1. Soak the chickpeas in a water over night. Place the chickpeas (garbanzo beans ) in a large pot and cook for 1 hour or till it soft. add the salt and cumin and boil for 5-7 minutes. Set aside (don't remove the water from chickpeas you may need it to soak the bread layer).
2. Cut pita bread into squares and toast them ( you can also bake them or deep fry pitas).
3. Yogurt layer
Combine together the plain yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, salt, garlic. if it is getting too thick, add some chickpeas water.
To assemble the fatteh:
Spread the layer of pita bread first, cover it with cooked chickpeas (garbanzo beans) and some water to soften the bread. Follow with the yogurt layer to cover the full surface. Garnish with parsley, paprika, and toasted pine nuts.
The fattet hummus is ready! Enjoy.
Tried this and it was so delicious!! The only thing I did different was cook my pine nuts in ghee and pour it over.. if I had an emoji expressing the love of this, I'd use it 1000 times. 😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for this recipe! ❤️

WoW! Very new for me! Do you eat it as an accompaniment? Looks very nice and I guess should be delicious with all pine nuts!
Hi :) Fatteh is very tasty dish, version without meat usually serves on Breakfast. Some version with meat can be served for lunch/dinner. give it a try 🌹
ua-cam.com/video/vBcxVDtoZ2A/v-deo.html here fatter with eggplant and meat, get a look ;)
Dolma thanks, so when you put the yogourt mix on top, you serve immediately? This dish is served warm but not hot isn’t? I love eggplant and all those ingredients but never tried them together, with yogurt on top. Yes I will give definitely a try.
Exactly, fatteh should be warm but not hot, definitely must try. If you like eggplant you may be interesting to see babaganoush and mutabbal recipies, both are from baked (grilled) eggplant but different recipes ;)
amazing....
Glad you liked it, try it and share your feedback. I adore fatteh hummus and if you want to take dish to a new level you can top it with fried meat cubes. fatteh hummus with meat, same like I did on last video
@@DolmaRecipes thanks for the advice.. I'll try to make it this week..
I usually make this for breakfast on sundays you just add scrambled eggs on top
thats a great idea for a delicious+nutrition breakfast 🌹
Vegetable oil is questionable here. Traditionally, we have always always used samneh (ghee). It makes a huge difference in taste.
sure you can use a ghee. I do love olive oil and ghee! I did a note in a description recipe about ghee
Can you use canned chick peas?
hi, Yes in this recipe you can use the canned chickpeas, but put them in boiled water for few minutes to warm it up with cumin. Cumin is one of the key spice for fatteh
