Drop support? Wear OS has kept the watches updated way back to the old Moto 360 gen 2 & Huawei gen 1 with battery life up to 2 days. Samsung is horrible, my Gear S3 will probably never be updated, and now they are calling the Galaxy watches old.
@@randyb3576 totally agree, I had a galaxy LTE watch for all of 2 weeks. 3rd party apps were very buggy, Bluetooth shocking, overheated and shut down making calls and don't get me started on Bixby. I actually think Google is waiting until it can package more AI into its devices, with this year's pixels getting local voice AI algorithms (compressed from 100Gb to 500Mb) and the purchase of Fitbit, 2020 will see something far far better.
Polla, and Wear needs better battery life. Been reading about a new chip other than the 3000 series that will do just that. The speed is there with no lag with the additional ram and 3100 chip.

I've been very happy using the Huawei Watch GT 2. All the main problems for me when I used to had Wear OS are covered. More than a week of battery life, great connectivity with phone and constantly monitoring sleep, HR, exercises, and even stress. The main con is the limited app selection. Greets

I'm not saying that they're bad but I would love facer on this beautiful body also a calendar app is much needed. Let's see if the mate watch gives us what we want or not
My wife had the worst experience with MK. Screen became unresponsive two months after purchase. She had to send it in for repair. It took 4 MONTHS for it to get there, repaired and sent back. Exposed it to water and the back of the watch came off and it got ruined. After lots of back and forth they offered a replacement. She managed to get her money back from BestBuy instead and got a Galaxy Watch. Also, WearOS is absolute thrash.
I have a Fossil smartwatch (Gen.4). It started having battery problems: the watch did not charge and got extremely hot while trying. I have sent it to Fossil and waited for two months. When it arrived it was exactly like before! After another month waiting they offered to replace mine with a new one of my liking, except for a Gen. 5 one! After four months I am still waiting for a watch to arrive :( Shame on you Fossil!
Still have my Galaxy Gear Frontier after 3yrs. Regular updates and the Tizen OS is amazing. Never had any issues and the watch does everything it's supposed to do. Still wear it today, even after 3yrs
Yeah I have to check those settings sometimes. Every once in a while an app update will change them. Usually I just toggle them off and on again, or reboot my bluetooth radio.
Help me out please. I have a fossil gen 4 q explorist smart watch and it has very serious battery drain and heating issues. When I start using the watch example assistant or some update the watch heats up and loses 10% battery in just 2 -3 minutes. I sent it to the fossil service centre and they just returned it the same way without saying a word. Help!!!!!!!
I'm still using and loving my Sony Smart Watch 3! Battery last 2 - 3 days depending on use and telling the watch to send text message while driving works a treat (keep your eyes on the road kids!)

@Marvin Zimmerman Oh NVM 😂 I have bony wrists too but they're wide. I tried my friend's 40mm one on and it looked like a toy. The 44mm fits me great. I guess that's why they have two sizes, different ones for different people :)
I already bought one (fossil gen 5) when they were on sale for $205. I hope the charging rings don't fall off on this one like it did on the 3rd gen which recently came back from warranty.
I've gone back to having a smartwatch with a Xiaomi Mi Band 4. Hardware is very anemic, but you know what? Its lack of complications makes it wonderful. It's more like a watch that just happens to track my steps, sleep and shows notifications. I thought I would want a watch that does more like NFC payments, WiFi, smart assistants, music playback, GPS... The best two things about it that I love above all else would be the battery life(3 weeks on a single charge), and the price($40!). It's enough, for me, at least.

@@majorskies7091 Right. That's why I made the comment. I assume you didn't get it, so I'll explain it. I really like the looks for the Carlyle, but not the smoked stainless so much. Wanted more of a lustrous polished finished, but I can't see where they sell one. Is the one you show in the video the smoked SS? It doesn't look quite as dull as the Fossil photos look like it is.
Surprisingly the original Moto 360 with Android Wear 1.5 runs a lot smoother than what Wear OS is today. It was better back then in my opinion. Shameless plug but, my Fossil sport will be arriving next week. And I'll be doing a comparison between it and my Moto 360 on my channel.
Had a fossil sport. Have a Galaxy Watch Frontier now. It's paired to my LG V30. I'm pretty satisfied. Traded a rotating crown for a rotating bezel and some better functionality.
I think the falster 3 has 1G of RAM so it should run smoother than the 512G devices. You have to read into the spec sheets though. AFIAK most of the latest devices have 1G ram. There may be some exceptions though.
I think you have it backwards. The hw and ancient processor is what's holding it back. The new watches with at least 1g of ram makes wearos run very smoothy.
@@TheMrMobile Then we disagree. I had a fossil Sport and it was horribly slow. Got the Gen 5 and couldnt be happier. GooglePay hasnt failed me once. Operation is smooth, love the few always on watch face that leverages the 3100 to allow animated second hand in ambient mode with no battery impact. (try that on apple watch or galaxy watch) And of course the google infrastructure. Looking forward to the next gen processor to take it to the next level.
Bought my fossil gen 5 for CAD130(after returning my gen4). So far the experience is great. Pros: 1. Great collection of watchfaces 2. Looks great 3. Lighter than and bit more comfortable than gen 4 4. The performance is great. Cons: Wear OS
Great vid as always! I can testify their support: my misfit vapor stopped booting one day and they sent me a label and in a week they sent me an email saying that they couldn't fix it, but they are giving me £185 (it's RRP at launch) towards any fossil smart watch they make. Wow. Yet to decide on what to get though!
I have both the Galaxy Watch Active 2 and the Fossil Gen5. There are things I like about both but I still feel that the Active 2 is the all round best option for Android users. Sure, non-Samsung phones need additional Samsung apps loaded when you pair the watch but it works near perfect. I am currently wearing both to decide which one I'm going to use day to day...the battery life alone on the Active 2 is a big, big plus. The Gen 5 gets about a day but it has the plus of charging fast.
Thank you for your reviews. Looking for a solid wearable has been difficult and the cost is hard to justify if it's not exactly what you need. I have a fitbit versa and I'm happy with it, but looking for a larger variety of smart features, so I'll be looking to be upgrading in the next year. Your reviews are so great to help me know the differences, pros, cons in betweens.
I just discovered your channel - I like your reviews, as they seem quite credible. Well done! Consider me subscribed. I happen to be currently sporting a Fossil Watch Sport that I somehow snagged for $99 off Amazon about a year ago. It's been a really reliable watch, but the screen's a bit small for my liking. Any leads on promising watches in '21?
Carefully weigh the pros and cons - but if you see the Gen 5 on sale (see link in description - AP is reporting that the sale is *back on*) then snap it up. $169 is a great price.
Mr. Fisher, i too am a smart watch user. I have an Asus Zenwatch 2 WI501Q model, it may be a 3 years old watch & uses Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 chip. Have been using this watch from early 2016 to current. Hasn't disappoint me at all. It has mic & speaker, Wi-Fi connectivity, tough Gorilla Glass 3; so many time my watch on my wrist hit walls, door handles, the glass survives having no scratch on it. It may not have a heart rate sensor (which i don't bother not having), it has an app; ZenWatch Manager, where the watch can be a camera view-finder. arrange my YT music/video playlist on my phone, cast it to my chromecast, used my watch to change the music/video playlist. The chipset maybe old & cannot compete with the current 3100, but as long as this watch still in working order I will still use it. I am in the market of purchasing new smartwatch, i would like to see a re-review from you on Asus smartwatches. I know those watches are no longer in the market, but i would like to see a YT influencer re-review it.
I have the Zen watch 3 I got it December 2017. I recently replaced the battery ($20) inside it took only 5 minutes to replace. I'm ready for a replacement as the software isn't the best. My biggest regret was buying my zenwatch in December and when January 2018 rolled by for CES I could've bought a better watch with NFC. I say wait for January and then make your picks.
Can you review newer Hybrid Smartwatch es? I have used the Fossil Hybrid Grant gen.2 (dark blue dial with gold Roman numerals, brown leather strap) for four years and have not found a better one yet!
my problem with wear os is the lack of updates, its like an android phone but worse. after a year or two, these wont get updates. every apple watch still gets updates but most wearos devices are unsupported. im not paying $200-$400 a year for something that adds so little to what a phone can do.
Nice vlog, info and details. The top of the line smart watches reviewed here are really good, good in the eyes as well. But of course when it comes to the prices, its a different thing. Will be buying three different smart watches under radar when it comes to brand and names. I just hope their reviews I've watch are accurate and real. And no, the price of those three that i will buy are less than the unit price of each of smart watches reviewed here. I'm your new subscriber here...
That's why I bought a Galaxy fit. To try out wearables. And so far I'm liking it; The instant notification display and sleep tracking features are awesome. I think I might get a Galaxy Watch next year.
@@minjaresisaac don't know if you figured it out. But someone in the comments said to go to settings > apps and notifications > set do not disturb when off wrist (toggle this off). It's been working for me more consistently since I've done this. Hope it helps
Unfortunately I already had to go to the store 3 times to replace a MK....yes 3 times because of the watch back pop-out :( every time they say they have replaced the case...and then after a couple of weeks...it unglues. At the store they even told me to use the charger connected to a PC instead of a brick...as the brick could "heat up" more ?!?
Soooo. If these suck, what is the go to? I love my Apple Watch but looking for something more fashionable. I like the MK (weird how you put it’s the cheapest when every other vid says it’s the priciest) I need some help finding a good on with looks of the Armani 3 or the MK Bradshaw/Lexington
I've used Emporio Armani watches for 12 + years. So I wanted to switch over to their smart watches. I got one last year. Design was GORGEOUS. People around work and friends complimented it lal the time. However, the WEAR OS is terrible. It lagged, functions stopped working, etc. Also, mine broke after 2 months (the charging ring popped out like you mentioned). However, they do have great customer service and provided me with a gift card with the original cost of the watch. I will try once again with the new model. I have been faithful to Armani for over a decade so I will give it one more go.
For those products check out these channels: Desfit, Techy Agent, DC Rainmaker, Donavon Hornbeck, Dan's gadgets... these guys do a great job with fitness wear-ables. The T-rex is still too new though. I dont think they have acquired it yet.
Just got a Skagen 5 (Skagen Touchscreen (Model: SKT5207)) and it is pretty disappointing. the vessel seems to be ta children size ( and I do not have massive wrists) the volume dismal, Is this the NORMAL sized vessel? I have no clue where the GPS is (impossible to find in that microscopic print, and the web site has nothing. Did I get stuck with a Child's or female watch that IS broken ? Because the watch arrived without the cardboard box or a seal.
I bought the 3rd Gen Q Explorist because the looks were absolutely beautiful, but after a week, I was so annoyed because the middle crown was soooo sensitive. I end up finding a work around but it did not always work so I still end up triggering some on the watch, plus it was slow. So I sold it. I did not have the same experience with the moto 360 that was a wonderful device outside of the crack backcase issue.
Software is where apple watch shines even though i would like a round faced apple watch... I have the 3rd gen apple watch is still working fine and still receives updates.
Irfan Shaikh I actually just bought the series 3 over the series 5 like a week ago and I don’t regret it. Was worried I was buying 2 year old tech but it’s still an awesome watch.
After seeing this + having a Moto 360 Gen2 prior...... I might as well return my Fossil Gen 5 I just ordered yesterday. I had hope that Wear OS gotten a teeny weeny better....

That's exactly what happens
@@AwkwardYet Ayyy, Thanks to our pixel beta testers... Customers.
You can't sell ads on a watch. DOA
Very very very very bad 😬
Surprisingly the original Moto 360 with Android Wear 1.5 runs a lot smoother than what Wear OS is today. It was better back then in my opinion.
Shameless plug but, my Fossil sport will be arriving next week. And I'll be doing a comparison between it and my Moto 360 on my channel.
Had a fossil sport. Have a Galaxy Watch Frontier now. It's paired to my LG V30.
I'm pretty satisfied. Traded a rotating crown for a rotating bezel and some better functionality.
Best video and best channel What else could you ask for.TeamMrMobile You have inspired me and gave me so much information. THANK YOU
Do a review of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 please 🙏❗
That Frakes quote was awesome! 😄
How much for that scratched? Lol!
Good review man, liked as always
Man i am so ready for that Moto 360 watch. That review can't come fast enough
Is this still so with the release of the Skagen 3
I think the falster 3 has 1G of RAM so it should run smoother than the 512G devices. You have to read into the spec sheets though. AFIAK most of the latest devices have 1G ram. There may be some exceptions though.
Is the hybrid still a good choice
I think you have it backwards. The hw and ancient processor is what's holding it back. The new watches with at least 1g of ram makes wearos run very smoothy.
Nope, I've got it right. All of these have a gig of RAM.
I think it would be pretty cool if you make a video like "Do you need a smartwatch?" or "Which smartwatch is for you?"
You didn't include the Misfit Vapor X
Thats a nice watch, Misfit always seems to fly under the radar. Not sure why.
Bought my fossil gen 5 for CAD130(after returning my gen4). So far the experience is great.
Pros: 1. Great collection of watchfaces
2. Looks great
3. Lighter than and bit more comfortable than gen 4
4. The performance is great.
Cons: Wear OS
where on gods green earth did you find a gen 5 for $130??
@@slayyou Like I mentioned above, I exchanged my gen4 for gen 5 and I have to pay the difference.
@@holycrapimbatman1760 you weren't very clear... But that makes more sense.
@@slayyou 😅😅 sorry, my bad.
Great work. Thank you
Google should allow smartphone makers to use their own UI on top of wearOS. That would make them compelling and competitive.
Samsung tizen os or google wear os?? Which is best
Please review the HONOR MsgicWatch 2
Hey I watch all of your videos and thank you for doing all of these reviews
Thanks for watching!
Love your honest reviews, I think based on your other video i'll go for the fitbit versa because of price.
I know I’m going to get flack for this but the things you brought up are the reason I have the Apple Watch
I'd absolutely get an Apple Watch if it would work with Android at least nearly 100%.
Gabriel Ignacio it works for notifications if I’m not wrong but I’m also talking about series 1 so I don’t really know at this point
how about a comparison with WearOS and Tizen OS.
Any chance you can do a review of a Samsung watch Active 2?
Thanks for a great review.
I so wanted a fossil Gen 5 ti replace my Garmin. Now you have me thinking twice
Carefully weigh the pros and cons - but if you see the Gen 5 on sale (see link in description - AP is reporting that the sale is *back on*) then snap it up. $169 is a great price.
@@TheMrMobile sadly Fossil seem to refuse to put thw Gen 5 on Sale in Australia or let us import it form other countries. But I'm still watching
MrMoblie can you do a comparison of all the OS wearables out there?

What is that fast revolving watch face on armani watch
Your videos are the highlight of the day! Thanks a lot for doing these honest reviews Michael.
So, if I'm on a fence between fossil gen5 and Galaxy active 2 ?
Active 2
But fossil is better looking
@@noorafshan800 indeed it is ...
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 review please!
That's why I bought a Galaxy fit. To try out wearables. And so far I'm liking it; The instant notification display and sleep tracking features are awesome. I think I might get a Galaxy Watch next year.
The 'r' in 'fossil' stands for reliability...
Lol
this reviews making me laugh 😂 my fave: “well, don’t..!” Lol 🤣 subscribed!
try out the Xiaomi Mi Watch
I would like to do more reviews on smartwatches :)
I thought my watch was just bugging but I guess others are having problems with the notifications not appearing as well
@Marvin Zimmerman I have the Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle. The black watch with the brown leather strap.
@Marvin Zimmerman I still like it but the only problem is the notifications. Hopefully they release an update soon that addresses that.
@@minjaresisaac don't know if you figured it out. But someone in the comments said to go to settings > apps and notifications > set do not disturb when off wrist (toggle this off). It's been working for me more consistently since I've done this. Hope it helps
I really need your opinion on huawei watch gt 2
Unfortunately I already had to go to the store 3 times to replace a MK....yes 3 times because of the watch back pop-out :( every time they say they have replaced the case...and then after a couple of weeks...it unglues. At the store they even told me to use the charger connected to a PC instead of a brick...as the brick could "heat up" more ?!?
Using a Fossil Sport as we speak and I can say it's a pleasure to use.
Soooo. If these suck, what is the go to? I love my Apple Watch but looking for something more fashionable. I like the MK (weird how you put it’s the cheapest when every other vid says it’s the priciest) I need some help finding a good on with looks of the Armani 3 or the MK Bradshaw/Lexington
From a watch-collector perspective. Don't pick the MK or Armani, the brand itself is not in good soil amongs "watch-collectors"
Love my Fossil Gen 5!
Hi Michael, can you also review the fitness band from huami ? Like amazfit GTR, GTS and Trex ?
I wonder you haven't reviewed the Samsung Galaxy Active 2.
