I was worried this wouldn't pivot to tourism. Imagine a Civ 6 game that doesn't pivot to tourism, but there Potato goes, buying great works of writing.
It's an easy Diplo Victory, but I know some people don't consider that to be a "real" victory. To me it isn't worth the extra 50-100 turns it takes for a Culture Victory.
@@jyutzler I think the reason many people hate Diplomatic victories is because if you pursue that as a main victory condition, then it's just a whole lot of waiting around for congress meetings, and a knowledge check of what the AI prefers. Personally I like to think of it as a secondary win condition. I'll play as normal and if I see I can't win that way because an AI on another continent snowballed too far ahead, or I just so happened to get a lot of wins for the policies I didn't specifically push and am close to winning anyway, THEN I'll pivot into the Diplo Victory.
Potato constantly at war still having lavish balls in the capitol. But its the only place where Linette, another of his Ladies-in-waiting, can give the scoop that Japan is starting to clear the area for Broadway. 38:10
I'm with you on the little islands. I mean, that's basically Hawaii'i, Guam, etc. and they played an important role later on. I wonder if that's going to be in the Exploration Age for Civ VII?
To get ai to join you in war, it depends on military comparison between them. As gaul have a bigger army, Peter needs more incentives. But sometimes they will outright reject the deal no matter the number, you can notice this by the red exclamation mark at the deal item.
I would have given up long ago being this far behind. Late giv civilization on the switch just sucks and is made even worse if you think you are going to lose. Good for you potato for toughing it out
I always wonder why Potato doesn't buy buildings with such a strong economy 😅 would have saved quite a lot of turns and allowed to start unit costruction earlier But hey, he's the best civ player in the world 😎
Google has an AI that determines whether you used a word that makes the video too offensive for advertisers, so potato either censored himself before uploading, or received an email giving him a list of timestamps that he needs to clean, and then scrambled the audio in those sections (that is a thing uploaders are allowed to do now).
after playing quite a bit of civ 5 and watching this, I dont understand why they tuned the war AI to childish levels of difficulty. In civ 5, they bring everything they have and they do it super quick. In civ 6, they attack like its a RTS and send small attack groups that are easy to defeat. Its like they dont even try to win the war and only attack the player to annoy them. It feels like firaxis thinks its players are idiots or something.

Kinda same for me. Except that my PCs are offline and my gaming PC has become unusable since it's now over 11 years old. I have older games on my older gaming PC which I abandoned because I thought it was dying, but apparently it didn't die and it's running the older games I have on it pretty well still (but no Civ 6) ....
I have two questions: one, why not build a dam on that river, is the potential for fertilization worth skipping it? And two, I thought that the area amenities given by entertainment complexes couldn't stack with the area amenities given by water parks, have I misunderstood something this whole time?
He had shown briefly the list at the start of the first France video (2 videos ago). Just pause when he shows it. You can use comma “,” and dot “.” hotkeys to navigate every frame. There are not much really.
they should make a civ that's more realistic, especially when it comes to the importance of rivers, how people spread around, plagues, and how you can acquire tech just by looking at it a lot of the time.edit : weird coincidence you mention belle delphine just as i'm taking a sip of bath water haha
nevermind: somehow the game doesn't start if i select "cold" as world temperature, notifying me to turn off my mods. started with "normal" temperature, and everything is fine.

You buy them for culture not the tourism

“2 envoys in the bank, 1 in the stank” really got me 😂😂😂
11:15 that actually gives me a fun challenge run idea; “Civ 6 but I skip every other turn”

Guy with a channel named "Potato McWhiskey" talking about how people wouldn't hate a game with stereotypes.
3:52 takes me back to older WoW days. The guild I was in, Order of the Murloc, had a saying. "There's no cc like dead."

Potato describes stereotype Civilization like Canada doesn't exist in Civ 6 lol

OMG! You are uploading civ 6 again. God Bless
If Morbis doesn't have the Churn Counter going, did Potato really say 'churn'?
it's almost time for a diplomatic victory video series.
The only way a stereotype civ game works is if every civ is equally made fun of lol
I would love to play Irish McPuberson
I'm with you on the little islands. I mean, that's basically Hawaii'i, Guam, etc. and they played an important role later on.
I wonder if that's going to be in the Exploration Age for Civ VII?
In Civ 7 there is a chance of some small islands being generated between you and the new world based on the map type that you selected.
if you want things like this in Civ VI, play Continents & Islands map type. It's my go to

Hi potatomcwhisky please keep the videos of civ 6 coming.
Ah yes the famous tank armies of the 1670's. They really never did fix their timeline math with this one.
"this one"?
Tech timeline immersion has been a problem for every single Civ version, not just Civ 6 (besides mods, I mean)
Keep fighting the good fight spuddy
Build an empire with your settled cities all in a straight line either vertical or horizontal

The French city of Nonce, wherein all of the children are in danger.
I look forward to when this push makes Canada, French again. As they seem to be the biggest threat and closest to victory.
