I've had this exact stove - Stovax Futura 5kw wood only - for a couple of months now. I'm happy with it, though it's my first stove so really I have nothing to compare it to. I do sometimes get smoke spillage when refuelling, but I don't take much care over when and how I do that so I don't know if it's the stove's fault or my own (I'd love to get more detailed tips from you on how to avoid this!). And I am absolutely the same with lazy ash buildup - and yes it does spill over sometimes and stop the door shutting 😅 But the view of the flames is great and it feels simple and easy to use. Looking forward to your upcoming review.
Yea it is nice and simple, but as you say ash is definitely down to laziness 😆
With regard to spillage it is all about when you re-load. If you wait for all the wood to have turned white and stopped flaming, there will be no issue. Whilst you’re re-loading before this point spillage is an issue on most stoves, so this technique is something that is best adopted by and shared, taught to all stove users.
Looks very clean lined and sleek should look good running I'm sure 🔥
It’s fantastic to watch burning 😅
Looks neat and I love the light touch handle. My only regret buying my first wood burner was not getting a right handed handle as would make loading easier, imo 🤔 Nice video, thanks 😊
😬 nightmare. I’ve never worried about that personally, but I do hear it from user’s occasionally. Obviously they will have their preferred side, depending on their set up, but I find I can work with either without an issue.
👍🔥
Really interested to see your review, particularly interested if you can refuel with no spillage, does the vermiculite baffle sit up against a diverter they are often the reason a stove will have spillage when refuelling,a good addition to your great reviews is to include the price the home owner would pay for a set of bricks
Interestingly we’re in the process of setting up a supply for brick sets. It’s a hell of a lot of work, but we’re getting there!
@@TheTortoise could you explain this to a newbie please? very interested if this refers to a way to reduce smoke spillage
Is there any adjustment on the door latch?
As the door latch & rope seal ages, older Stovax latches could be adjusted to maintain a tight seal. This was handy but the mechanisms were soft metal and wore out.
Thanks and keep going!
That’s interesting to read. There’s nothing to imply an issue, but I’m not sure there’s much in terms of adjustment either. To be fair though, having seen lots, I’m not expecting an issue.
I have asked before but do these stoves smell bad if with all the protection on them...like do you get a faint burning smell?
Only while the paint is curing for the first couple of small fires
Yea correct. Paint often needs to cure (although a lot of makes now use non smoker paint), but from there, there should be no issue at all.
looks very nice 5kw?
Yes, it is!
It has Ambition 5 written all over it. Hope it can compete.
Stiff competition there, but to be fair they are built with different uses in mind.
Ambition can have issues with spillage when refuelling
@@MegaSweep1 what about using a 6" liner ?
Amy, why don’t you know if it’s cast!!!
😬 I’ve no idea 🤷♀️
a very strange way to film.......not very dynamic...........
