  • Over the course of the next few months, we will release a number of shortcut videos that will hopefully help you find some examples of appropriate stoves (given your intended use). If you have any alternate suggestions then chuck them in the comments, because that too will be very useful to anyone looking to buy a stove that will service a particular function, or type of use.
Also, check out our website below for stove accessories, written stove reviews and stove spares like: glass, rope seals and fire bricks.

Love my Ecko Apple Pie, it's on a narrow boat so it being tiny and having neat back guard around it works great.

I would ordinarily leave it a year before having it swept, particularly with a modern stove. However depending on your fuel and use it is certainly possible to need a flue swept in a matter of weeks. A good check could be to remove the baffle plate from your stove, and (using a mirror and a torch) check your flue. It may also be possible to take a picture and send to your sweep if you want to be sure.
Always glad to be of some help

    What about Esse?

I have an Esse Bakeheart, we cook on it often in the winter time, at least every weekend. We had a 3 day power cut a couple of years back in December. It gave us hot food, hot drinks, kept the North side of the house tolerably warm, allowed us to boil enough water (flasks keeping water hot plus kettles and pans) for a quick rag wash in the shower (freezing in there). They are pricey and the Esse website is awful for finding spare parts. The Esse staff on the other hand have been nothing but helpful. Although it is not recognised as an overnight burner, I have found that there is still heat and embers in the morning making restarts easy. I’m glad I have it.
