My dad used to talk about this game all the time when I was a literal toddler and I basically grew up knowing about the game and actually played one of these at VERY YOUNG but never learned the lore.
Really impressive. I’m usually not a big fan of people doing comedic asides in their explanations, but yours were actually mostly funny and fit pretty well with the rest of your tone. I also liked both your thoroughness and trying to help keep track of what is and isn’t canon. I mean, I’ve played most of the games and still have no clue what was going on, so this was great. I am bummed that when you pointed out that Balrog is a Mike Tyson ripoff, you didn’t also mention that in Japan his name is actually M Bison, but that probably would have added yet another layer of confusion to an already confusing mess. I tried checking out the rest of your channel, but I don’t read a ton of manga, so there’s probably not much for me. But I’ll definitely subscribe in case you do any more videos like this. It was pretty fire.
Binged it while it was live and my god what an amazing video easily worth the wait learned lots facts about characters and thr story I honestly didn't know. Now obviously not every single fact about the story and characters were included like Vega's backstory or Dan might've beat Chun li in a fight but that doesn't harm the quality of the video overall and it wasn't even that important to the story in the first place. As for the ending theory I'm honestly thinking JP is bison's or another experiment that's funding the neo shadoloo, since all the members are bison clones and other experiments, I think he's gonna possess all of them at once and use the collective psycho power to rule/destroy the world and assuming this is the case Bison's plans are already looking like it's in full swing since his psycho power is looking way more powerful with brand new abilities but yeah I would prefer the illuminati became the next major antagonist like in 3rd strike. Once again fire video and easily one of if not the best Honest gaming histories you've done and I hope it gets the attention it deserves.
Lee from Street fighter 1 actually comes up a bit as a background character. He's the uncle to Yun and Yang and is the one who taught them martial arts, and its implied he was a friend of Chun-Li's father. On top of that he may be Jamie's father, this is very tenuous, but an early leak and listed the new characters and called Jamie, Yun and Yang's cousin, then 6 months later the trailer dropped revealing Jamie and Chun-li and there was a character artwork leak confirming the new comer leak so its valid info, but at the same time the official profile on Jamie just says he was inspired by Yun and Yang so the relation ship may be a familiar one or the leaker could of misconstrued some information or the characters background could of changed between the leak and the reveal.

When Zeku transforms, he's basically a dead-ringer for Strider Hiryu, so your Strider connection isn't too far off. Also, if you listen carefully when transformed Zeku performs his specials, they have the same sfx whenever Strider slashes with his weapon. ... so there's that.

Maybe they will bring back Asura from Asura’s Wrath as a cameo or as DLC. Since at the ending/epilogue of that game, Asura was reawakening his Wrath power just as a meteor was falling towards the city he lives in.

This deserves more views and likes, solid job man. I been a casual SF player since the SFII craze began in the 90s and always thought the story was just a mish mash of weird bullshit but it was cool to see the narrative woven together, as best it can be.
Seth's name is also an ancient Egypt mythological reference. The god of Darkness and brother of Osiris, the one who kills him to become the king of Egypt. Kinda like Cain, so there's that.

Fun fact: the name M. bison (Mike Bison) was originally supposed to be the name of Balrog, the character who wears boxing gloves and looks like Mike Tyson. Potential Lawsuit concerns from Mike Tyson, forced capcom to swap the character names and shorten Mike Bison to Mike Tyson.
