Artificial Life. Extinct simulations
Вставка

- This video is the continuation of my previos "The battle of clans" video.
This time I'll show you an artificial life simulations went extinct. My goal is to create a simulation, where it is impossible for lifeforms to achieve stability. The more (more or less) successful simulations will be the subject of the next video.
The main drive of evolution here is natural selection. At birth of each new cell there is a 1% chance of a random change in genome.

This channel is so tragically underrated.
In addition to the cool simulations and narratives, I am impressed with the tools that are used to always display the relevant parts of the simulation.
You make me want to emulate your projects.
i definitely agree. i think this channel deserves much mroe than only 17k subs. maybe even 1mil
WELL, WHERE'S THE DOWNLOAD LINK FOR THE VIDEO?
Finally awoken after hibernation! This is definitely my favourite small channel on youtube, and I look forward to seeing it grow.
Edit: And everyone agrees!
It's actually just the English translation of a Russian channel a believe
… organically!
@@dylanherrera5395 please send channel name for proof or something
@@dylanherrera5395 This channel is also mine, only for an English-speaking audience.
Bears have access to UA-cam now?! And I thought the chimpanzees were the real threat...
UA-camr Checklist:
1. Uploads On A good Time for the quality
2. Puts out good content
3. Knows its comunites wants and needs
And you hit them all! I cant wait for when this pays off for you and i look forward to seeing your chanel grow
Omg finally a simulation where both the agents and the environment change. So many creators keep their agents inside a static environment then wonder why nothing interesting happens or get diminishing returns on complexity. This is so fascinating and refreshing.
...to be fair, no organism has ever managed to make life itself go extinct... yet.
(No! Bad Speedrunners! That is not supposed to be a challenge!)
We should be fine, because the bigger a super organism grows, the less effective natural selection becomes at clearing defective mutations, hastening the decay of the whole organism.
photosynthesizing bacterium causing the oxygen holocaust, causing snowball Earth, and killing everything exept some small pockets of fortunate bacteria hiding around hydrothermal vents:
The best way to explain why we need fungi and what's wrong with no man's land to my kid.
Brilliant as always!
Finally, after 2 months he's back
By the way, do you know the Bibites simulation? It's a neural network driven animal simulation with digestion, energy aging and stuff... But the food a.k.a plant pellets jut appears. Maybe you can start a beautiful friendship with the guy who created the bibites and bring plant evolution and bio-induced environment changes to this simulation.
The most underrated channel to ever exist
Great video! would be interesting to see what happens if you do cross breeding (e.g. tournament selection based on who survives the simulation the longest / most population)
Thank god youre back. I haven't seen any simulated evo video for quite a long time
I'm so glad this channel exists. One of the few hidden gems of UA-cam
Finally! A continuation on my favorite video!
Yesss! Favorite life simulation that i have found on UA-cam. Thanks for making another❤
There's one thing I didn't understand from the video. What are the mechanisms for removing toxicity? All of those white barriers seem to say forever and never got removed.
you need cells that eat energie or organique mater depending on wich is to much for the soil to handle and they need to stay alive a long time to eat all of the material/energie
Those patterns once the worlds die are beautiful! They could easily end up on my wall
Каждый из нас будет такой частичкой узора
My curiosity is constantly growing thanks to you
YAY THE PLANTS ARE BACK (btw i love your channel)
Nice editing
Great video.
Nice Halloween video 🎃
idea: you should add a part that can detect other species and can signal to sprouts, this can make the sprouts grow differently or as seen in the video, attack other species
TTS is getting better.
Very interesting mechanics! I was wondering how demanding is this simulation in terms of computational power? Thanks!
Seems like all these simulations are destined for extinction/no-life because of a build up of toxic zones, or is there a way they could go on indefinitely?
Bro cool project, do you have any open source stuff like this I can contribute to?? Or would you consider starting one?
if there were bioms and ofcourse their effects to the livings, hegemony would be much more hard, and thus, extinction would be harder. at least, I imagine so.
Change and evolution happen too quickly in the simulation. The size of the world in the simulation is very small. All this dramatically increases the chances of life extinction. Maybe I'll go over this topic in the next video.
@@wallcraft-video I can't wait :)...
I am curious about the world's size? Like in terms of N * M. Are they 1080 * 1920 as your video resolution? And I would love to learn how many days or cycles have passed in the simulation.
the speed at which the cracks and fissures spread across the world is very fast!
You should give the lil clans names as you go along to help us follow the thread of your explanations :)
Whats the difference between soil energy and soil organic matter? To me it seems red and blue do the same thing
I want more
The sizzling bacon sounds made me hungry.
What language are your simulations written in?
Processing
Interesting, wasn't expecting that.@@wallcraft-video
I want to make such simulations, but idk what rules to make
Ah yeah
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees
Gematria444:360=1.23*MONAD
dude this video was awesome! Can i please ask you a few questions?
1. what language do you code in?
2. what degree do i need to study these kinds of things? And can i pay my rent by doing these life simulations?
I'm pretty sure this account only translates and reposts videos from non-English channels, without credit. great videos but not by this channel's owner.
@@thattfoxIt's the same owner, he translated his videos into English
17:15 so you created digital cancer?
I first found this channel when the 3rd tree evolution video was posted but I couldn’t stand the ai voice so I never subscribed. 1 year later this shows up in my recommended, and the ai voice barely bothers me at all. The way short-form content has changed me 😢
bring back the old voice
Genetics determines behavior, the simulation.
If only more people realize this applies to all life, and therefore all of us as well.
