My best finds in these bulk boxes were a pair of 18Kt yellow gold earrings coming in at over an ounce of gold, an art deco gold ring with a 1 ct diamond, an art deco emerald cut 7 ct. green spinel with 4 flanking diamonds totaling 1 ct and a gorgeous sterling and abalone inlay bib necklace, earrings and cuff and 5 rings in 14K gold with mabe pearl, amethyst, a small ruby with tiny diamonds and lapis. I sold it all for about $4000. I love bulk boxes.

Would you consider doing a video on how to initially clean jewelry pieces? Also, could you brooch the subject of verdigris. I 've heard it can be cleaned off. But, you prefer to throw those pieces out.
I've thought about doing some cleaning videos. Verdigris can be hard to clean as it has eroded the metal. I really only clean verdigris pieces if they're collectable. Thank you, I appreciate you watching my channel. 😊💖

Regarding Avon-the company DID sell Sterling Silver and 10k/14k gold jewelry with semiprecious stones around 2010. I own on 14k necklace and a sterling silver ring with a ruby stone. Over the past several years i have found some of the sterling pieces i wanted but could not afford at the time. If you think it may be genuine, your hunch may be right! Do not disregard it just because of the brand!! Test it!!!

@AliBorealis yes, I believe it was for an Anniversary of some kind. I can't remember the number bit they've been around for over 100 years and this jewelry was commemorating that. I bought a piece of the sterling with my, and both my daughter's initials. They each had a diamond on the charm with the initial. That was 15 plus years ago and they look brand new. I bought my mom a 10k gold necklace at the same time. She still has it. They're hard to find but it's worth testing a piece if you think what you are feeling may be genuine.

It's for charity. When I've found a bargain at a charity shop ( like my leather Mulberry purse) I always donate extra.
It upsets me that people often donate something valuable but it gets sold iff cheap because the assistants don't know the value. My mum used to manage a charity shop but she wouid research and get valuations from local jewellers and antique shops. Often they would offer to buy at far more than she could ever have charged in the shop.

Hiii! Some boxes and pretty spectacular and others I hardly break even! I find if I bid on boxes in an auction style, I can at least judge a bit what's in them. This particular box was a blind box, so I had no idea what I was getting. Fortunately, the gold heart earrings made it worthwhile! I appreciate you watching my video! 😊💞

Be careful with that 18 k testing sterling, it gives false positives. Took mine to my jeweler and they showed me why we should not be using the 18 kt. Different compositions. White stones are good for sterling.
Thank you for the information. From what I've been hearing, with recently ordered acid kits the 18K is no longer reacting with sterling. So I may just need to figure out how to read the sterling acid. What do you mean about the white stones? Thank you for watching! 😊💖
@@AliBorealis hi. So funny you should comment as today I spent a good 2 hours trying to figure out how I could test sterling. I am so confused. A lot of people use 18 kt (as did I) but now I’m afraid to sell jewelry. I may just list marked jewelry with a subtext in description that I do not test metals . It’s too stressful. The white stones come with come testing kits, just white instead of black. The stone we scratch the jewelry on. Also I learned that a lot of people scratch on sterling and drop the acid right there on the piece (bottom of silver platters and such). It’s just way too much for me to think about. I have no plans, or enough talent, to do the videos you do. You’re really good! My favorite part is opening the boxes. No UA-cam channel, I work a lot. Love learning about the jewelry now, still don’t wear a lot :)
Idk. I think there’s a lot more to it, years of study, which you may have; for me, I’ve been selling stuff only since 2011 for extra take out money :)
