I live in Oregon and I work in a nursery.
FYI- on your Thai. If you can get a grow light above it and blast it with light, it stops the melting My Thai and Albo live under Soletech lights and close to them. I have no issues with melting or browning. They have been under these lights for several years now.

I like to water everyone at least once a week. My main watering day is Saturday or Sunday with fresh nutrient water (I do semi hydro) then I will go through on Wednesday to see if anyone needs a mid-week top up.
