uhuh....I said highpassing a kick is a bad idea in my other video so I won't be giving a tutorial on how to highpass a kick. Sorry to disappoint :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
seriously, all the other sidechain tutorials on youtube are so over complicated, but you managed to simply explain it in less than 30 seconds. round of applause for this man, ladies and gents.
Thank you so much. I have watched other videos multiple times & the couldn’t help & I just remembered u and knew u wouldn’t let me down. I look up to more more than all these other you tubers.
Recently I've been preferring frequency ducking, so it doesn't quiet the entire sub when the kick hits, just the frequencies the two instruments have in common. Keeps the sub sounding nice and full yet the kick punches through.
Top bro, I wonder where I could have been without your Chanel, Even though at my starting point being this broke I learn stuff from you at a free cost. Stuff that one need to be charged for 🙏 thanks much God bless you with your good teachings helping the community ♥️
I have a question regarding sidechaining: after sidechaining & setting your threshold, ratio, release etc, do you then make up the gain of the instrument/s you're sidechaining?
now im on 2 weeks of holiday... enough time to watch all of your 202 videos and learn this fckn programm... can´t do this 6 to 19 Job anymore... i wan´t produce music like my favorite artist Fabio Fusco... he uses Cubase but there must be a way to reach the same quality of progressive trance in FL !!!! Time to change my life now...... thank you for your videos !!!
I am a great fan of your channel... I used to follow your tutorials and it's really helpful... I would like to request you something that how to do sidechain like "ILLENIUM". I don't think that it's as the normal one because beats sucks in the synth in large amount please please can you do a tutorial on that???
Im about to watch your videos from old to new, I've only watched one video and managed to make a beat I like with 0 experience :) excited to see what happens.
hello , thanks for the video , does anyone have the same problem like me when i use side chain the kick seems to change a liltte bit his place in the beat and seems like falls
Make sure you hit "sidechain to this track" and NOT "sidechain to this track only". Open up limiter and make sure on the bottom you click "comp". Adjust your threshold, release and ratio.
hey nice video mate! i dont undestand, why the label when ask the wave file for mastering dont want the sidechain in the master channel,? and to me asked at -6db , the file wave, , hope you can give me a explanation, of these questions, ( sry for my english) thanks in advance ! :)
It sounds like they don't want the side chain to be so strong ( I can only guess) and they want the whole mix to peak at around -6 dB so that they can "Master" the song for you. You will need to give them that headroom so they can process your track professionally :) Hopefully that helps you
thanks for the reply, ! yes i understand now more, i have some track on beatport and itunes, but , and not all labels ask the -6 DB , and like you say with -6db is more professional , i have izotope ozone 7 now recently, and i am watching on youtube how to use it good, and what u use for do the master of a song? , maybe you have a video with how to do mastering with software or with FL Studio plugins? Hope i dont writed to much lol :)
When I sidechained my kick to the bass, I lost all audio output from my kick. Looking at your video again and again, I don't see what I differently. I had to run my kick back into my drum buss, losing the sidechain.
Yeah man you keep it simple and you really know what you're talking about unlike some other "experts" out there on yt who recommend values (for threshold or else) when doing their "sidechain tutorials". And you simply explain what value to change when kick gets distorted and that different genres should use different values. You've earned a sub from Poland :)
For a while I was working with a bad kick sound, so to get it to stand out I had to start side chaining it with most of a song. That caused a lot of problems with how other instruments were sounding, and since it was dynamic it was at random times. Luckily with a transient shaper I got the click of the kick sounding better, since I am using an acoustic style one, and was able to avoid side chaining.
Click the arrow at the top of the mixer window, select go View > Waveforms if you want the waveforms, and View > Colorful Mixer if you want colors. Set your mixer window to Extra Large.
I have a question: you know how you send the kick to the sub bass then put the limiter on the sub bass mixer to get the side chain going. If I add other effects to the sub bass since my kick is routed to the sub bass will those other effects affect my kick?
Hi! I was thinking about one little detail here: When you open the limiter, before you go into the compressor setting, wouldn't it be a good idea to increase the ceiling level to 100 % and set the attack to 0 so that the limiter itself wont affect the sound? Thanks for awesome videos! Best regard Anders
Hey I have a question, this might be interesting, which is better, compression sidechain or an EQ sidechain on the bass using peak controller? I’m talking about how this two different methods affect the sound when the kick hits, since the EQ doesn’t affect so much in mid-treble frequency, which I may think it’s cleaner and don’t pump sound so much, if you could answer this question, it might be a good idea for your new video... thank you
Can I use this method with a submix for multiple bass channels? I would put the limiter on the bass submix and sidechain it to the kick. Thanks for the video!
how did you you get such a great quality of your song spark ...? I try my best everyday but I never get the quality like yours.....tell me how do you do your sound settings and export your songs...???
I want a tutorial on how to high pass a kick.
uhuh....I said highpassing a kick is a bad idea in my other video so I won't be giving a tutorial on how to highpass a kick. Sorry to disappoint :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Bro, you know when you left click on the sidechain, my kick doesn't come up..
You need to click on kick or 808, then click the arrow on anbother track at the bottom, and click sidechain. i think, im not a pro.
It makes everything sound so much better! 😭
Good tutorial !
The snare needed to be a little more punchy 😂😂. I loved the tutorial. Very straightforward, and definitely going to add to watch later

very very big thanks bro. your videos is so much suitable for me and for FL studio users.
Hybrid Life Tutorials Is it so that limiter gives us more options for side chaining as compared to peak controller ?
Hi Mike.
Can u make a video telling the difference between route to this track and sidechain to this track
Thanks bro, you are a life saver, *I am not talking about this video only....THANKS A LOT Happy New Year

This is such a good channel. I susbcribed! :)
Amazing Thnx, had to come back to this, got stuck for a week before reviewing the tutorial;
What's the difference in this method and using a volume automation to achieve a similar product? Is a limiter more circumstantial, etc.
it is basically the same thing.

Thanks for the video dude, massive help and really easy when you know how :)
How did you get your flstudio look the way it looks? I WANT IT! So colorful, it looks kinda nice! :P :D
right mouse and rename/colour
I coloured it but it still looks something diff maybe because he has latest version...??
you need at least fl 12.3, the colours aren't there in fl 12.2 and lower
Janne Rajaranta probably because there's a plus (+) sign when changing the color of something. there you can create custom saturated colors. :)
Click the arrow at the top of the mixer window, select go View > Waveforms if you want the waveforms, and View > Colorful Mixer if you want colors. Set your mixer window to Extra Large.
Thank you for that information very useful for me in drops thanks
I have a question: you know how you send the kick to the sub bass then put the limiter on the sub bass mixer to get the side chain going. If I add other effects to the sub bass since my kick is routed to the sub bass will those other effects affect my kick?
What's the pro's and con's for sidechaining using Fruity limiter and Peak controller?
You are the best for real
Brilliant tutorial thanks!
Thanks! This really helped :)
Thanks my day 1 teacher 🙏
I always understand you brother
thanks for that 🎶🎶🎧🤺

This helped so much, thank you!
Can I use this method with a submix for multiple bass channels? I would put the limiter on the bass submix and sidechain it to the kick. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the tutorial!
Wow ! that was helpful. Thank you :)
