“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!
Watching Greg file the arches I'm watching and noting the zones of the nail bit in relation to the zones of the nail. It's starting to be second nature. "By George, I think she's got it!"
it just takes time and practice🙌🏼😉
You are so talented and such an amazing teacher. Thank you for sharing all your information and teaching us how to do it and do it right. You all are so great and so loved.
I love that you guys are doing more gel videos with the applicators! Definitely been waiting for it! I have a question though, could you do a video with the practice hand tip short and a bit more squared or rounded? Rarely do I have someone with long natural nails so seeing a video on how to sculpt with the shorter nail tips would be so helpful! Thanks 😊
good suggestion, we will let the team know!
@@youngnailsinc thank you! I really love the applicators they've made doing gel nails a million times easier 😊
It's so interesting to me,how every person's rendition of a nail shape(cofffin,in this case obviously) can differ so much. I have to say though, imho Greg has the best coffin shape of em all.😁 Beautiful nail. Thank you😊
Seriously, the best!
Greg, in my opinion does this correctly, that's how it should look.
I cannot stand those coffin shape where the nail points upwards towards the sky.
That kind of nail has no strength or structure, (its side walls have been removed) besides being ugly.
I just dont understand how Greg puts the form on straight, and creates this...
I've seen other creators say put the form slightly pointed down, while other say put it slightly pointed up...
I'm dizzy and confused...
😊
Beautifully done ✔️ 👏🏻
You make it all look so easy!! Ima keep at it TILL I get it perfect!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😘
So happy to see you guys are doing more gel nails 🤗
😍 Greg you’re so serious and such a nail rockstar. 💕👍🏻
Now that is a beautiful coffin nail!!! Sooooo elegant and downright sexy. The Precision Applicators are genius. I struggled so much with gel application until I used one of these. It literally taught me how to properly float the gel. Once I was able to grasp that concept, I was able to apply gel with a brush so much better, and I no longer have this ugly lumpy and bumpy nail that takes forever to finish file. Just learning that one technique cut my time down exponentially. I absolutely love the applicator, but I also love being able to build the nail with a brush as well. You guys are amazing!!!
Beautiful Greg as always
Found it!!! Great video 100% Greg
How come you guys don't say... "Right here, On Nail School!" anymore? I loved that! Lol
Wow I really needed this video! Thank you!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 💞💞💞💞
Literally... how do you guys always know what I need!
Greg is a beast yo. Hands down
I do wish your applicator kit came with the base and protein bond. It could be a full kit like the other gel kit you have. I'm still gonna buy everything because you have awesome products!
Excellent video as always! This is exactly what I was looking for!
Wow love this 😍😍
What a gorgeous shape!
Great video as always thanks for showing!
Gorgeous
Love the vent, so glad i purchased it! I used to file my nails outside cause of the mess. Thank you young nails for making such a great, affordable product once again!👍🏼❤️

Thanks Greg! I love gel and I’m still learning, this video is just what I needed!

This colour is so pretty
This is how perfect I want to be at this
Id love you to do my own nails one day. Its a challenge the way they are natural shape
The. Perfection .👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

[...2 hours later]
🤣🤣🤣💕💅🏼
Thanks !
Awesome. Im having such trouble with my sidewalls. Cuticles are better but those damn sidewalls 😭
Question, when it comes to stiletto, almond, square shaped nails, etc... is there a different way to apply the form for each nail shape?
you would put them on the same way but how you pinch the form is different depending on which shape you are doing. Those ways are in each of our videos on those specific shapes.
Thank you so much for your reply! I’m going to sign up for the shaping class as well!😊
If you realize you need more product once you start filing, how do you add more? Do you need to swipe, base then add or just go over top with the cover pink? Thanks
As long as there is texture to the gel you are adding on to you can just add to it
How come you guys don't say... "Tight here, On Nail School!" anymore? I loved that! Lol
❤️
Can you use the standard builder gel in the same way?
If your builder gel is a soft gel and can be soaked off with acetone then it's not meant to for use of extending the nail this way unless otherwise specified by whichever brand it is.
This is hard gel and is similar to acrylic in the way that it can be used to extend the length of the nail, but it is no-porous so it cannot be soaked off.
@youngnailsinc I use Young Nails Builder Gel!!! It's my favorite!
I haven't tried the YN gel you have in this video so that's why I was wondering if I could use the YN gel builder!
You can build the nails with any of our "building" hard gels. The only differences are color and the consistency of the gels.
What number you use to prep the nail with the sanding band?
It's at 3,000 rpm
Is that base gel same as builder gel..!!??
No, it's our hard gel base. You don't want to build the nail with base.
82 like always excellent
My gel gets under my nail at the tip. When it grows out it creates a weak point. What am I doing wrong?
Are you using plastic tips or forms?
Ugh I've been doing nails for 5 years now and I still can't do it this fast, or perfect 😩 I feel like I always take the sidewalls too far in. Also, does anyone else struggle with/notice more lifting under the concealer colors on long nail clients when they come back for a fill? Build is usually fine but for some reason the more thick / opaque gels do that on a few of my clients.. I don't apply too thick either but I do build them up a little more so they have more leeway before breaking them. I have some rough clients but I can't blame them if it's something I'm doing 😂
At the end when you show the pictures - I feel there needs to be a side profile, so we can see the arch.
As well as, a frontal view down the barrel, so we can see the C curve.
This is nail school..
so show it from every angle.
Please and thank you.
😊
Early 💕
Now that is a coffin. Take notes ppl.
Wdbbgood to mention the bit you used
For removing bulk & shaping, we used our coarse safety bit.
