      Right? Japan only has a 2% foreign population and most of that is still comprised of other Asians. So, when non-Asians screw up there, it makes ALL non-Asian foreigners look bad. The one positive though is that these idiots usually stick to the populous areas where there's non-Japanese people around who can understand them and confront them. I really feel like the shit Logan Paul had done would never be able to be replicated on such a scale today as someone would also coldcock him if he tried. Shame anyone has to do that, but the alternative of letting them go unchecked is worse.

So how is it any different with this Somalian guy? Just because he’s a man? • @quetzalcoatl88
    @quetzalcoatl88 8 місяців тому +587

    It probably goes without saying, but WAY too many people forget these days that whenever you travel to another country, you're automatically representing where you came from. As wrong as it is to judge an entire people by the actions of a few, you still have the unspoken responsibility to make a good impression wherever you go because that shit affects the rest of us and acting like a total menace makes all of us look bad. You're not just a simple traveler out there, you also become an ambassador of sorts.

    I’ve been fortunate in my life to have visited Japan twice. But every time I go there, my self-consciousness and awareness raises itself a little higher.
    I always knew how polite and respectful people there were. So in some instances, I worried about my appearance before I would go out to explore whatever area I was visiting for the day. I did not want to act too drastically in how I usually do, because I did not want to end up doing something that could offend the locals or look at me weird.
    A little embarrassing incident Happened once when I was
    A kid by accident. I’ve been careful ever since. With any country, I always hoped I wasn’t ‘That tourist’

    I worked in Japan a number of years ago, and an American colleague was arrested for drug (marijuana) possession. Custody rules are very different in Japan, and we his colleagues didn't even know he'd been arrested for over a week, as he was not allowed outside communications for some time. We even reported him missing, and the police volunteered nothing at first. He was ultimately deported rather than tried and imprisoned, which was probably the better outcome in the long run.

      Nah Japanese people confront others in Japan, but it depends on the time, place, people, and situation. You might see it more in the cities too, especially in Tokyo or Osaka.
      But clout chasers are increasingly becoming a nuisance in Japan, and slowly you’re starting to see people standing up against them. Unfortunately most people will still be non-confrontational and generalize foreigners.
