at the appropriate time in terms of my average last frost date (which for me is mid May but for you may be slightly different). You and I should be able to grow the same perennials based on our zones. Take this move as a new opportunity with some fun challenges, friend. 🌹😊💞
Hi John! You're going to love the heat mat! I learned the hard way not to start every seed on them, but you can definitely start a good amount of plants on them. 😊🌸
Hi there. Great point. I did mention it at the 8:45 mark. It's so important to mention that in videos since not everyone knows which plants are considered toxic if ingested. Thanks for the comment, friend. 🙏🏼🌸😊

Hi Daisee. Thank you so much for your words of support and encouragement. I really appreciate it. 🙏🏼😊🌻

@ I grew them under grow lights which is also a first for me. I had to wait till I retired before I could do all this. Never had time before!

Nice job.
Thanks so much! 😊🌻
@ You are fast becoming my second favorite garden channel right behind MIgardener!
Love winter sowing content. And glad you swapped the red hat for the grey one 😊

Thank you for the timelines. I moved fron zone 9b to zone 5. I feel I am starting over as a gardener.

Don’t forget to mention they are very toxic 😢
