Classic one liners by Andrew Camarata..."If you want to know how this comes apart...watch the video in reverse"..the man is a LEGEND!
Thank you to UA-cam for showing me a world of real people I can tolerate outside of my familiar realm. I love to see good hard working people who care about their jobs and friends and family. Thank you God for Andrew and his friends and family. I needed to see all his videos and enjoy their show of love and support.
ANDREW SHOULD BE AGE MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED YEARS ACCORDING TO THE SKILLS IT HAS, ELECTRIC, MECHANICAL, COMPUTING, CIVIL CONSTRUCTION, ENVIRONMENT, NAUTICAL, LOGISTICS AND OTHER THOUSANDS OF PROFESSIONS ... congratulations andrew camarata .... was the one best find of my 65 years !!
You are one hard working dude, and with a good sense of humor! Would love to have you as a friend .
Hey Andrew, I appreciate you talking about the diagnosis process.. thanks for taking time to do it.
Nice! Good to see this 22 year old machine still working. I've had to rebuild the char-lynn motors on our Bobcat MT50, nothing scarier than climbing under a machine that could kill you in an instant!
Thanks for the video, always nice to see you at work Andrew, a great reminder that life and business requires maintenance.
You're always on top of the maintenance. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Andrew. The symptoms you described are the same as my 642 right side. I would like to rebuild the drive motor on the right side and film it. Since I rebuilt transmissions for over 25 years it should be no problem. But only if I can find the parts. I will of course film it and upload to my Repair playlist. Ill be sure to give you a shout out in the Video.
I had no idea the drive motors were so small. Very cool.
I love your zip tie idea / I always used colored electrical tape but now I’m using your technique
Andrew.. I need you to tackle a complete rebuild on a drive motor so I can play your video while I do my own! Ha! Thanks for sharing .
I would imagine you go through a good bit of hydraulic fluid! Your videos inspire me to try and fix my own stuff !
I’m glad you bothered to film and post because I love all your great video’s / stay safe
You got to love that Bobcat build quality. Best in the world. 😂
It's not that many but I'm not familiar with average pump life. I can only speak for myself but I like your maintenance videos.
I got those hard tires on my JD318E. While great on hard packed surfaces, they cripple the machine on anything loose. You basically give up all floatation. I was fortunate that the dealer took them back. Wouldn’t use them anywhere but a salvage yard.
Little TLC those skidsteer last a long time so keep up good work
Looks good with the new shoes.
Good job, and finally, a man who uses a 'real' impact wrench. No more waiting for air to build up in a compressor,..and have to drag out air hose, making sure that there is no moisture in the air line's in cold weather especially.
I like those tire/wheel combo's. You'll get your money's worth from these, I'm sure.
II am writing from Russia to you an interesting life, I ride it myself, I’m breaking it myself and I don’t give it to anyone, but when the computers threw out my heart almost stopped

I know Andrew doesn't like computers in cars or machines... maybe he's going on the internet analog now! :-D
HELLO, from chihuahua mexico, thank you for the video and it is funny when you say, if you want to see me taking this off, just play the video in reverse, thank you and GOD bless you and your family.
Always good stuff Andrew.
I've never owned or operated a bobcat. Good to know info if i decide to get one. I reallly like the multiple angles you shoot the same scene with. You must spend allot of time making these videos.
Nice video Andrew. The new corded impact looks nice, I have a cordless Milwaukee (Milwaukee 2763-22 M18) that is a beast, I know you're probably close to a wall plug all the time time, but it might not be a bad investment to get a battery powered one... I know you like your new battery powered grease gun!
Did you ever work for FedEx or UPS? You handle those Dell PCs like a professional FedEx/UPS guy! Best part is you delivered them where they really belong. :D
lol
Im glad I found this comment. In his new video about all the cars he's ever owned, he plays clips from high school where him and his friends drive over a bunch of computers lol
I worked for usps
Lol, that was funny mate as well as being true,"If you wanna see how I took this off just play it in reverse" lol.
A beer and Andrew, priceless.
very good video friend is very original as well as instructive
Love the workshop 😎
That had to been a trip running that with one control reversed!
Tossing those computers looked fun ahahah, so satisfying smashing electronics!
Those were some OLD ass Dell Dimensions. I bet they were Pentium 4 or worse, not worth saving, however it is good to separate the aluminum and steel. I also try to recycle the plastics.
Hopefully, he pulled the hard drives out too.
Play it in reverse I wish that worked in real life. I like your Castle your videos and your work.
Thanks
Well done Camarata !!
Loving those orange wheels
Good job, I like those tires.. No more flats.
Yeah, those are the only tires to get.
I use the colored zip ties on all my hydraulic hoses...good tip!
i know you've heard this before but i wish you would rig yourself some jack stands! Another Video Idea!!!
This guy cracks me up!
I played it in reverse and he sounds funny when he talks. 😛
your videos are great ,your a top mechanic, does the bobcat run a twin hydraulic pump setup or a single one , i have on a hyd system diagnosed a worn hydraulic pump in the same way by doing what you have done swapped the left and right drive pump hoses over (fault moved from l/h track to r/h track) are you a mechanic or have you taught yourself? im a car mechanic and changed to heavy equipment
Do you still have your 10 wheel dump? I thought I saw it during so drone footage. Do you use it much? Thanks great video.
Hello everyone. One of my fathers friend has a 2004 Bobcat 553. The problem is that the engine shakes, vibrates so much on high, operating RPMs that the starter motor breaks down from it's holder. He already changed several parts around the engine (motor mounts, etc..) but we just can't figure it out. If any of you have any idea please let us know.
My takeuchi jammed up, but it wasn't the hydo part to the track motor, it was the gear set.
No replacements, or parts availability for units over 15 years old.
So I took it apart, removed the chunks, and filed the bent stuff out of the housing.
Takeuchi was willing to sell me two new units (As the speeds wouldn't match what the current models ran at.)
I passed as I'm not made of fucking money.
They available aftermarket? Or look for used? If not maybe make another part fit, or make the parts that are needed?
Andrew Camarata The planetary’s lost some teeth, and proceeded to bend up a few of the softer housing ring teeth.
The oem no longer offered anything close, and my machine was just about worth the price of buying one track motor, much less two.
So I would have popped for one, but I could’ve justify anything past that.
None of the local shops worked on anything small, and I really couldn’t give up the machine to mail it around with out a timeline.
I got it working, and sold it after I bought my kubota excavator. (The new owner was well aware of the defect, I showed him my videos on the track motor repair.)
But it really shied me away from buying a Takeuchi in the future.
hey Andrew, i have a hyd oil leak on my bobcat when an attachment using aux hyd is hooked up, have you had that kind of issue?
Andrew camarata were did you have the drive motors rebuilt I have a 04 case 75xt that needs both wheel motors and reman motors are about 1600 each I'm from newpaltz newyork area
You need a set of impact sockets with your impact wrench. That socket that you were using will break. I had one explode under a high torque load.
I've been using those for years, no problems yet.
Did you check your drive chains lately? I have a bobcat 773 with 6000 hours and took cover off to check oil level and my drive chains are so loose they touch the bottom of the chaincase. Bobcat said once they start slapping the chaincase its timeto replace them before they break and cause more damage. Im wondering if they can be replaced without removing the sprokets by maybe cutting them then tying the new chain to the old one and pull the old one out as the new one goes around the sproket. Instead of doing 10 times more work and removing axles and sprokets etc.
I have not, I'm selling that Bobcat, the thing is broken more than it works.
Hi Andrew, any idea what the power output of that drive motor is? BobUK.
I am working BOBCAT I LIKE YOUR VIDEO
play it in reverse lol!
Ok I can’t work out how. I’ve slid the bar to the end of video and hit play. That didn’t work so I tried while holding iPad upside down and that doesn’t work either! Please help I need my loader fixed for Monday
@@berry1002 Download the video and go here ezgif.com/reverse-video I guess
Played it in reverse but it wouldn’t go should I switch the hoses?
While simple those of us without big boy toys like bobcats still find it interesting.
It's an old video or you are late on the oil change ?
you had those same wheels already previously.
I got my actual computer case in a dumpster, the reverse way you dumped thos ones lol.
I still have it more than 12 years later.
The wheels were sitting around, I was waiting for that pump to come back.
How much was the rebuild and where did you have it done?
Thanks for the videos love them all. What fluid do you run in your bobcats I see it isn’t bobcat brand $$$$$
Tractor fluid
Use 10-30 oil is what bobcat recomends
Simple fix but glad you made the video. Because now I know it's simple. Thanks!
Where did you get it rebuilt? Local shop or send it away somewhere?
Yeah, that guy is local who did that one.
Older Bobcats Ingersoll Rand years good. Doosan now owns them . Doosan pretty good machines.
Play this video in reverse. Amazing
What viscosity hydraulic fluid do you run in the drive motors? I just bought an older 643 and having problems finding any good maintenance videos. Love your videos!
Put tractor fluid in it.
Thank you for sharing
alot of issues with t190 drives on tracked machines. Lost faith in Bobcat. I have older New Holland 785 bulletproof machine.
How do you know that the hydraulic front pump for the L motor wasn't the culprit? My 863 hesitates more on L than right, so wonder if it is the front pump of the hydrostatic pump or the motor? Love your video's. Watch all I can.
Replacing that motor fixed it.
Is there just on drive motor per side or one for each wheel? Seems like you are doing much more work on the wheeled loader since getting the tracked one. Loved the comment about playing the video in reverse!
One motor per side. Thanks
Andrew, you are having a lot of trouble with these bobcat's how in the world are you having 2 drivemotors (on the tracked one) rebuilt within 2900 hours. Poclain drivemotors on the small sized "knikmops" seem to last 8000 hours or more. Even without changing the hydraulic oil every 1000 hours. And they have 4 of them. Greetings from a machinery machanic. If you ever have questions, feel free to send a message.
Will that 743B pick up and move your topsoil screen? I've got the same topsoil screen and I am shopping for a skid steer and I am wondering if that size wheeled skid steer can pick it up.
Yes, but barley. A bigger one would be better. Really the tracked skid steers are so much better than the wheeled
What machine is that it looks small for a drive motor?
Hello, what is the displacement of this motor?
Hey Andrew, I watched your "building a 4 way splitter wedge" video but I have not seen a wood stove or fire place in you castle? How do you keep your place warm and cool? Thanks
I do not heat it, I wear a coat.
Andrew, I just watched this video again since you posted fixing your friends Bobcat video the other day.. Did you sell your 2 bobcats then?!? I've been wanting to buy a skid steer and you convinced me to NOT buy a bobcat..... Thanks for all of your videos and the effort that you put in them...
Yes I did, sold these two broken. All they did was break.
@@AndrewCamarata I thought you probably did. And i hope your "friend" returns your calls and pays you what he owes you... I hate when people you think you can trust never want to pay up. It's bit me a couple times.
Its that easy 👍🏾💯
Andrew, would it jerk to one side ,before stopping? Mine drives fine for 30 minutes, then gets jerky on left side jerks me to the right then shouts off and beeeeeep! Screen reads shut down or shut off!
how cold is it at your workplace? greetings from germany
Hi, that garage can be warm, the bigger garage is not heated.
Can you make an extendable arms for your bobcat so when ever you don’t get enough height to dump out from bucket it will help you to get job done ??
Kind of, there are buckets that hinge from the front for loading trucks. Or you can build a ramp, or just get a bigger machine.
My point is to make a job done with few modifications with out spending tons of money. I love Creating stuff make easy and solving problems. You are inspiring me but I have no way to Rich my goals . At list maybe it will help you
Thanks 4 video. be kind.
What was the cost of the motor rebuild ?
Landfill: Any Paint, Solvents, Televisions, or Computers?
Yeah, 4 Computers...
Landfill: Okay, that'll be 17,000 dollars, boss!
Yeah right, got to know where to bring stuff. The place where I bring trash for $100 a ton which is cheap, wants $25 per tire. That's crazy, many places charge $2 to take a tire.
Computers are mostly metal, so I throw them in with the scrap. But the other dump also takes electronics for free.
Maybe it is a silly question but why would you need both 864 and 743?
I have a 742 as well. Its nice to have multiple machines because sometimes a machine will be stuck on a job, and you will need it elsewhere. Or if one is broken.
Andrew Camarata
HI, what was the problem with the drive motor? Was it a bad sound or was it very noisy?
No bad sound. Just lost power and stopped moving one direction.
it would have been cool if you would have destroyed the harddrives before tossing the desktop pc's :) i'm sure you have some heavy equipment that would have been perfectly suited for such a task.
Your my hero....play it in reverse!!!
Also my bucket is designed just like yours. Is it designed for a grapple?
Yeah, but it was all missing. If you want a grapple just get a whole new bucket.
best said , play it in reverse.
Andrew why do you leave some of your equipment at you Dads and some at your house?
Need to find someone that will rebuild my drive motor !!
I had someone local to 12477 do that, Might have been Capital equipment service LLC up by Albany. But if you are not in NY Try Texas final drives.
@@AndrewCamarata thank you so much I will call them tm
Motor is ISUZU 4jb1 ?
I use paint markers on hyd. hoses.
Hey where did u get it rebuilt
How do you like the ratchet rake you have in the shed
That thing is cool. I recommend it. Its good for pulling out brush, it really hooks onto things and gets the roots out.
if you want to know how to take it off just play this video in reverse, classic andrew
Andrew your great i hate Bobcats because of you and even own one
/Hi Andrew Happy New Year! Where have you been? missed the Videos which are very entertaining
Thanks, less going on in the winter.
have you ever tried the bob cat mini excavators ? i found a good deal on thye 3.5 ton 430, comes with a 2.2 liter kubota, but i am still traumatized with all this issues you had with your bob cats
They are junk. Get something "made in Japan"
@@AndrewCamarata i guess Doosan being korean is part of the junk too?
@@AndrewCamarata i just went to the UK and bought a kubota U35 , I wanted the kx121 but it was gone.. 4 cylinder versus 3. lets see how it handles, seems solid with 3000 hours
Andrew Camarata where did you get the new tires for the Bobcat?
Here are some, these look the similar: amzn.to/35cieEO
@4:45, waiting for the flood of know-it-all comments saying: "You didn't tighten those lug nuts in the correct pattern!!!!!"
I was about to add one... My papa always told me, star pattern. :P
and he didnt use an impact socket...
And at 2 mph, you don't worry about wheels falling off 🤣
Ho yes play it in reverse .
Those Dells were about as old as the Bobcat lol.
Thanks Andrew. How many hours dose this loader have? I would say a drive pump is major. My JCB always pulls to one side just a bit. As you know I'm hoping to change it out this year for a tacked Kubota.
4100hrs.
hey do u know is it possible to run a sweeper with bucket on these old bobcats? im buying a bobcat and i want to be able to sweep and collect the gravel, dont want to buy and older machine if its not gonna work with this attachment. thanks
Yes, I have a pickup sweeper that runs fine on this machine.
Andrew Camarata that’s cool thanks. This would be my first machine I’m looking at a bobcat 743, I’ve a question about the operation of the sweeper if the attachment is operated by the right lever side to side can u drive forward and operate the sweeper at the same time or how does it work? Does it only spin when the lever is pushed to the side?
Yeah, you can still drive with the lever moved to the side.
Hey bud you still got this machine? I recently got one and just wanted to hear some feedback on it what your likes/dislikes are
thealfaman12 No, I sold the thing broken, I was always fixing it, I liked it when it was working though. Get a Takeuchi TL8. It’s cheaper than trying to keep a bobcat brand machine running. You’ll get 10x the work done and it will make you money faster.
