Hi, great tutorial! I have a question: If the dual form is really curved on the underside and it leaves a gap between the nail and the gel after curing, am I doing it wrong or is it the dual form?
It could be a few things! If the dual form is too curved or not the right size for your nail, it may not sit flush, causing gaps. Make sure you're using the right size and shape for your nails. Also, if you're not applying enough pressure when placing the dual form, it can lift, so try pressing down evenly but gently. Lastly, check the amount of gel you're using-too much can cause the form to shift, leading to air pockets. Try adjusting these and see if it helps! 😊 That’s why we offer both flat and curved dual forms-flat ones are great for those with a flatter nail. You can check it out here: glowtips.co.uk/products/flat-style-dual-nail-forms?srsltid=AfmBOorEhEAvw936irhFFHRLKPF4eRrP6AmMg1FGtQN1FoofS6lcPjx6
Thank you for this very informative video!! When you mean cure it for both sides, do you mean flipping the nail so the under part gets cured for 60 sec too?!
Yes, you can cure both sides by flipping the nail. We usually recommend this to beginners, as they might apply too much product and may not be sure how to check if it's fully cured. If you're just starting your polygel journey, curing both sides ensures thorough curing. Once you gain some experience and know how much polygel to apply to each nail and the appropriate curing time, you can cure just the front side since you'll have a better sense of the correct product amount. Hope this clarifies your question :)
To avoid bubbles, make sure the polygel is applied evenly on the dual form and avoid overworking it, as this can trap air. Gently press the dual form onto your nail without shifting it. Always check for bubbles before curing, and if you see any, remove the dual form, smooth the polygel, and reapply. please watch our video for more detailed explaination : ua-cam.com/video/OrlBthKXHl8/v-deo.htmlsi=iTQgAqP85y7L1i3G&t=529 . hope this helps :)

I have a question. I bought a polygel nail kit from a different brand and it was meant to have everything in but the polyclip is missing. Do I need the clip or can I use the method you did in the video?

I do a lot of dishes and a lot of cleaning and I don't always use my cleaning gloves for everything but how do I keep them last in like acrylic I want them to last longer than a week
Hi Wonderland Smith, if you do your nail prep properly and ensure that the Poly Nail Gel is adhering to your nails properly, they can last a really long time. But if you use your hands in the water a lot and when there is a slight lift on your Poly Nail Gel nails, it's not going to last and can trap moisture between your Poly Nail Gel and natural nails which can cause green nails. So please make sure you do your nail prep properly before applying the Poly Nail Gel, so that you can have beautiful-looking nails for as long as possible! and Yes, please continue to wear cleaning gloves whenever you can, it really does help to make your nails last longer! :)
If you have to do a second coat of polygel for spots you missed do you have to put the base coat on top of the existing polygel or just add the polygel on the already cured nail?
You can definitely apply the second coat of polygel directly without a base coat. Even after curing, the polygel remains slightly sticky, so it should work well. I hope this clears up your question! :)
Hi, it's not recommended to use nail glue instead of a base coat before applying polygel. Nail glue is designed for adhering nail tips and isn't formulated to bond with polygel effectively. A proper base coat ensures better adhesion, prevents lifting, and protects your natural nails. Using the correct base coat will give you the best results and longevity for your polygel nails. If your current base coat is not good enough, try the same brand polygel base coat. This is because products from the same brand are formulated to work well together. Hope this helps
I’m so glad I found this video!! I’ve tried and failed at polygel three times now. My issue is that around my cuticles looks super messy, but watching your video has really helped
Hi Vicky, we are glad that our video is able to help you in your poly gel nail journey. If you have further question, please do not hesitate to ask. We are happy to help! :)
Hey there! Thanks for the compliment on the video! 😊 We typically cure polygel nails under our nail lamp for 60 seconds. If you're using a lamp from a different brand, I'd suggest checking with them for their specific curing guidelines, as it can vary between manufacturers. Can't wait for you to get your kit and start creating!
I’ve bought the polygel kit from glow tips and I’m waiting for it to arrive, the one thing I’m worried about is the nail sizing! The video says that it needs to be bigger than the nail but then it also warns not to get polygel on the skin, but if I choose a dual form bigger than my nail then the polygel will cure to my skin - do you have any tips, please?
Hello, thank you for choosing Glowtips and showing your support! We appreciate your order, and we hope it arrives promptly. When it comes to selecting the right size for dual forms, we suggest opting for a slightly larger size, especially if you find yourself between sizes. The key factor to consider is that the dual form should adequately cover the side walls of your nails. For a visual reference, please check the video starting from the 3:51 timestamp. During the application of polygel onto the dual form, it's important to apply gentle pressure. Pressing too firmly could result in the gel overflowing onto your skin, which is why we discourage using a small dual form that doesn't fully cover your nail. By choosing a size that provides proper coverage, you can achieve the desired results without the risk of excessive gel spilling onto your skin. We hope this explanation clarifies any concerns you had about selecting the right size. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. We're here to help.
@@glowtipsofficial my order came! Im finding that no matter how little I use, my poly gel never cures in the middle of my nail, the top cures but it’s squishy inside - I’m not sure why though!
@@bethnoted No worries, we can try to help you. Did you use our nail lamp? How long you put your gel nails under the nail lamp? What colour gel did you use?
Do you mean wiping the tacky layer of the polygel? You can also use the slip solution included in the kit, a nail cleanser containing alcohol, or 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not use acetone. Gently wiping the nails is sufficient to remove the tacky layer. Hope this helps :)
Hey there! The time it takes really varies depending on your comfort level with polygel. For us, it took about 40 minutes for each hand, but that's also because we were filming simultaneously. If you're fairly experienced, you might be able to do both hands in around an hour. Just remember, the more you practice, the quicker and easier it becomes!

@@KiratAujla820 Hello and thanks for subscribing! 😊 It's a fantastic question. The thickness of the polygel really depends on your goal. Hi, thank you so much for your kind words about my nails! I'm glad you find them pretty. We are having a sale now, save you some money! glowtips.co.uk/collections/sale
I put either nails on top or use nail forms. It keeps my nails the correct thickness with no bumps and I don’t worry about trying to get it all spread out.
First of all, avoid pressing the poly gel-filled dual form too hard onto your nail, as this can cause the gel to overflow and create an uneven surface. Gently press it down and apply the dual form. If you find the poly gel too thin after curing, don’t worry-you can always add another layer to build up the thickness. It may take a few tries to find the perfect thickness for your nails, but you'll get there :)
Hello, thank you for watching. To ensure the best results for your polygel nails, it's crucial to check if they are fully cured. The curing process can vary depending on the type of lamp you're using and the specific polygel you've chosen, whether it's fully opaque or clear. To test if your nails are properly cured, gently tap the underside of the nail. If it feels soft to the touch, this indicates that the polygel is not fully cured. In such cases, please place your nails back under the nail lamp by flipping your hand (palm face top towards the bulbs) for an additional 60-90 minutes to complete the curing process. I hope this information is clear. Let us know if you have further questions, we are happy to answer here :)

Hello! Are you inquiring about the durability of the gems on the nails post-curing? Typically, they should adhere securely for approximately three weeks, provided that your hands aren't subjected to rough use.
What kind of alcohol do I need to wipe off the sticky layer from the polygel? I bought some polygel myself and it has a tacky surface even after I cured it 3 times, I also use rubbing alcohol instead of slip solution as I do not have any, what should I use to wipe off the tacky layer? 🤗
Hi, you could use your slip solution to wipe it off too. Slip solution has alcohol content in it, so after you cure your polygel then dap your slip solution with a lint free cotton to gently wipe off the tacky layer. Hope this helps :)

They're just jealous your nails looks great and theirs don't. I've been doing acrylics for like 10 years, and gels for about 4 years now. Hated paying salon prices, so I learned. Lots of failures and video watching, but it's worth the struggle. Gel is way easier to work with. Keep at it and they'll look professional! Practice makes perfect right? You've got this!!! Fk the haters, let em hate.

So glad i found this. What I had been doing wrong was not waiting for the slip solution to evaporate before placing the gel/nail mold on my actual nail (every attempy the gel just peeled right off my nail bed).
The other thing i didnt realize was placeing the nail 3/4 on and THEN sliding it up to the cuticle 😅 i keep being left with extra exceess pushed out the sides lol. And last very helpful tip ill be using is making the sides thin and ghe middle thicker. Thanks for doing this video for us

That’s why we offer both flat and curved dual forms-flat ones are great for those with a flatter nail. You can check it out here: glowtips.co.uk/products/flat-style-dual-nail-forms?srsltid=AfmBOorEhEAvw936irhFFHRLKPF4eRrP6AmMg1FGtQN1FoofS6lcPjx6
This was very detailed and easy to follow. Thank you
Thank you for watching, glad that you find this helpful :)
I just love the whole process
Thank you for your support
If you were to paint with gel polish would you need to add a base coat on the cured polygel? Thanks in advance for your help
Yes, we recommend applying a base coat on top of the cured poly gel nails. You can read more about it here: glowtips.co.uk/pages/base-coat-polynailgel
I’m struggling when using the nail slip solution on the polygel because I see some bubbles. Why is it happen? Do you have any solutions?
To avoid bubbles, make sure the polygel is applied evenly on the dual form and avoid overworking it, as this can trap air. Gently press the dual form onto your nail without shifting it. Always check for bubbles before curing, and if you see any, remove the dual form, smooth the polygel, and reapply. please watch our video for more detailed explaination : ua-cam.com/video/OrlBthKXHl8/v-deo.htmlsi=iTQgAqP85y7L1i3G&t=529 . hope this helps :)

Can this method also work for acrylic gel too? New to this.
Hello, I'm sorry, but this technique has been proven to work only for polygel nails.
@@glowtipsofficial it does! Thank you so much

Hi the base coat i use doesn't keep the nails for too long can you add nail glue

How long it will stay
@@chaitanyachaitu1875 Hi, it will stay around 2-3 weeks :)
Omg same.. almost wish I never bought it 😩
@@SAJK0KAT Hi, are you still having issue using it? :(
great video ^_^ i would love to know how long you cured your nails for in the beginning of the video. i cant wait for my kit
@@bethnoted If you need additional help, please email us hellp@glowtips.co.uk :)
Thank youu!✨I learned that slip solution isn’t the same as monomer🙈
Oh yea, the chemical composition between monomer and slip solution is completely different x 🙈
can you use hybrid nail polish intead of gel?
Yes, it would work too. Remember to apply base coat over the polygel nail.
What kind of alcohol are we supposed to use for wiping?
Do you mean wiping the tacky layer of the polygel? You can also use the slip solution included in the kit, a nail cleanser containing alcohol, or 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not use acetone. Gently wiping the nails is sufficient to remove the tacky layer. Hope this helps :)
Love it now how do you do the right hand?
I love the tutorial it is very important detailed.
Thank you so much for watching, we hope you learn something new

@@glowtipsofficial subscribed! Thank you. Could you show in the video how thick the polygel has to be? I think I do it thin or too thick.
@@KiratAujla820 Hello and thanks for subscribing! 😊 It's a fantastic question. The thickness of the polygel really depends on your goal. Are you aiming for nail extensions or just an overlay on natural nails? 🤔 For extensions, you'll use more polygel. Check this video ua-cam.com/video/LcTzTwpIL_M/v-deo.htmlsi=DcI2oij8r4AGc87Z&t=246 to see our method for extensions. For overlays, take a peek at this other video ua-cam.com/video/g4FvxL7Zd9Y/v-deo.htmlsi=6_jxwIIdtu9RBcSy&t=279 .

I struggle with making sure the thickness is even when molding it in the dual form
Do i have to cure the polygel on the underside too?
This is very helpful ❤

Hey! Quick question, how long do gem/crystals hold on topcoat for you when cured?

What kind of alcohol do I need to wipe off the sticky layer from the polygel? I bought some polygel myself and it has a tacky surface even after I cured it 3 times, I also use rubbing alcohol instead of slip solution as I do not have any, what should I use to wipe off the tacky layer? 🤗
Hi, you could use your slip solution to wipe it off too. Slip solution has alcohol content in it, so after you cure your polygel then dap your slip solution with a lint free cotton to gently wipe off the tacky layer. Hope this helps :)
I use acetone nail polish remover to get rid of the sticky
