I broke a hex bit from my advanced screwdriver bit set, Took it back and had no problems, They just swapped it with a full new set. Great customer service in my opinion.
Halfords is really good with replacing their advanced tool range (tools also very durable so if you use them properly they don’t break too easily)… I broke a 1/2 extension on a super stubborn rusty suspension bolt… I should‘be probably heat it up 🤔 … but guys at Halfords were brilliant no questions asked they just replaced it right away!!! I always buy their tools …great value for a diy mechanic like myself Highly recommended
I bought my 200 piece set back in 2016. I broke a ratchet spanner and a torx bit and Halfords changed them straight away for me just last week. I won't hesitate to buy Halfords Advanced again.
I bought some halfords professional rachets (used) from a guy and 2 of them started slipping. Took them in they replaced them for the updated advanced versions no questioned asked.
I've had them replace a few bits no receipt needed as it has Halfords Advanced engraved on the tool so they can hardly moan about it. On each occasion they didn't put up a fight just swapped the tool. They even had to open a whole new socket set to replace just a T8 torx bit because they didn't have any individual ones in stock.
@@TheWebstaff I'd try going to another branch then. Always an idea to have them email the receipt to you. That way you can't lose it. However I've never needed to show any proof of purchase.
It must be a jobs worth on the till lol... definitely try a different store ...im going to do a follow video soon as I have a few more broken bits & see if I have any issues..
I have used Advanced tools for years and yes if it breaks many times my Halfords always replaces no questions asked. Halfords are a great store to deal with always friendly and willing to help you out.

I have their 150 pce set in this range, and so far it all seems solid, but some of the unchromed pieces have corroded, despite always being kept and stored well inside, and always having silica pouches in the case too?
i had one of my torx bits replaced the other day, they had it in the store so replaced it straight away, and no you do not need the receipt, I've had mine for about 8 years and like I'm gonna keep a receipt that long, that's why they say no quibbles
In all credit too my local halfords they have always replaced my 3/8 torx bits even changed my fine tooth quarter drive ratchet twice before I lost it and it was getting used daily over about 6 years
does anyone know if they replace the case of the style before this? My metal fasteners broke off in the first week of ownership and I have been stuck with a loose case since.
The casing and design does slightly change with new range therefore become obsolete. Best think tondo is pop to the local store, failing this they can get you a new style box and reposition your tools.
My experience was different. I waited there for an hour to get a few tools replaced/ordered in. They won't give you tools off the shelf unless they can't order them in. It's not terrible but also not ideal.
Everyone seems to have different experiences in different places. They need to give the correct information when purchasing the tools & train their staff on returns
It will… you don’t even need a receipt… you bring a broken bit with advanced logo on it and it’s getting replaced on the spot. They’re really brilliant

You no longer need a receipt - as long it is an advanced pro part - you will get it swapped out. Interestingly (or not) this came about from a bloke who worked in photography, realised that the ink literally disappears from receipts after a period of time.. went to try and exchange something at Halfords and his receipt was blank... he wrote a letter to them explaining that the type of ink/paper causes the receipts to become blank after a period of time.. They since changed their terms to no longer needing to provide a receipt.

Nice. The receipt issue was my question as I own halfords professional which is now called advanced. I think the Torx heads you got replaced are proper sockets in my set. Either way nice they replace them.
It's funny, the only thing they won't replace is the case all the tools sit in... I have an advanced 1/4 inch set in a plastic case I had for 6-7 years when the case broke. That's not covered when I asked Halfords, so now it gets held together with tie wraps... 🤞👍🙂
They’ve replaced mine twice! First time my case was no longer made so they replaced the whole kit with the equivalent newer style. I was proper shocked 😂
I purchased a lot off halfords tools in the early 2000s as a apprentice engineer back then the professional and advanced line wasn't out it just had halfords engraved on all my tools which was enough to warrant it but when I took my 18 inch knuckle bar to be replaced they said it does not say professional or advanced on the bar how is that my fault I think halfords tools are good but when comes to replace broken tools there attitude stinks from now on I will stay clear of halfords or HALFRAUDS
Halford do not cover moving parts, so they consider that the toothed ractchet and pawl, well you get the point is moving so that is not covered. So basically its a shite guarantee is not worth the paper its printed on. I purchased ratchets and rachet spanners and they told me to talk to the hand! Having said that Snapon and most other companies do this!
Well I will wait and see if they won't replace it I will definitely update the video on how you get cond into buying a false warranty...... im sure halfords wouldn't want the bad publicity... thanks for the advice 🤙
Try a different store I've had a ratchet changed twice over a long period and a couple of ratchet spanners that got dropped from ladders the warranty to price is spot on in comparison to snapon ratchet spanner set that has next too no warranty
I have the black edition super set costing nearly £400 and it’s the worst purchase I have ever made it’s CRAP. When I bought it I got it home and I live 1.3 miles away from Halfords opened it and it was very rusty and the black coating coming off so took it back to change it and they said it wasn’t covered for corrosion 10 minutes from buying it so that’s one for trading standards and yes they are currently dealing with it. And the torch sockets would stand better if they were made of toffee in the 3 or so months of owning it I have had 4 T30 sockets 2 half inch ratchets and a 3/8 ratchet replaced but on the bright side these are not rusty😂 but they are still sh#t👎🏻

Good tools mostly... some say crap but they offer the guarantee so not that crap as you can return to replace. 👍 good informative video.
