    I am SO happy to see someone explain how a ballerina nail should look like! It is strong and it does not break because of super flat tips with no c-curve at all. I wish that a lot more UA-cam videos shows the whole nail from all angles. So when a normal client want nails done by a nailtech they have seen nails from more than a top view. There are so many people out there that think that this is a "thick" nail! But infact it is really thin! It just has a good apex and a good c-curve😉👍 Thank you for your great education😘💕💕

    • @WarningBillionare
      @WarningBillionare 5 років тому +3

      Well if they want it thinner they shouldn't use their hands cause their nails will be flying all over the place. Thats what im saying when they ask thinner😂

    I’ve been doing nails for about a month I have my license in cosmo and I know so much because I’ve been watching nail tutorials and what not since I was 13 years old but I always keep learning. And everyone told me to do acrylic because it’s stronger and blah blah blah but no I keep telling people it’s not that gel or acrylic is stronger it’s the structure that I give it. Anyways I did acrylic but I’m definitely going to move out of acrylic and stick to gel. It’s so much easier to work with even though it was my first time I loved it and it came out so good. I LOVE YOUR CHANEL IM A BIG FAN!! I hope to become an educator one day like you are. I love educating people

      Aliciainwonderland96 as someone who is rough on her nails, I prefer gel and polygel to acrylic. I find it doesn’t break as easily, and it doesn’t seem to be effected by auto fluids and chemicals(we build off road toys in our spare time).

    Yes ty sidewalls are my trouble area. I was def making a notch. I also gta try pinching, since it seems to help w the sidewalls... and making the nails straight out. Using dual forms got me used to a downward curving nail. I am a home diy’er ... rarely walked out of a salon completely happy. Even when spending 120 on perm French gel set.

    I'm in love with the way you do your nails especially the long coffin I believe it's my first layer I need to freeze it when I put it around my nail tip and starting to extend it out I believe that's where my trouble is starting from because as long as I sit there and play with it it gets a dip in it and by that time when I put my second stick lay on it then I add my Apex it all should be even I'm going to try as soon as I take these last ones that I put on my fingernails off I just need to learn how to get that dip out of the edge of your nail when you start out and I believe in this video that helped me alot but I probably have to freeze mine for a few minutes thank you darling and I will try to have somebody to help me figure this phone out how to email you a picture thank you with all my heart and greatly appreciate it you are amazing and a sweetheart🥰🔨💅💣📽💯💯💯

    Liz, coffin is the same as baillerina? Another question: is it possible to sculpt a short coffin? The reason i'm asking this is because sometimes clients ask for a ballerina shape but wish it short...in that case, the nail becomes less narrow, wider. We can still consider it to be a ballerina or coffin shape? (As I ask back then I don't know ih they are the same). Tks!

    Looks so pretty! I made short stiletto nails for myself lat week (yey) than after a witchy week I filed them down to an oval-ish shape. But I don't think I have enough curve in them (need to learn the art of nail forms :D) and I think I made them too thick, though I put some mylar in them because why not :D
    Hope you can do a video on how thick a nail should be (later) when the nail is short.
    Can't wait for almond so I can fix my mistakes :D
    THANK YOU! ♥

    hey, great videos, i feel like i really learn a lot watching your tutorials. So im not a nail tech, i learned all from youtube, i decided to do my nails myself after my nail lady, that i've been going to for 10 months canceled my appointment 2 day before my vacation trip to spain.
    I have a question,
    I watched a lot of channels on youtube and what i've heard about burning/heat is that if you put a lot of gel on your nails, you are gonna get burned in the lamp, so that is why you should brush small amounts of gel into your nail and cure in between while building the nail, to avoid that instead of using technique that you showed in one of your videos.
    I use a gel that doesnt burn in the lamp, and tried to build the nail like you showed in your video (build extension first, then nail) and used first a thick gel to build an extencion, and than used my anti-burn thin gel to build a nail, and while using the tick gel just to build extansion ( so not using alot of gel ) i felt the heat and it kinda burned a little.
    So my question is, whats causing the burning and how to prevent it?
    Ps. Your way of building the nail is definetly easier and faster :)

    Liz, how would you form and file a much shorter coffin nail, or would that be more like the tapered square you did?

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  5 років тому +2

      The shorter the nail the more you lose the specific shape. It's really hard to do stiletto or coffin on super short nails as it ends up looking different. Short coffins usually look like tapered squares and you also don't want to overfile the sides to try and force it as that will be prone to breaking. Usually I tell clients if they want an "extreme" shape they have to be willing to go long.

    Thank you so much for this channel I have learned so much and you are a great teacher. When you use builder gel is it always hard gel. I'm very confused when to use soft gel. And most of the brands I see are hard gel. Can you do extensions with soft gel. I would like to use soft gel to do natural nails can you show some brands of different kinds of gels.

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  5 років тому

      The correct term for soft gel is soak off gel. Hard gel cannot be soaked off with acetone. But there are builder gels available in both soak off and hard gel formulas. Same idea just the removal options vary. In my last video I used a soak off builder. Looks and feels like a hard gel but if you wanted to you could soak it off.

I have a cheap lamp for doing gel nails at home but I feel like it doesnt cure the gel as well as when i go to the salon. Do i just need to leave it in the lamp longer ? The gel just seems softer and easier to peel with the cheap lamp Help!

    If you file to refine the nail after you have finished applying the final top coat, doesn’t it break the seal that’s been created and making the nail more likely to peel?

      Nope. There's no natural nail on the edge because it's a gel extension.

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  5 років тому

      Rubber base is a new marketing term/ trend that's being used to advertise high adhesion base coat/builder gel in a bottle. There are lots of these types of gels out there but "rubber" is the new term being used. It's more of a marketing tactic than an innovation.

I seen in your “how to sculpt a hard gel nail” you used all three of these products and I didn’t see you use dehydrator on the nail before applying, does the adhere already have it built in?? Or should I still use a dehydrator ?

    • @TheNailHub

      Adhere has the bonder built in and using a rubbing alcohol/acetone cleanser is all that's needed. No other agents needed.

  • @kateapple1

    Would it be possible for you to do a video on the different toxicities of the different materials that we all use? I’ve learned recently that nail polish is quite toxic and I’m aware that builder gel and poly Gelineau of the other things that are used cuticle remover etc. are all highly highly toxic. So what I wanna know is exactly how toxic and what kind of side effects would it cause long term and short term and what can we do to stay safe. That would be amazing because I haven’t seen a nail channel that actually discusses any of this because I’m guessing they don’t want to scare people away from using these products.
