I think your headlights may be aimed too high. Try adjusting them again when the truck is level.

I would agree with this assessment. The correct way to aim your lights is to first pull the car right up to the wall and mark the center of the lights on the wall with relation to the car. Make sure you get the height and left right as close as you can to where the lights are on the car. Then back the car up 25 ft. The surface must be level and the tire pressures must be correct. Now turn on your lights and adjust them so that the center of the high beams hit the marks on the wall. Then when you turn on your low beams, the center of your low beams should fall about 3 in below the marks that you made. Basically the high beam should point directly straight ahead and level with the center of the lamps and the low beams should gradually drop the farther away you are from the wall. When they drop approximately 3 in in 25 ft, that is roughly about the right angle.

$400 for headlights? Ouch! The day lighters were a nice touch. They look to have made a real difference.

Wow my grandfather had that exact truck and even had a wooden toy truck made after it along with his trailer he pulled. I still have the wooden toys but the truck is long gone.

I do think the fog lights look better on the inside of the bumper guards rather than the outside that you were debating between. I wish that KC made a square/rectangle old school looking lights as I prefer the rectangle look to closer match the headlights. Thank you Jason for the review on the Holley headlights! I had been thinking about upgrading my headlights to LEDs but the ones I found didn't look very good so I will look into the Holleys
Disagree, I am a Photographer and my wife is prettier than Marilyn Monroe so with those credentials of good taste here goes: I used photoshop to place the KC Lights outside the Bumper Guards and they clash with the beautiful lines of the amber parking lights so NO they would look awful in that position, But they are too close together perfect position should have been 1 inch to 1inch 1 1/2 from inside Bumper Guard which is almost precisely dead center of the four square holes. KC Lights made square defeat the purpose and tradition of the smiley face. And last but not least he said he was not thoroughly impressed with Holleys maybe the 2nd generation of this model will be perfect.
@@AlienGrade As a professional novice I am confused about your statement as it sounds like you are agreeing with my statement in the placement of the lights not being on the outside of the guards. You're right that KC would probably never mass market/produce rectangle lights given their logo so I personally would go with a different company that makes rectangle lights
@@josephmettes9147 They actually used to make square lights, but have since discontinued them. And what he’s saying is that while they should be on the inside of the bumper guards, they should be spaced a bit farther apart

Jason, it looks like you have an np435, what gears do you have in the rear end? I just put one in mine and it drives like a tractor and runs at like 3500rpm at 85kmh. Thanks for the sweet videos! They really help a lot!
Its a huge reason why I cant justify the holley headlights I will just stick with my glass hella composite bulb housings and H4/9003 silver star ultra bulbs in my truck. Where Im getting most of my upgraded light is my two 100w KD Apollo driving lights that I have wired into my high beams.
I really want to add a roll bar in the bed and throw on two more pairs of the daylighters, a pair of spots and a pair of floods, draw back is if I do that Im looking at 100A of required electrical power unless I downgrade the Daylighters to 55w bulbs over the 100w bulbs they come with. They do sell the LED versions but no one really does a real comparison at night time between the 100W version and the LED version, I suspect the 100W hallogen version will be brighter.
Your truck is beautiful i just bougth a 1987 dodge w150 but it is in pretty bad condition
I like the holleys. they're the right style and color for a classic car. I bought the 4x6. but they are expensive af, too much foreground light, lots of wasted light right in front of the car, and high beam is pretty useless. Also they're not letting anyone discount them so if you want them you're paying 179.99$ at least pee unit, cash back excluded.
I totally agree. They’re better, but for the money I was expecting more. I do love the style and subtlety so I’m still happy with them.
I wish all automotive led bulb companies, like Lasfit, Auxito, sylvania led, VLED’s etc etc. would offer a nice 3100k classic white. Or just make a fancy acronym name like DYSB (Dingy Yellow super bright).

My truck has Holley Retrobrights that are around that color temp. They’re spendy… but I’m with you and didn’t want them to stick out.
These lights cost more than half as much as I paid for my truck. Must be nice.

I'm trying to find a first generation Dodge Ram pickup that's affordable. Not real easy to find.
Yeah I was pretty fortunate. I bought The Old Dodge for $1800 back in 2017. I've invested way more than that since, but I wouldn't sell it at this point. It's an awesome reliable and simple truck.
