mobilization brings many people together and agitates them. mobilization is good for sharing information, for identifying enemies, for fanning the flames of popular anger. without organizers, it stops there, that energy has nowhere to go and it dissipates. it is up to organizers to propagandize, to take that agitation and popular anger and to give it a practical edge. a revolutionary organizer knows how to identify the desire for revolution in all the "unconscious" outrages which manifests towards particular issues. a revolutionary organizer knows how to inspire the people by embodying the way of life necessary for its realization, and to make clear how this way of life can be built, and to instill in people an understanding that the future is up to them and not the organizer.
mobilization gathers potential leaders. organization realizes their potential.

    Mobilization (psychological passion)
    Organization (pratical/ physical manifestation)
    Translation (doctrine)
    Radicalization (fallacies)

Yup, although there's a *bit* of organizing happening inside of it, but not nearly enough.

Interesting, but I don't agree that mobilisation is easy.
It can be very difficult, especially on a consistent level. Often mobilisation is inconsistent, but with King it was a consistent mass movement because he was not too afraid, too stubborn or too egotistical to learn and grow.
He had the character to make people want to move with him.
Many who try to organise and mobilise fail to do so.
He also had the charisma and the talent and the power of words. He was a great orator. Kwame Ture, in a lecture, said that King was a creative genuis.

Still didn’t change the existence of racism. So mobilisation was pointless!

    • @simondilling5353

@@Fitricson I don't think mobilisation to fight for human rights is pointless just because a system of power opposes it. The alternatives are to do nothing or to do it individually or in a small group which does not change much. Hundreds of years of white supremacy cannot be turned over completely in two decades and it cannot happen without resistance and setbacks. Things can only change for the better through mass mobilisation. Power is gained in numbers.

@@greenlight8819 exactly racism will never go, so why wanting to live with racists together, sending kids to their school, invest in their economy etc? If a relationship is toxic, you should leave it. Why is it so hard to understand?
