I just realized that as time went on, Nero’s arm got more and more blue until it looked like it did in dmc5 before it got ripped off. It was fully red with the blue glowy bits, then the top part of it started to turn blue, then we have the dmc5 version
I'd always interpreted it as Nero growing and changing into a more mature state, physically and mentally. Cause we see the brothers' DT change when young based on the Devil arm being used. But by 4 and 5, it's mostly set in place as one design for Dante. So for Nero, 5 is basically the most matured iteration of the Devil Bringer, seeing how it's still his arm and he can manifest it at will to complement the new Breakers.
For anyone wondering, there is a reason why Dante is so brooding in DMC 2. First, in the anime, you can see that Dante is more depressed than he was in 3 and 1, because he already experienced loss after loss before both games, watched his brother descend into the underworld, “killed” his brother in 1, Lady parted ways with him, and only occasionally works with him, and in the Drama CD, Trish left his side. You can even see it in the ending of the anime as Dante drinks Jack Daniel’s, he’s incredibly alone, depressingly even. It gets even worse when at the end of the anime, Patty leaves her part time home at Devil May Cry to live with her mother, which really saddens Dante. So by DMC 2, he lost his parents, foster mother and merc friend, killed his brother, Patty was not around much, and Lady and Trish screwed off some time ago. There was literally nothing for Dante to be happy about. He was more excited to go to hell than in the human world. It wasn’t until DMC 4 when he sees Nero, a person just like him where he started to be happy again.
Not gonna lie DMC Dante was way more Savage and it was hilarious and shocking and exciting to find out what will he say to the next demon he will face.
Yeah this was what got me intrested into dmcs writing, i liked the games had friends who played them played 5, but the V lore on physically killing a manifestation of ur own self degredation and turning a new is so in the face yet hidden in
I’m packing all my stuff for my leave to the military it feels so surreal but watching this video is like looking at my sensei looking at my childhood as things get wrapped up for the new chapter to start
This was dope. Thanks for putting this together. I haven't played DMC since the second game. Like, almost a couple decades at this point. But I always liked the lore, and... that shit got crazy. Dope that none of the characters I cared about actually died. It seems like a couple of them ALWAYS die. But yeah, this compilation video was cool, I like binge videos and this came at the perfect time. Kudos!
A Devil May Cry marathon/full timeline from the past HGH videos by The Black Mastadonte. Nice. Dante is among the red coat wear club (i.e, Vash the Stampede, Travis from No More Heroes, Alucard from Hellsing, Scarlet Witch, etc). ^^
DmC: Devil May Cry was my introduction to the series. It was recently i learned it wasn’t canon. Very unfortunate as i fell in love with the aesthetic and character of Dante in that game. It was just a little more serious take. Now playing Devil May Cry 5 and thoroughly enjoying it.
Just wanted to show you some love, bro. Amazing content across the board. But the fact that you respond to as many comments as you do, with a quarter-mil subs, is badass. You have my respect, as well as a Subscriber!
Well this was a great time sink. I was very happy to go back to the lore of the series and you may have a point with V. I mean the fact that he has Vergil's humanity and that he was a nice dude, it could mean that Vergil may have some shred of kindness deep inside. That said thank GOD we never got a sequel to the reboot because being reminded of that 'dialogue' easily made my brain die and the sequel would be even worse. Overall, this was a great compilation of the videos you have done and a soild job Donte!
Damn you UA-cam! You stop notifying me and when you finally do, it's a day late!! Anyway glad to see another video of yours man. I'm definitely gonna go back and see what I missed
After I saw the GOW video I knew you were underrated af and so I dropped a like. Now I'm fuckin subscribing can't believe I just found out about this underrated legend. Even tho I like DMC more and have known it longer I believe the GOW timeline video was better. Since it was much more detailed and also talked about the creation of the GOW universe and all the comics.
DmC:Devil May Cry was my first exposure to the series, and I quite liked it. I feel the hate towards it is just cause it pokes fun of the original series but by itself it's a pretty good game and the definitive edition just makes it better
Amazing Video!! Just keep learning more and more while getting into Devil May Cry. Here is a long tangent sorry. Few things that I think are CRAZY (but so interesting story wise) to me is that Agnus is Nicos Father. And Nico and Nell Goldstein aren't blood related but she follows in her footsteps and really loves and looks up to her. Also Nell Goldsteins final Warks of Art Ebony & Ivory were the same Guns that killed Agnus, Nicos Father. It's the really cool and interesting story tie-ins that have me just wanting to know more about DMC!
Im just gonna throw this out there. Saw someone say this and now its my official headcanon. Dante being broody in 2 is because hes depressed over the events of 1 with Vergil being a husk that he was forced to kill. Idk for some reason I really really love that theory
story of Devil May Cry 2 is after Devil May Cry 3,and 1 i think that dante is sad because falling Vergil to the Underworld (also Dante's Cry in end of devil may cry 3)
There is a manga they release that shows what Vergil went through after he lost his fight with Mundas as V from DMC 5 has nightmares about what happened. Long story short: Vergil lost to Mundas as his Yamato sword broke (hence why it was broken in DMC 4). Mundas was torturing him and decided to make him his pawn and use him to kill his brother and removed his memories making him a mindless slave (Nelo Angelo). In DMC 5 the demon that V uses to fight are Vergil’s nightmares and power as Nelo Angelo. They fought Dante knowing they would loss to protect Vergil.
This is the video that was got me to SUBSCRIBE to TheBlackMastadonte! I love this video! It always makes me laugh! "Bacon, eggs, and Hands Sandwich!" LOL
@TheBlackMastadonte Keep up the good work. You make me want to make a channel, too. I'm into the same stuff as you. I just don't know how to do it or what exactly I would make it about. But I do know this, I definitely would want to collaborate.
this game was so good and i know some of you are gonna be surprised but dmc reboot was actually my first dmc game and you know what am happy it was my first because it introduced me to the whole series

DMC the reimagining is very underrated I love this game it’s my favorite one in the series in terms of storyline and gameplay next to the very first devil may cry
Great video man keep it up I will say this the only reason that doesn't make any sense about it though is the DMC reboot timeline because the comic book timeline of Virgil and Dante has childhood makes more sense to put his the actual backstory of things that went on throughout their years growing up versus the timeline of the DMC reboot as them as kids because it doesn't correctly match up I understand it takes references from the comic book but that's about it
I've been playing since day 1 on the good Ole PS1. Love this series. Idk why ppl hate on DMC. It was such a fantastic game. Super smooth game play, lit soundtrack, and excellent art direction. Not to mention that the DMC story was/is super relevant. Food that is slowly killing us marketed as healthy, bankers owning governments through debt, and media designed to poison the mind and soul. Epic game.
"It was never officially stated that Vergil lost the fight." Yes. It was. The reason Yamato was split in 2 was because Mundus kicked his ass, and broke Yamato to spit on Sparda's legacy.
By no means was DMC: Devil May Cry a good game, but it wasn't a bad game either.... it was just certainly a game that existed that didn't live up to what the fans wanted .... however I still do want a DMC2, because I enjoyed the story of it, and want to see the end
Not gonna lie, I enjoyed DMC. But in no way should had been named or connected to Devil May Cry. Definitely would have been better received if it was its own thing. May have even gotten a sequel.

Oh shit yeah
Huh , I guess it was like a fresh wound still raw with the blue being the top layer growing back at the tips
that' what time does...you change...what's new?
I'd always interpreted it as Nero growing and changing into a more mature state, physically and mentally. Cause we see the brothers' DT change when young based on the Devil arm being used. But by 4 and 5, it's mostly set in place as one design for Dante.

Like the off the wall pfp
The way Dante and Kat look at Virgil after he said that. Man...I felt that
i chuckled when nero said "is this kingdom hearts" because the whole vergil-v-urizen thing is basically xehanort-ansem-xemnas
For anyone wondering, there is a reason why Dante is so brooding in DMC 2. Virgil is literally the coolest character ever
Woord
You got that right.
Not gonna lie DMC Dante was way more Savage and it was hilarious and shocking and exciting to find out what will he say to the next demon he will face.
True
The “fuck you…fuck you…FUCK YOUUUUU” line was ahead of its time.
Dante is just the most badass character
You already know
.....
Dante and the others "how many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man!?" the old man from devil May cry 4 "I love the young people!"
Fun fact: There was a fourth familiar that was created when Vergil split himself in two, but it tried to kill V, so V had to kill him.
Yeah this was what got me intrested into dmcs writing, i liked the games had friends who played them played 5, but the V lore on physically killing a manifestation of ur own self degredation and turning a new is so in the face yet hidden in
I played all the games multiple times and imma still watch this whole thing
lemme grab my popcorn
Hope you enjoy it
I’m packing all my stuff for my leave to the military it feels so surreal but watching this video is like looking at my sensei looking at my childhood as things get wrapped up for the new chapter to start
I would really love a Soul Caliber lore video. I know it wouldn't be long, but it's one of my favorites
That's definitely something I want to work on in the future
This was dope. Thanks for putting this together.

@@KuroOfReticence Yes. Him, too.
Thanks!
As much as DmC pales in comparisson to the original story... I want that sequal.
I miss these and I love you for getting my fix
I feel you. I'm so excited to show you guys the new GOW one
DmC will forever be underrated and overhated
thanks for the birthday video keep up the awesome work bro
Happy birthday!!

Hell yes! Sensei Donte uploaded a new Honest Gaming History!
Let's go!
It's been a while since I saw one of these. I'm hyped that you're doing this.
Dope video! I completely forgot the dmc story so this helped and I didn't even know the dmc with the other dante was a separate story
You are entertaining AF I loved this. Makes my day better
I've been waiting for you to get back to these. Good looking brother!
Thank you so so so so much for blessing me with such a video and a coincidence cause I was watching such evolutions that has to do with dmc 🔥🔥🔥🔥✨
No prob, fam

@@Fireroderickcummings Not counting the DLC with Reboot Vergil.
That intro is still 🔥
Appreciate it bro
Loved it! One of my favorites, rolled into one vid?! Great job fam!!
The dmc devil may cry story was actually good, well atleast for me
Yessssss sir I miss this so much love your content man 😆😆😆
Fun Facts: DMC's Reboot Vergil and Dante are Nephalim and in the Original Timeline they are Cambion.
Love how you included the Reboot timeline too lol, a lot of people just pretend it doesn't exist despite the lore being pretty interesting

I feel that
DmC would have been better received if it an original IP, and not an unwanted reboot of Devil May Cry.
That and the DMC elitists have an attitude problem
"He's been Yamcha'd" Is a personal favorite of mine.
Donte you did it and you made it very good
Thanks fam

I found DMC Dante intriguing.
There’s some more info about V and Vergil in the Visions of V manga. The volumes weren’t officially translated but they are canon. 😊
DMC the reimagining is very underrated I love this game it’s my favorite one in the series in terms of storyline and gameplay next to the very first devil may cry

I wonder what happened to Sparda. I kinda hope we find out in a future game.
Plot twist he is the next bad guy!
Nice 👍
Here Black Mamba, got an interesting watch coming.

You should have done DMC retro
Vergil after the defeat of Dante
you just got a new sub :)
Thankyou for being informative becuz I forgot about somethings ready for 6 even though I doubt they do it but it’s be nice

Thanks man🤠
ur videos are so good haha ur funny as hell
Hey look at that your first compilation video
Lol yeah
the reboot timeline is my favorite it looks way better to me
I feel like DMC it's in its own different timeline a whole different game series of its own!
Whole family of power drunk half demons with confused pasts
Would love to see a remake of a mix of DMC 1-3 all put in 1 big story. Have it be open world. Keep the gothic look and feel to it like in DMC 1 tho.
"It was never officially stated that Vergil lost the fight."
Yes. It was. The reason Yamato was split in 2 was because Mundus kicked his ass, and broke Yamato to spit on Sparda's legacy.
The love interest was brought to that castle by Agnus to try to get Nero on side
I'm under the impression that the new DMC anime is before DMC3. Back when he was Tony Redgrave
By no means was DMC: Devil May Cry a good game, but it wasn't a bad game either.... it was just certainly a game that existed that didn't live up to what the fans wanted .... however I still do want a DMC2, because I enjoyed the story of it, and want to see the end
