I believe the opening is a theremin, an electric musical instrument that sends an electronic field between two antenna. You play it by waving your hands between the antenna. You don't touch the instrument itself, but the way you move your hands produces different noises. It can be very haunting, but also lively and strange. It's a neat, lesser known part of the musical world.
A reason why Max probably did that is because Ben and Gwen were getting REALLY divided. They have their birthday the exact same day, the family used to celebrate toghether but with time Ben and Gwen started to dislike to interact. So Max is trying to make them mend their relationship.
@@TheAsylumCat I think Ben's dislike of Gwen was mainly jealousy though. Gwen does well in school, has lots of friends and is good at sports. Gwen is everything Ben wishes he could be. But the funny thing is that Gwen's character arc in this series is about overcoming her own jealousy of Ben and find value in herself. She always wanted to make a difference through heroism, but she felt she missed out on that when Ben was given the Omnitrix and she gets over her jealousy when she witnesses Ben giving up Omnitrix to save her. In that moment, she learns from Ben what a true hero is and that's why her affinity for magic is so satisfying.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 The UAF artstyle is very flat unfortunately, but I actually really admire DJW's style for Omniverse. Not everyone is gonna vibe with his style (he had a thing for giving people exaggerated jaws/chins, you see that in Transformers Animated too), but it's so colorful while also having good detail and good expressions/fluidity. Feedback's a goated Alien.

I love this show so much. Have you noticed that Ben did not become a hero because of a trauma? He already had the heroic seeds, and the Omnitrix gave him the power to be the hero he always wanted to be.
That “whistling” is made by an instrument called a theremin. It works by waving one’s hands through a space. That’s… pretty much all I know about the theremin…
It has two antennae on it that generate an electromagnetic field. By moving your hands through the field, you generate a distortion the device detects and converts into sound.
Fun fact. I can't remember exactly *which* Teenage Ben series , but there's a scene where Tara Strong VAs an alien, and the VA for Vilgax voices someone named "Bill Gax" -Tara "You look familar" -Gax "I get that alot"
I think the reason their designs this gen are s tier is you can see a lot about their personalities from their designs. Ben is rough around the edges and super relaxed, and it shows with his messy hair and baggy clothes, while Gwen is efficient and proper, and her sensible sports wear clothes that are almost form fitting but comfortable and neat hair match that. Plus their motifs are spot on from day one!
Grandpa Max calling Ben Diamond headed guy could still make sense if he was doing it to avoid revealing that him and Gwen had a connection to this alien that came outta nowhere (from the perspective of the civilians watching)
I don’t know why it took me this long to realized, but the probable reason why Max makes so many exotic foods is probably because he works with aliens a lot.
By Omniverse, Ben is also more willing to share that food, since he eats in several restaurants owned by or catered to aliens, he even shares a grasshopper smoothie that aliens (or at least Galvans) enjoy
4:25 One thing I'd like to add is that the kid ben tried to help specifically said, " If ben ever tries to *Play* hero again" A consistent thing in early ben is his immaturity mixing with his power viewing being a hero more about beating up bad guys and having fun than about helping people Ben is a classic "too much power not enough disipline" protagonist like sun wukong, goku, and others
The annoying thing with Ben 10 as a franchise is that Ben is stuck in a looping character arc regarding maturity and being responsible. He re-learns lessons all the time, sometimes in the same season.
11:52, What Ben just said here made me realized something that, intentional or not, is incredible foreshadowing. Gwen: So what did it feel like going all alien like that? Ben: It was like I was me, but it was also like I was somebody else. SPOILERS FOR FUTURE PLOT POINTS . . . . Azmuth, The Creator: I didn't create a weapon, all of you did. I created the ultimate device for understanding all the beings of the universe. A device that would let the wearer see the universe through the eyes of others.
@@aaronolson6736 That was not intended though, That was a glitch, especially because Azmuth never wanted the Ultimatrix to exist, and he didn't invent that function for that particular reason.
The Omnitrix was kind of implied to be a tool to end specism since you can see through the eyes of another. But yet you got people like Vilgax or Albedo who wanted to use it as a weapon, since the alien powers are formidable in a battle
This explains why Ben's mood often changes in the series when he transforms into certain aliens: Greymatter and Brainstorm allow him to become wildly intelligent, Rath makes him extremely prone to anger and uh..... Ghostfreak.... maybe this line works for a literal translation with THAT alien...
@@alienstar2088 there also have Ben's growth that affects the biological aspect of the alien, like Big Chill's pregnancy and Swampfire's puberty or even Serena and Bellicus within Alien X
14:00 The funny part about this is in Ultimate Alien I think. Ben asks Azmuth why that is and Azmuth just tells him that he initates the randomizer everytime he slams it, expecting more dexterity out of those fat fingers.
If you need a live-action Clone, you get Temura Morrison, you need the Clones voices, Dee Bradley Baker is your guy, especially since he just did another Star Wars series voicing 5 more Clones as the main characters, the titular Bad Batch
I think Kuro said it best in his Ben 10 downfall video, “Ben 10 was a series of constant changes in characters, continuity, tone and art style. It made it very challenging to be a fan of the show, all the way through. If there was something key you liked about the show, chances are it would be changed down the line. With it universe being imploded on by network demands over and over, what other options was there to just start over and reboot it.". I didn't know what he truly means until rewatching Ben 10. He was right in the things I love about the show were change and it was hard to continue watching. I still like the show, but the changes made it hard to watch. Although that is me. Just keep this quote in mind when watching the show.
From what I hear about the later seasons it kinda also misses the point of what is specifically charming about a superhero with multiple forms, by adding in elements of forms that get automatically picked for whatever is most convenient as well as overtuning later forms introduced to the point they have a sort of meta level power creep. It seems like a lot of the existing fans of Ben 10 just want to use it as a big stick for power scaling because like most Western superheroes there's no sense of restraint in the scale. As a Kamen Rider fan I can say that when you form a lot of the superhero's identity in making multiple forms that the hero is intended to switch between as a Swiss Army Knife, having too many forms or some forms that are explicitly better with no downsides can end up lukewarm. Half the fun is seeing clever use of limited powersets.
@@Zetact_ This reminds me of a lot of videogames where part of the appeal is having a really huge party that you can swap in and out, but inevitably a huge chunk of them are just useless. Indivisible, lookin at you.

I just hate that the show didn't give us a joker equivalent until way later and even then he wasn't in that many episodes when he could have been an amazing threat I mean come on the guy was a walking nuclear bomb.

Max's slipup was a stroke of genius. The writers probably knew everyone would assume that it was just some throwaway excuse so that way it makes sense that the characters 100% know it's aliens and not weird monsters. And everyone totally did assume that
Also Steve Blum, famous for his role in... * Flips through several massive binders * Everything. He's in EVERYTHING. Anyway he voices Vilgax, Ghostfreak and Heatblast.
Interesting Ben 10 fact, this kid 3:55 JT Was actually Ben's friend but he started too hang out with the other kid - Cash because he thought it would be better to make friends with a bully so he wouldn't get beat up.
1:32 Irony of calling him "The Big Bad" is that he literally gets ALOT bigger by the end of the season. Which kind of begs the question of how Vilgax was planning to fight the Omnitrix wielder without the literally massive power up he gets later.
@@Venom96930 Yeah but Vilgax didn't know that. As far as he knew the Omnitrix went to earth and ended up in someone's hands, meaning they could turn in a variety of powerful aliens. In his stronger form he has no problem fighting them, but in his smaller form I'm legit wondering how he'd do.

Something I loved about the show was how despite it being mainly about aliens it did include other things depending on what part of the country they visited. They introduced magic, mutants, actual monsters in some cases, kept things less predictable and felt almost like a mix of hunting aliens and cryptids.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105what about the later "mutants" like Cooper being a technopath, Michael Morningstar, the wrestlers Gatorboy and Porcupine, Nyancy Chan the cat lady, Clancy the bug guy, etc. We kinda don't know what they are even now.
I totally agree with your "eyes eating candy" description of the style. The change in style of the later series, especially Omniverse, was always a problem for me. The original was so pleasant to watch that any change just made things worse.
Omniverse was quite the change, but I did also love Derrick J Wyatt's other stuff, considering he worked on Teen Titans, Mystery Inc. And Transformers animated, he left a good enough impression to have me check it out
I personally hate the UAF era. There was so much that was retconned in the first episode, the Pokémon speech stuff when Ben shouts his alien names even when he hasn't transformed into the alien before, and the entire lead up to & episode for Alien X just made me not interested in that era.
If you watch the Batman (2004) I need to tell you right now that it is implied in one scene that Bruce did not get training around the world but was instead trained in Gotham and thus he is much more in touch with his humanity Edit: it was also made during the bat embargo
i like that its basically batman year 2, at least the first like season and a half. so we still see Bruce man making mistakes, and hes still dealing with rather low level threats.
2004 Batman is one of the healthiest depictions of Bruce. It's actually kinda refreshing, even if I do love me some brooding Batman. He even builds a bat-family without any bad blood and gets along with them. It's wholesome stuff.
That was indeed a fun fact. Here’s one in return. In Aliens, the sequel to Alien, there is a scene where if you look closely, one of the props is actually the Transformers G1 Shockwave toy mid transformation just spray-painted a different color.
@@luigiboi4244Here's another one, the classic Ben 10,000's face is based off of Tony Stark. Look at them side by side and they are practically identical
What I like is that the probes weird movements were remember and explained in Alien Force (Or maybe Ultimate Alien, it's been a while). When Asmuth explains that it did that sudden turn because it detected Max's DNA as the best plumber the force had. It went straight to Ben because he had DNA similar to Max as a blood relative and Ben was closer than Max was. I also think Max's favor of exotic foods was just a hint to his military-like background. When you're out in the field for hours or even days on end, you eat whatever you can geta hold of. And if you eat something undesirable long enough and eventually you will grow somewhat addicted to it or eat least like it more than what seems more normal to like. Hence why so much of the food he preps is often live insects or something that can be easily obtained out in the field during wars or in basic wilderness survival.
13:55 Actually, at this time Ben did have full control of the Aliens he turns into. The reason why he lost that control was because the mechanism was designed so that a Galvan (grey matter) could push it down and Ben constantly slamming down on it with full force messed it up.
It didn’t mess it up, Azmuth said it initiated the randomizer. A randomizer is an actual feature, however I always wondered why he would put a randomizer in there. Anyway. I guess if you mash it too hard you’ve basically selected “random.”
2:29 That noise is from an instrument is called a theremin. It's basically a box with two metal pieces sticking out you put your hands near to play. Due to their unorthodox sound and method of use, they've become synonyms with sci-fi as a genre (as mentioned in this section of the video).

I remember when this show first came out, with advertisements in kids magazines and toy stores trying to sell it. They all try different angles: magazine tried to go for the "heroic" angle with a mini comic that introduced stinkfly, toy store about the "gross out" appeal with wildmutt, ripjaws, and again stinkfly. I remember a lot of the other kids I was around at the time ( I was in 5th grade so we were right before Junior high) thought it would never take off. By the end of the first season, we had all sorts of "which alien would you want to be if you had to pick one?" Debates. It was a magical time. Somehow the show managed to marry so many things that appeal to kids: road trip, hero fantasy, gross out and bizarre humor, intrigued and mystery, sci-fi adventure... Good stuff.
I'm watching this on my laptop while making dinner, and when my mom came into the kitchen to get a drink, she saw Vilgax and instantly said "Ben 10". This show was such a banger, that even my mom could recognize it from a single frame. Of course, it helps that the frame had the main villain of the show in it, but still.
13:31 Actually that probably would have been the worst thing since Ben's parents probably would have brought him home which would have endangered them as well which Grandpa Max would have known.
Out of the aliens that Ben could transform into, at least the 1st series, Diamondhead was always my favorite. His ability to grow and manipulate crystals was always awesome to me.
It's still hilarious to me that the reason Ben kept getting an alien he didn't want was because he turned on the randomizer from slamming his hand down on it. And he never knew this until he was 17-18.
my definition of villainous is that the bad guy must be evil, but they need to be selfishly mean in treating people, intelligent enough to come up with good vile plans, good at deception, make people suffer, have the ego to be themselves, super rude and stink for everyone in full personality, such as Megatron, Starscream, Joker, Lex Luthor, Baxter Cartman, and whatever you know. I may not be racist at this, but I used to be scared of octopus and squid for personal reasons in childhood, I would rather admit my guilt that thinking octopus-looking characters are evil, evil is judged by their actions and personality.
The concept of Ben10 is basically a fusion of 2 other super hero series. One is "Dial H for Hero" from DC comics, where a kid gets a phone dial which allows them to become a random hero once they dial up the letters H, E, R, and O. The other is Japans first literally big super hero, Ultraman. A long running series made by Studio Tsubaraya where a human can transform into a gigantic silver alien for about 3 minutes until a timer device starts to blink red. And the later becomes funny once you know that one of Bens mightiest Alien forms he later gets, Waybig, is a direct Ultraman reference, even coming down to the lore behind it. (The home-planet of waybig is named "Tokustar", a reference to japans super hero- and sci-fi-mother genre "Tokusatsu"). And Waybig even just straight up uses moves from Ultraman.
I don’t see the ultraman inspiration outside of a human becoming an alien. Seems more like kamen rider with how drastically different the human form and hero forms are.
@@KGKSkull The Omnitrix works like Ultramans colour timer. Blinks red right before he transforms back into a human and works as a timer for the hero to be able to work as a hero.
@@EnerKaizer now I see it more, but I still see some kamen rider influence. Namely from kuuga and agito, with the various forms and abilities each one has.
Another fun fact. Although only speaking In gruffs and roars, Wildmutt has a VA. James Arnold Taylor voices him. Yup, Ratchet's VA came to a studio one day and probably spent an hour or two doing animalistic noises.
i was going to make a comment about how I preferred Mikey Kelley as the original VA for ratchet but apparently James Arnold voiced the character from 2/going commando on so I can't really talk bad about the guys VA chops aside from the fact that at least to me the 2016 "reboot" was kind of well "its a reboot told by an unreliable narrator." and really that's me disliking the reboot more then the Voice work and that's like complaining the actor is bad when the writer only gives them horrible dialog they can't work with. still fun to learn that
FUN FACT! the classic sci fi whistling sound effect is made using the theremin an instrument using your hands over to wires creating sound waves and outside of it's use in sci fi it was also used in the beach boys song "Good Vibrations". the specific classic sci fi sound used is a light imitation of the score from the 1950s sci fi film "It Came From Outer Space" a classic from the cold war era with a scripted penned by Ray Bradbury.
I know what you mean, I had only good memories with Ben 10. When I rewatched it recently I saw problems in all the series. But I had a good time and I enjoyed it. Still one of my favorites.
Man, Ben 10 was my SHIT as a kid, and it's still a passionate part of my little kid sectioned heart. It's far from perfect, from what I remember it's distant cousin Generator Rex was actually far more consistent with its writing. But such a novel concept carried through super well enough times to mostly skate around the mis-steps. You mentioned execution near the end, and honestly you're right. Ben 10 thrived because even when all its parts weren't excellent, there was a good chance a majority of them were. Tie that in with the fact that the Omnitrix being a device made it all the more easy for kids Ben's age to imagine themselves with it? It's really no shock it was a financial slam dunk. You mentioned Ben and Gwen's designs, but honestly? Classic is my favorite art style out of all the series, personally. Of course there's nostalgia for the times of super heavy hitting fight scenes. But even then, Classic has a sort of grit to its art style that I adore. It's not what I would call edge, but more like what it was inspired by. Pulp fiction and comics. Something kinda seedy where a design like Ripjaws feels right at home, yet not something super brooding and dark. So great to revisit again. Thank you Shady.
Yeah, I can definitely agree about the art style, as it's hard to explain, but there's just something about it that has a down to earth charm that seemed difficult to replicate throughout the spin-offs. And if I'm honest, Alien Force and Ultimate Alien had my least favorite art styles. 😮💨 Like, I wanted to like those shows, because I like the idea of following kid characters as they grow up, not just as they're kids, so seeing Ben as a teenager was an appealing concept to me on paper, I just couldn't get over the art style. 😩 Like, I think what bothers me most, is that the characters feel so much less expressive in those two shows. Like, their eyes aren't involved as much with their expressions, i.e. not widening or half-lidding enough during certain expressions, often making them look just annoyed when they should be angry, or mildly pleased when they should be ecstatic. It's also a bit too clean, and stiff and doesn't have any of the grit you mentioned that gave the first series its charm. But even saying all that, I actually don't mind Omniverse's style as much, and I'd even call it my second favorite even though it's just as clean and even more vibrant in color pallette, as though it still doesn't have that earthly grit, at least it's more expressive. 🤔🤷♀️
The first series, Alien Force and Ultimate Alien... Those three series are what makes the whole of Ben 10 so darn memorable to me. You get introduced to the core characters and concepts in the OG series, and it's expanded upon in the two latter series (which I also want to add had the best animation of the franchise.) If I had to choose my favorite alien, Upgrade was/is always my most favorite of his collection because he's essentially the Venom symbiote but with technology. It can control practically any form of tech - hi or lo and even up to cyborgs - and then morph their physical appearance to create hi-tech laser weaponry and other things. One more thing: *_DON'T_* go searching up the OG series of Gwen Tennyson, Shady - _too much R34, bro!_
Heavy and really sad spoilers for Omniverse here: During “So Long, and Thanks for All the e Smoothies” a Universe making/destroying device called the Annihilarrgh is set off and as a result the entire Ben 10 Universe is destroyed except for Ben who protected himself using Alien X (a Celestialsapien who can destroy Planets if not universes with a thought). He then recreates the Universe as an exact duplicate (but not an 100% duplicate). That means that ALL the characters that we grew with are technically all dead. Jesus that’s dark
Yet that also explains the crash scene: First it was Cannonbolt and then Ben used Armadrillo Also it's full names longer, the: Annihilaarghgenesistoriafimaorgost
Yes, but how much that actually functionally matters is up for debate For example, souls in ben 10 do persist after death, specifically in another dimension which i forget the name of, its the place ben and the group go to with charmcaster in UAF, so its very possible that the only thing affected was their appearances
@@Emily12471 Legerdomain, that's what it's called. And no, that's not the place where souls go or some kind of analog to the after life, that is a place of magic and magic beings. I think you're confusing the souls of the inhabitants of the place being forfeited for a ritual with the place being the after life. I checked each of her appearances to make sure you didn't mean a separate place, but that's the only other place or planet where she appears in UAF besides Earth. As for the latter, it's a ship of Theseus kind of situation. "if you replace every single part of a ship, one a time, is it still the same ship?" Or in this case: If you replace every single thing in the universe with an exact replica, is it still the same universe?
@@rushink ah thank you for the clarification, but i believe that the episode where charmcaster worked with the group to bring her father back to lofe(i have not watched uaf in ages) showcased that souls do go somewhere that isn't just somewhere else in the universe, so they would be safe from the Annihilarrgh, and thus unchanged Though i do agree with the ship of theseus thing
@@Emily12471 The souls were taken by some sort of being that exchanged it for a life. Since magic doesn't seem to have many rules in the series, the being could've just created a copy of the Charmcaster's dad, like Ben did. 2:01 changing the "will" from "can" as it's actually not only make sense but also more horrifying as it would mean even oppisition wouldn't work, instead or merely being buthurt of something he should expect.
Even to this day, I wonder why Ben and Gwen aren't siblings. They act like bickering siblings almost the entire first series. They even have the same birthday, so they're essentially fraternal twins.
The not able to fully control form thing is eventually explained. When he slams the selector down, it sometimes rotates the selection. 9/10 times the alien he gets when this happens is the next one in the line up.
10:26 In the Italian dub Ben called her "Rospa", in English Toad, wich is an insult that Ben used both at the start and during the rest of the show. Sometimes we do smart things and small corrections that enanche the shows we adapt.
6:42 Same. Though I was age 11 or 12 when I watched it... did not realise a lot of people had a thing for Gwen. Raven, Star fire, Black Fire, Hex girls, kim possible characters, danny fanthom characters; *somewhat expected.*
1. Yo, I binged this series on Max a few months ago, and boy, talk about a nostalgia trip. It was just as good as I remember. 2. That whistling sound is produced by a theremin. A very weird and obscure, but awesome, instrument. I think its most prominent use was for the original _Star Trek_ theme. 3. 5:57 Sunset Shimmer? I see you're a man of culture as well.
Also 8:17 the probe trajectory towards Ben and Ben falling down the crater was caused by time travel shenanigans later down the line (at least around the 4th series) but disregard that
That noise in the theme is a theraphone. If I remember right, it creates sound by vibrating wires, and the user moves their hands, creating different sounds
2:35 That noise is a Theramin, a musical instrument that works by sensing the electromagnetic field generated by your body. Basically, there are two antennas, one does pitch, the other does volume, and you wave your hands around them to make different notes. It's got a very distinctive and otherworldly sound, which made it popular in sci-fi movies during the 50s and 60s. 6:11 Gwen was always my favorite character in the show. I've always enjoyed characters like her and I really like her design.
Loved this show growing up and can't wait to see more episodes covered on your channel. If I were to give suggestions, my personal favorite episodes are the Zombozo debut episode for showing off how much Ben cares for his family, even to go against his fear of clowns, and of course most episodes featuring Kevin given how much I enjoy their dynamics from bitter rivals to friends across the main series.
This Gwen has always been my favorite. Absolutely love her. The other designs just don't capture her cute brattiness plus her bratty intelligence very well.
Ben10 was probably the most unique and also most interesting super hero kids show that I can even think of. I dont know. It did so much that just went right. From interesting side kicks to a good story to supporting characters. Like man. I still even remember the badly made flash games the game had and more. It was a time.
Ok, we got EMH and Ben 10, just got to round this out with Generator Rex and the set is complete! Seriously Shady Gen Rex you got to watch it when you get a chance
I think part of the reason the character designs are so good is the color scheme. The colors used are very complementary, making them memorable. Gwen’s is especially good, with her bright orange hair, green eyes, and blue shirt making her very stand out. Combining these factors with the great animation and art style makes for a winning combination.
This show was amazing, and i agree that Gwen was the best character. I was sad when they changed her voice to Ashley Johnson, i think she's a great person, i just hate her voice acting (at least her earlier stuff).
Meagan Smith was the best voice for Gwen hands down. Even thought Ben was the main lead, most OG Ben 10 fans (myself included) will admit that Gwen was mainly the reason we watched the show, not just cuz of her cute design and sharp-tongued sassy attitude but also cuz she was the best written character in the show no contest. It's too bad that CN didn't think to give her her own spinoff show called "Lucky Girl" or something like that.

I knew i recognized the voice
And the boss/ mammal pod is that STUPID B***H from spongebob
"Colonel, I'm trying to sneak around, but the noise of this green watch keeps alerting Vilgax."
A reason why Max probably did that is because Ben and Gwen were getting REALLY divided. They have their birthday the exact same day, the family used to celebrate toghether but with time Ben and Gwen started to dislike to interact. So Max is trying to make them mend their relationship.

Ben 10's artstyle has held up so well over the years, it might be one of my favorite styles for a 2D animated show.
It's way better looking than the more anime style ones we got for later series which were more generic looking.

That “whistling” is made by an instrument called a theremin. It works by waving one’s hands through a space. That’s… pretty much all I know about the theremin…
It has two antennae on it that generate an electromagnetic field. By moving your hands through the field, you generate a distortion the device detects and converts into sound.
It's not. It's from a synthesizer, but it's emulating a theremin

Max: Well when you get freaky with a shape-shifting slime alien. Trying new foods isn't as weird
Si vemos que a rook le gusta la comida de max
By Omniverse, Ben is also more willing to share that food, since he eats in several restaurants owned by or catered to aliens, he even shares a grasshopper smoothie that aliens (or at least Galvans) enjoy
4:25 One thing I'd like to add is that the kid ben tried to help specifically said, " If ben ever tries to *Play* hero again"
A consistent thing in early ben is his immaturity mixing with his power viewing being a hero more about beating up bad guys and having fun than about helping people
Ben is a classic "too much power not enough disipline" protagonist like sun wukong, goku, and others
The annoying thing with Ben 10 as a franchise is that Ben is stuck in a looping character arc regarding maturity and being responsible. He re-learns lessons all the time, sometimes in the same season.
Tetrax- “Ask yourself this: do you help cause it’s the right thing to do, or for the thrill of being a hero?”
11:52, What Ben just said here made me realized something that, intentional or not, is incredible foreshadowing.

He was right in the things I love about the show were change and it was hard to continue watching. I still like the show, but the changes made it hard to watch. Although that is me. Just keep this quote in mind when watching the show.
I actually thought this was another Kuro video because I’m subscribed to his channel, including this one.😂

Ben 10 took a lot of inspiration from Spiderman and Captain Marvel.
Wasn't that more of his redesign in Omniverse were they gave him the classic Billy Batson 's squinty eyes?

The Ben 10 Generator Rex crossover was easily my favorite crossover episode of any cartoon show ever.
11:40 im gonna guess to get rid of evidence of alien activity so no plumbers can stumble across it.
The show does not show that his form is as dangerous as a 10 year old with a shovel. It shows it is as dangerous as a 10 YEAR OLD GWEN WITH A SHOVEL
Fun fact, Steve Blum is also apparently the voice of Ghost Freak in this show, according to IMDB. Which is interesting

@@wambokodavid7109 I am aware he is Heatblast, he is also vilgax in the original show
my definition of villainous is that the bad guy must be evil, but they need to be selfishly mean in treating people, intelligent enough to come up with good vile plans, good at deception, make people suffer, have the ego to be themselves, super rude and stink for everyone in full personality, such as Megatron, Starscream, Joker, Lex Luthor, Baxter Cartman, and whatever you know.

Like, I wanted to like those shows, because I like the idea of following kid characters as they grow up, not just as they're kids, so seeing Ben as a teenager was an appealing concept to me on paper, I just couldn't get over the art style. 😩
Like, I think what bothers me most, is that the characters feel so much less expressive in those two shows.
You get introduced to the core characters and concepts in the OG series, and it's expanded upon in the two latter series (which I also want to add had the best animation of the franchise.)

2:01 changing the "will" from "can" as it's actually not only make sense but also more horrifying as it would mean even oppisition wouldn't work, instead or merely being buthurt of something he should expect.
I loved this show growing up
13:23 Thats ironically the same sentiment Ben's parents expressed when they learned his secret in Alien Force
Even to this day, I wonder why Ben and Gwen aren't siblings. They act like bickering siblings almost the entire first series. They even have the same birthday, so they're essentially fraternal twins.
7:39 no way Vilgax is captaining a Paris-class frigate against a Klingon bird of prey
I love that the background was changed to green for the occasion. Really like that sort of theming in videos.
Yeah Ben typically does a lot of things with either hand dominance. He's probably ambidextrous, although he generally writes right handedly.
This brings me back
He wasn't just any ordinary kid living his childhood but he also made ours in the way
The not able to fully control form thing is eventually explained. When he slams the selector down, it sometimes rotates the selection. 9/10 times the alien he gets when this happens is the next one in the line up.
10:26
In the Italian dub Ben called her "Rospa", in English Toad, wich is an insult that Ben used both at the start and during the rest of the show.
Sometimes we do smart things and small corrections that enanche the shows we adapt.
I can't unsee the trajectory change of the Omnitrix meteor , and the reason for that to happen way later
Also 8:17 the probe trajectory towards Ben and Ben falling down the crater was caused by time travel shenanigans later down the line (at least around the 4th series) but disregard that
And to think, “It started when an alien device did what it did”
He's Ben 10!
That noise in the theme is a theraphone. If I remember right, it creates sound by vibrating wires, and the user moves their hands, creating different sounds
it's actually a theremin, not a theraphone! it's one of my personal favorite-sounding instruments
@echoesinautumn I can never remember, lol. I just refer to it as the spooky alien instrument
@@hicorse8115 i always make the sound effect with my mouth when people are confused by the name. it usually works!
8:23 I remember that in omniverse it’s shown that a future version of Ben is the reason the omnitrix veered so much in the crash scene
Gwen was also my favorite character in the show. I loved her personality. Future Gwen was the version that I had a crush on.
This was my series, watched every episode, got every toy, loved every single second of it! Favourite Alien was and always will be Upgrade.
This Gwen has always been my favorite. Absolutely love her. The other designs just don't capture her cute brattiness plus her bratty intelligence very well.
I mean yeah she grew up and is naturally more mature than Ben

Ben10 was probably the most unique and also most interesting super hero kids show that I can even think of. I dont know. It did so much that just went right. From interesting side kicks to a good story to supporting characters. Like man. I still even remember the badly made flash games the game had and more. It was a time.
It's cool seeing that someone remembers Malon from time to time.
While I do like Malon, I was moreso trying to reference Cremia. But, you know, same thing right?
@@ShadyDooragsangry majoras mask noises
@@ShadyDoorags I bet there was one scene which made you really like her lol.
Ok, we got EMH and Ben 10, just got to round this out with Generator Rex and the set is complete! Seriously Shady Gen Rex you got to watch it when you get a chance
6:50 Yeah, when this show came out, I was at the age where it was more logical and appropriate to crush on Charmcaster. So I did!
I was 10 when I watched this show and I still had a crush on charmcaster.
I think part of the reason the character designs are so good is the color scheme. The colors used are very complementary, making them memorable. Gwen’s is especially good, with her bright orange hair, green eyes, and blue shirt making her very stand out. Combining these factors with the great animation and art style makes for a winning combination.
8:27 ayo DBZA the goat, i remembered i fliped when i saw you comment on skme videos of the freeza saga
TEAM 3 STAR!
@@blueraccoon1088 AHHHHH, MY NECK!!!!
I think playing DND with you would be one of the best TTRPG experiences in the world.
It's crazy how fast Ben 10 blew up and became one of the world's greatest series
Let's be honest we all knew this was gonna happen; he was heavily foreshadowing this in the last justice league episode.
1:15 the connection to the JLU Patriot Act video was funny.
Edit: 8:17 kinda makes me wonder if the time travel/dimension hopping plot that happens years later was always planned with the way the watch's path just changed directions
Seeing this just brings me down through memory lane. I remember watching this all the time.
Could Transformers Animated be next?
Edit: 64 likes? The most likes I've ever gotten
One of the best Transformers shows. Sad the 4th season was cancelled.
@@leithaziz2716 Very. I thankfully found a free website to watch it. It makes me happy seeing how the characters grew from Ep 1 to the final episode of Season 3. It makes the cancelation feel worse

Yeah man, that came as complete but nice suprise.
9:05 he is also the va of ghost freak
